Raekwon has taken off early in 2013 and is setting the tone for other artists; The Chef has announced his new album; his sixth studio venture and it is titled F.I.L.A, an acronym for FLY.INTERNATIONAL. LUXURIOUS ART.
Raekwon tweeted - My next Lp comin out in the 2nd quarter and is titled F.I.L.A acronym for “FLY.INTERNATIONAL. LUXURIOUS ART”.
So we have a title and a release date; dates of course are subject to change. But we keep our fingers crossed and wish that Raekwon delivers a tasty treat. His new EP Lost Jewlry hits the stores on January 8th. He had released the EP’s cover art last week.
Lost jewelry EP is still a few days away, dropping as it will in the month of January next year, but that has not slowed down the chef as he cooks up another lyrical delicacy and it is titled “Never Can Say Goodbye”. The artist has been coming out with individual tracks with some regularity of late and this is another one in the assembly line.
Nothing crystallized about his new album as of now except that it will come out for sure soon next year. Raekwon will be announcing the title and release date on the 1st of January. BTW, for those of you old enough or into classic soul, this number is Raekwon’s take on the old Jackson Brothers hit with the same name.
Ghost Face Killah and Raekwon speak on how even after eight years the death of their mate Ol’ Dirty Bastard is still an unfilled hole in their lives.
on November 13th, 2004, Dirt died from a heart attack brought about by an overdose of cocaine and prescription medicine tramadol.
Raekwon and Ghostface, both had a different take on how they’d be remembering their pal.
Raekwon said “Today I just want to have a day of prayer to let my brother know I am thinking about him,” “This still hits me real hard.” “I will mourn over him today and think about how much he taught me.”
Ghostface felt differently – “I never dwell on the day we lost him, I just celebrate the times I had with him.”
“I pray and thank God on this day because he is my angel … I spent the day just sitting quietly and praying. Dirt wouldnt want us mourning so I don’t.”
