So, Skylar Grey’s track C’mon Let Me Ride is finally out. And has her old pal Slim Shady spitting a verse. The video has been shot in Detroit. Check the video below, never seen anything as Freudian in a long time.
The number is from Skylar’s debut album Don’t Look Down which is being produced by Eminem. And will be out next year. This particular track has been produced by Alex Da Kid.
The lyrics go something like this “If you got a sweet tooth / You can taste my watermelons.” “Come on let me ride your bicycle / So fantastical / On your bicycle / We can get a little more physical / Baby, after all, it’s only natural.”
On Nov 26th Eminem and 50 Cent released the duo’s latest collaboration and both had an interesting take on it. The video premieres tomorrow on MTV at 6 am.
According to Eminem “The video is kind of abstract; it’s kind of metaphoric in a sense, like the paranoia of feeling like we’re being chased,” “Whether it’s true or not, it’s kind of how we feel. It’s kind of a metaphor for us running for our lives. Personal lives and from fame, everything that goes with the game.”
Fif added “The album itself is more personal than the albums in the past Now this record, it’s allowed us to do different things creatively. I’ve been able to come out a few times, more than usual to come to Detroit and work with Em for this record.”
Okay, not an easy headline to decipher but not that difficult. It simply means that Slim Shady is selling some limited edition Detroit Tigers- inspired World Series baseball caps costing $30 each and embroidered on the sides is each year in which the artist released an album. 2013 figures too.
Does that solve it for you? And do you like the Mathers’ way of making this announcement or would ya’ll rather prefer a simpler less dramatic tweet to the effect.
More on the caps though. The proceeds from these accessories will support charity through the Marshall Mathers Foundation. You can check them out, available as they are in home and away colors on the artist’s website.
Skylar Grey’s collaboration with Eminem had made news a fortnight back; word was that the artist was joining hands with the hip hop master for a playful number. Now still photos from activity on the sets of the video for this number have surfaced. So we know for sure now that it’s happened and we can expect a release soon.
This is Skylar’s first single and a local Tampa Bay DJ DJ Goofy WhiteKid described as the most playful song he’s ever heard from Skylar Grey.
