Set to release his thirteenth and fourteenth album on the same date, the greatest game Spitta of all time sets his record straight March 30, 2010 with the release of two separate albums entitled "Revenue Retrievin' The Day Shift" and "Revenue Retrievin' The Night Shift." Northern California is recognized geographically as the Bay Area. Over the years, E-40 has served as the headliner of notoriety while creating a musical space of his own. As his beat goes on, the rap veteran recently made the savvy decision to sign an independent label deal with Heavy On The Grind Entertainment/EMI owned by Earl Stevens Jr. aka Droop-E who is not only a hit making producer but the son of E-40. This student organization will utilize the talents of student artists' actors and musicians and create an album, grand finale show and two plays at the end of the each semester. (Making of the Band)

The BBM Group Announces That Grammy Nominated Producers Midi Mafia Will Hold a Contest With Blazetrak and Ustream in Search For Hidden Talent
February 8th - Los Angeles, CA - Midi Mafia, the Grammy nominated production duo, announced that they are in search for the next big talent. The BBM Group will be working with Blazetrak to gather submissions from aspiring artists and musicians (ages 16-22) for the entire month of February. Submissions will be through Blazetrak.com, a site dedicated to bridging the gap between talented, undiscovered artists and top tier professionals in the entertainment industry.
Starting Tuesday, March 2nd, The Midi Mafia will conduct Blazetrak reviews on a weekly web-series entitled, "Casa Mafia." Five hopefuls will be reviewed every Tuesday for three weeks [4-6pmPST/ 7-9pm EST] on Ustream.tv, the most popular streaming site on the net. Ustream has built a reputation developing online presence for artists such as Ashton Kutcher, Snoop Dog, etc.
Midi Mafia consists of producer/engineer/DJ Dirty Swift and producer/songwriter/artist Bruce Waynne. Their growing credits include 50 Cent's "21 Questions", Fantasia's "When I See U", Jennifer Lopez's "Hold It Don't Stop It", John Legend ft. Brandy's "Quickly", and many more. Midi Mafia's production is represented on over 20 million albums sold worldwide. The winner of the contest will be announced on March 23rd, the fourth and final Tuesday of their live stream. Music Producer's Special Event Branches into Monthly Beat Battle
JACKSONVILLE, FL—Feb. 9—After receiving requests from Jacksonville music producers, The Sessions has announced a new monthly beat battle called Beats in the Basement held every third Tuesday beginning February 16, 2010 at De Real Ting (128 West Adams Street, Jacksonville, FL 32202).
The Sessions were created by Sherman Entertainment Enterprises LLC and Babyboi95 Music Group to help equip up-and-coming producers with pointers and feedback necessary for becoming competitive in the music industry. The last event was held in Jacksonville in November 2009 with great response, leading the event to break off into a monthly beat battle.
The Beats in the Basement beat battle will be open to the public and all genres, 18 years old and up, for a $5 general entry and $20 battle entry. Battle participants are encouraged to bring supporters, as the battle will be judged by the crowd. Those in or looking to break into the music industry are also encouraged to attend so that they may network with other individuals within the local music scene.
Special invited guests, including prominent DJ's, artists and tastemakers will be invited from month-to-month to help expose local producers and talents to the national music scene as well.

MTV Jams Calls Texas Day a Great Success
Houston, TX – This past Saturday, February 6th, MTV Jam hosted Texas Day in honor of the 2010 NBA All-Star Game being held in Dallas, TX. The network's programming was dedicated to the past, present and future of the state's music scene, and featured exclusive interviews and videos from industry titans that call the Lone Star State home. Since airing, the network has deemed the day a great success, and has released correlating facts and figures to back up their claim.

Kottonmouth Kings Release Clockwork Orange Theme Video
The Kottonmouth Kings have released their 'Clockwork Orange' themed video for "Stomp/Rampage" online at http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=102836294. The tracks are taken from the California based group's new album, "Long Live The Kings", which hits stores on April 20th, 2010 through Suburban Noize.
"One of my favorite movies was 'Clockwork Orange', so we decided to put our own spin on it for our first video off our new album," says Daddy X. "We had a crew of top stuntmen come down for the gang fight scene and we had a great time recreating this cult classic. 'Stomp' and 'Rampage' were our first videos with Dirtball as a new king and the music speaks for itself."

Los Angeles music publicity company, Harris Image Management, is laying the ground work for the national debut of recording artist, Mr. Frizo, who is also set to release his first major album in conjunction with the tour.
The Los Angeles music and entertainment publicity and public relations company, Harris Image Management, is soon to announce the kick-off of the nation-wide tour, "They Call Me Mr. Frizo," which is being launched in conjunction with the release of Mr. Frizo's self-titled debut album. The tour and album release are expected to debut this spring and stop in cities from Los Angeles to Miami.
Mr. Frizo is a rap artist, though his music is often described as more of an "Urban Pop" sound. He is based out of Wisconsin and has been performing in clubs in the Midwest for a number of years. He was recently signed to the Marlo Music label, a Marlo Entertainment company, and they have since been eagerly preparing to make him known to a much larger audience.
"Based on his unique style and the following he has already been able to build, we are very excited about what music lovers will think of him," said Larry Paul Meese, President of the label. "Frizo has a style of music that is very much Rap, and yet it is not typical by any means. It is far more musical than you'd expect from Rap, and yet Rappers agree he has the skills to keep up with the best of them. The sound is uniquely Frizo and it is why we think he is a category all his own with that Urban Pop. We think he makes Rap accessible and has found a way to blend Pop and Rap, and real music with the heavy lyrical style of Hip Hop."

Yo Gotti Live From The Kitchen Tour 2010
Atlanta, GA Feb. 9 -- Memphis hip-hop hustler, Yo Gotti announced today via his management that he will embark on the Live From the Kitchen 2010 Tour, this spring for fifteen exclusive tour dates across the country.
When asked how the tour came into fruition, Gotti said "The tour came about because I always wanted to do a small tour to be feel more of a connection with the fans. They presented the proposal I was most definitely interested in it, this tour will promote my album also called Live from The Kitchen."
Live From The Kitchen, the Mix Cd, will hit streets March 23, 2010. Yo Gotti has not had a full-length album since 2006's Back to Da Basics.
"I have been putting out mix tapes for a long time and it has been a few years since my last commercial album, this tour is all about the album and will get fans ready for the album, I am looking forward to sharing my "reality-music" with the fans," explains Gotti.

GHANAINAN TORONTONIAN SINGER KAE SUN ANNOUNCES CROSS-CANADA TOUR
FEBRUARY 8, 2010, TORONTO, ON – After the release of his impressive debut full-length album, Lion On A Leash (Urbnet/Fontana North), in October of 2009, Kae Sun is gearing up to set out on a Canadian tour that begins this week in his hometown of Toronto February 4 at Glenn Gould Studio and brings Kae back home to finish up the tour for CMW in Toronto this March.
With his soulful vocals and expressively poetic lyrics, Toronto-based Kae Sun has a lot to bring to the table, including the diverse and unique background that so strongly shaped his musical style. Influenced by a vast array of performers, as well as elements of his birthplace Ghana, the up-and-coming musician has established a distinct style that is constantly developing and always sincere.
Born and raised in an artistic and culturally-rich household in Ghana, Kae Sun was exposed to music, story-telling, and performance—ranging from church choir and traditional Ghanaian folk chants to his father's soul records—at an early age. By the time he moved to Ontario in 2001 to focus on his musical career, Kae Sun was ready to expand his horizons, taking cues from classic musicians like Bob Dylan and Neil Young and branching out from his predominantly hip-hop inspired material to include instruments and melodic vocals in his music. Armed with a new understanding of and outlook on music as a whole, Kae Sun released his first full-length demo, which earned him a 2006 Hamilton Music Award. Inspired by the success of this demo, Kae Sun decided to record an EP entitled Ghost Town Prophecy, and tour Canada in support of the release.
The lessons learned and experiences gained from his extensive exploration of music ultimately contributed to Kae Sun's most recent release, Lion On A Leash, which he produced much of himself. Currently, the inspiring musician is based in Toronto, where he still performs, both solo and with a band. Having already participated in festivals like the Hillside Music Festival and Pop Montreal, Kae Sun is no stranger to the stage. Bio: Born and raised in Woodbridge, Virginia, Locke Kaushal had the privilege to grow up with both parents in the house hold provided an opportunity to gain insight from two perspectives on almost any topic discussed at the dinner table. This talented 21 year old hip hop artist first found his passion not in rap, but with spoken word. It wasn't until college (where he currently attends North Carolina A&T State University) that he first showcased his lyrical talents. "To be honest, I used to write just to relieve stress. Vent… I used my pen as a vice. I never thought to express anything outwardly, mainly because I've always been self-conscious about my work… my words… myself period. But then again who isn't?" Locke argues that he hasn't been inspired by any rap artists, but instead, heavy influenced, stating that "There is in fact a difference. Before I even started listening to hip hop I was always writing, so to say I was inspired by a hip hop artist is a stretch. But once I knew I wanted to pursue music more heavily I then started taking notes on certain artists trying to figure out what made them successful compared to others, thus, influencing my approach." Artists such as Jay-Z, Nas, Lupe Fiasco, Common, and Talib Kweli among others have shown to have influenced Locke Kaushal's flow, as well as direction.

New Orleans Rapper K. Gates Celebrates Saints' Super Bowl Win After Releasing Team Fight Song "Black & Gold (Who Dat!!)"
Rapper K. Gates, a New Orleans native, recorded the now famous Saints' fight song, "Black & Gold (Who Dat!!)" last month, when the Saints had only Super Bowl dreams in sight. Wanting to inspire the team and their endlessly supportive fans in a city that's been through so much, K. Gates created the perfect rally call to help carry the black & gold all the way to the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Taking a sample from the Ying Yang Twins' "Halftime (Stand Up & Get Crunk!)," which has long been played over the loudspeaker after every Saints touchdown, "Black & Gold (Who Dat!!)" features the lyrics, "we yellin black n gold to the Superbowl… we yellin who dat… say they gon beat them Saints."
Gates also just recorded a video for the track, working around the clock to finish the shoot in just one day and have the video edited two days later. Ready last Wednesday, just in time to cheer The Saints to victory, the "Black & Gold" video is already up to over 60,000 views on YouTube. Check it out for yourself right here.

NEW YORK, NY – Muslim and Jewish artists will return to the stage at the Nuyorican Poets Café on Tuesday, February 16, 2009. In Serchlite Presents: The Tug of War Tour, Iranian and Israeli rap duo Mazzi & Sneakas will come together with spoken word artists Vanessa Hidary and Tahani Salah, in addition to M.C. Dash Speaks, for an evening of hip-hop and spoken word.
The brainchild of Israeli-American M.C. Sneakas and M.C. Serch (of Third Bass fame and VH1's White Rapper Show), the tour features the controversial rap group Mazzi & Sneakas (consisting of Sneakas and Muslim-Iranian rapper Mazzi), in addition to spoken word poets Vanessa Hidary and Tahani Salah (both of whom have been featured on HBO's Def Poetry Jam).
The Tug of War Tour debuted at the Nuyorican Poets Café in December where the show was hosted by HOT 97's Peter Rosenberg. Following a smash success, the Tug of War Tour will return to the Nuyorican Poets Café for its second New York show before kicking off a multi-city tour with other shows in Albany, NY, Colorado and New Jersey.
The Tug of War Tour is a thought-provoking and multi-dimensional artistic endeavor that explores narratives of conflict and co-existence between Muslims and Jews.
