The festivities will kick off with a "Meet the Filmmaker" panel that will take place from 5:00-7PM and will discuss the pitfalls of both raising money ("blood, sweat, and tears equity") as well as the even more daunting task of finding distribution for independent films once they are made.

Starring Tom Sizemore, The Last Lullaby is a redemption tale about a hitman trying to cope with the slow pace of retirement. In addition to being a director, Goodman also writes an article for "Movie Maker Magazine" that examines the challenges he faces as he seeks theatrical distribution for his film:

Adero to Perform at Tribute to Michael Jackson in Gary Indiana July 10

Chicago, IL./Gary, Indiana. Chicago's own, 15-year-old  Adero Neely is scheduled to perform in Gary, Indiana, the birthplace of Michael Jackson, at a special tribute to the native son on Friday, July 10, 2009 at the U.S. Steelyard Stadium, commonly referred to as Rail Cat Stadium. The tribute will start at 6:00 pm. Admission is free. Adero is the youngest R&B/Pop artist to be played on Chicago radio since the Jackson Five. He has been singing Michael Jackson songs since he began his singing career at the age of 10-years-old.  "I love Michael Jackson's work. He has a profound influence on aspirations. He also taught me to enjoy my childhood while I can", said Adero.

The Tribute is called A Tribute to Gary Native Michael J. Jackson. The tribute, which is free, starts at 6:00 pm.

The Gary Indiana website has a biography of Michael Jackson, early photos of Michael Jackson and of the Jackson 5 and directions to Jackson's Childhood Home.

According the biography on the Gary website, Jackson was born to a working class family on August 29, 1958 in Gary, Indiana. His father, Joseph Jackson had been a guitarist but he put his musical aspirations aside to provide for his family. He believed his sons had talent so he molded them into a musical group in the early 1960's.

The musical group initially consisted of the older brothers: Tito, Jermaine and Jackie. Michael joined his brothers when he was five and the youngster emerged as the lead singer for the group. His older brother Marlon joined the group and it evolved into the Jackson 5.

  Visit Adero Neely at www.aderoneely.com

Michael showed amazing range and depth for a young performer, which as also noted by Motown legend Smokey Robinson in the Michael Jackson Memorial at Staples Center in Los Angeles. Jackson was able to convey emotions far beyond his age.
The biography goes on to describe the Jackson's career as they signed with Motown with Berry Gordy and their rise to fame in the entertainment world. See Biography of Michael Jackson.
Gary has proclaimed pride in their native son. Michael Jackson died suddenly of cardiac arrest on June 25, 2009 at the age of 50. Fans have been gathering at his childhood home to pay homage since news of his death. "I never Michael would have departed us during my childhood. He will always be my standard for excellence and I will grow up slow and have as much fun and as many laughs as I know he wanted all the children of the world have", said Adero.

RailCats  Stadium/U.S. Steelyard Stadium is located at 500 East 5th Avenue, Gary, IN 46402. Gary is approximately 45 miles from the O'Hare Airport area of Adero's hometown, Chicago, Illinois.

Rapper Says Souljah Boy Can Be the Next Jay-Z, 50 Cent, or Michael Jackson

Greenville, SC -  When people thought of Souljah Boy in 2008, all they knew was the young teenager from Mississippi who made the global music hit Crank Dat Superman.   Now when people think of Souljah Boy, there's controversy, criticism, and media hype.  With a renewed motivation after Pop Music King Michael Jackson's re-captured message, South Carolina rap artist C.KhiD is speaking out.  Using his one voice, he wants the Hip-Hop community to help the young rap prodigy and others to follow instead of helping push mental stress.

"Michael Jackson should be a catalyst for us making need to protect our own in this diverse, one love Hip-Hop culture.  Love him or hate him, something in Souljah Boy made the world like him and we should continue to push him by asking for something different instead of hating what he has created," says the internet savvy rap artist C.KhiD.

Finding entertainment career success on-line himself at an early age, C.KhiD says he watched Souljah Boy progress from the start.  The South Carolina music artist said he followed Souljah Boy Tell Em from the early youtube rap video "I Got Me Some Bathing Apes," and  was amazed by the kid's work ethic.

Amazed by the success Souljah Boy has had, C.KhiD admits the teen's music is not all to his liking but admits he feels the same about most all of his favorite artists.  In fact C.KhiD made a remixed youtube video for Souljah Boy's "Turn My Swag On" anthem because he liked it so much.

"In Hip-Hop People analyze Souljah Boy like he's Jay-z or Lil Wayne.  They act like he's not supposed to have a childhood because he made his dreams happen early.  Jay-Z was 27 when Reasonable Doubt dropped. Lil Wayne was around 25 before positioning himself into greatness. Souljah Boy is just now turning 18 or 19.  Living life is what makes music great. Be patient and ask for more because that will force him to expand his own horizons," says the motivational voiced South Carolina rap artist.

Launching Hip-Hop site CKHID.com for his return to the on-line world, C.KhiD himself was a teenage success story.  Real name Rodrick Rainey, he garnered the attention of millions to his image since the age of 17.  Founding the first Hip-Hop fashion site, he has been a successful entrepreneur in the Hip-Hop entertainment industry his entire life. Frustrated at times he admits, he says the life he's lived outweighs any of those mental struggles with rap industry ways.

"I had lots of help to make who I am. I was rough when I moved to New York at 18 trying to enter business rooms and network.  I thought Hip-Hop was an environment like the streets and it wasn't by far.  I thank God for people like Keith Perrin, Yomi Martin, Crystal Howard of New Era Caps, and Latrice Burnette for being patient enough to spend a little time on grooming me," says the music artist on his experiences.

Using www.CKHID.com to promote Hip-Hop culture and his music, C.KhiD is looking to push for more success in the massively diverse Hip-Hop music of today.   Declining 2 recording contract offers since age 16, C.KhiD hopes to land a major recording deal or begin touring himself based off internet popularity. Recently invited to perform at the globally recognized Urban Music Awards, he's one of few artists to have no album and such a strong rap industry buzz.

C.KhiD is an artist and entertainment company entity. Beginning Hip-Hop music in the mid 1990s, the Carolina Music Artist does not limit himself to strictly Rap Music, but considers himself a music artist inspired by greats such as 2Pac Shakur, Jay-Z, The Beatles, Bob Marley, and more. The official C.KhiD website is www.ckhid.com while the artist's simple-store for music is available at www.ckhidmusic.com.

The annual Mandela Day celebration is being created to inspire people from every corner of the earth to embrace Nelson Mandela's values as they seek to improve their lives through service to their communities.

New York takes world center-stage in July when the city hosts the inaugural 'Mandela Day.' Centered around a massive music headliner concert at New York's Radio City Music Hall on Nelson Mandela's 91st birthday, July 18, the event is designed as a call around the world for people to honor Nelson Mandela's inspiration and values, and observe the day annually as a celebration - not as a holiday, but as a day to opt in.

Nelson Mandela has been making an imprint on the world for 67 years, beginning in 1942 when he first started to campaign for the human rights of every South African. His life has been an inspiration to the world. To date, the Nelson Mandela Foundation and 46664 have focused mainly on supporting projects in South Africa and sub-Saharan Africa where current needs are greatest, particularly for those infected or affected by HIV/AIDS.

The Mandela Day campaign calls upon people around the world to commit 67 minutes of their time to make an imprint and help change the world around them.

KRS-ONE & BUCKSHOT "Survival Skills" In Stores September 15th

Album Features Mary J Blige, Atmosphere, Immortal Technique, Talib Kweli & More

KRS-ONE Proclaims ROBOT as the official Death Of Auto-Tune Song

After making their indelible marks on the game luminaries KRS-One and Buckshot, arguably two of the games most prolific emcees, will link up to give fans a collaborative album entitled Survival Skills. The project will be released on Duck Down Records, September 15,th while the duo will be featured on The Rock The Bells tour this Summer.

With guests ranging from Mary J. Blige, Slug Of Atmosphere, K'NAAN, Talib Kweli, Immortal Technique, Melanie Fiona, Naledge of Kidz In The Hall, Sean Price, Geo of Blue Scholars, Smif N Wessun and Rock of Heltah Skeltah, "Survival Skills" represents a diverse range of topics, all while maintaining a consistent sound. The album has production from Havoc of Mobb Deep, 9th Wonder, Black Milk, ILL MIND, Coptic, Moss, Nottz, Marco Polo, and KHRYSIS!

On the surface the album is a testament to the resiliency of two lyrical titans, but at its root Survival Skills is a blueprint for life. For instance on the infectious head-nodder "Robot," which was released 6 weeks prior to Jay Z's "The Death Of Auto Tune" track, and already available World Wide at Digital Retail Shops, such as iTunes, the duo speak-out against the recent overuse of the Auto-Tune vocal effect in urban music, but under the surface the message is much deeper. "I don't want people to get the averaged clichéd version and thinking that we're dissing people,'" Buckshot clarifies. "What we're calling out here is the biters, the people that feel like because this guy sold X amount of records doing this, that I'm going to turn around and do it as well," KRS says of the array of artists who have followed in the creative footsteps of Roger Troutman, Afrikka Bambatta, Teddy Riley and T-Pain. Despite its heavy message, sonically the track, produced by Mobb Deep's Havoc, is as inviting as anything on the radio today. The video for "ROBOT," directed by Todd Angkaswan, has been added into rotation at MTV & BET. The track has also been included in the sound track for Activision's upcoming Tony Hawk skate game in stores this Fall.

Coincidently, ROBOT is not the first example of where Jay Z has released similar material and concepts from KRS-ONE & BUCKSHOT. In 2003, Buckshot's group Black Moon recorded a song called "Stay Real," which was, again, released 6 weeks prior to Jay Z's "Public Service Announcement" track, that ironically contained the same sample as Black Moon's "Stay Real."

A couple years prior to this Jay Z released "THE BLUEPRINT," which was the same title used by KRS-ONE in his classic album, Boogie Down Productions "Ghetto Music: The BLUEPRINT of Hip Hop."

KRS-One and Buckshot are the epitome of rap longevity and relevancy. After making his 1987 debut with Boogie Down Productions on the seminal rap classic Criminal Minded, KRS-One instantly became an icon going on to release a gang of essential works including 1988's By All Means Necessary and 1993's Return of the Boom Bap. Similarly when Buckshot came into the game in 1993 with Enta Da Stage as Black Moon's front man, fans instantly took notice.

And the party never stopped, KRS-One's 2007 collaborative album with producer Marly Marl, ("Hip Hop Lives") was critically acclaimed and his work on "Classic," the Kanye West, Nas and Rakim featured track celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Nike's Air Force 1 shoe, earned the Teacher a Grammy nod. Buckshot has continued to churn-out some of the game's most progressive projects as well, most notably his 9th Wonder-produced albums Chemistry (2005) and The Formula (2008). Couple those with the licensing deals which have landed Buck's music on networks like ESPN and The History Channel, as well as an episode of CSI Las Vegas and it's clear to see why the Boot Camp general has remained one of the game's most influential.

"Ever since 1993 we've been passing each other on tour or in the studio saying, one day we should tour together, or one day we should do a record together," says KRS of the long-awaited union. "Well finally myself and Buckshot have the chance to collaborate on a straight up and down MC'in project."

For all of their individual accomplishments, KRS-ONE and Buckshot remain fans of each other's work; complementing each other's strengthens. "That's still KRS-One at the end of the day. I didn't know how to rhyme back when I first started listening to Kris," says Buck alluding to his partner's dominant history. In turn, KRS gives all praises to the Black Moon front man. "I am the humble teacher on the track, Buckshot is clearly the man," he says.

Still gritty tracks like "Clean Up," featuring Rock of Heltah Skeltah and the politically minded "Running Away" featuring Immortal Technique, make Survival Skills a Hip-Hop fan's dream, catering to those that love lyrics and the boom-bap. Equally as rich is the album's Black Milk-produced track, "The Way I Live" featuring the Queen of hip-hop soul, Mary J. Blige. Together they create a triumphant anthem for all those on the grind trying to conquer their dreams. The song's summery feel and soothing melodies make it an instant hit.

Throughout, both veterans sound as hungry and invigorated as any of their rap counterparts.  "Projects like these are projects that motivate me," KRS says. "The idea to work with another MC that has his own persona and style and do a real collaboration in the studio, that's motivation. I already got 16 albums of my own," he adds.

What KRS-One and Buckshot have created is an album that is socially responsible, lyrically sharp and sonically banging. Buckshot sums it up best, "Hip-Hop was started as an option to not killing each other. We were in the ghettos and we were real fucked up. We created Hip-Hop so we didn't have to do that anymore."

"The album is called Survival Skills, because that is what it takes."

Hip Hop Weekly Releases Its Most Important Issue to Date, A Commemorative Michael Jackson Tribute Edition

Featuring Two Collectors' Edition Covers
On Sale July 10

Hip Hop Weekly's Michael Jackson Tribute Issue
Boasts Exclusive Interviews with
Motown Records Exec/TV Producer Suzanne de Passe, Super-Producer Teddy Riley, Nation of Islam Chief of Staff Leonard Muhammad;
Essays by Rev. Al Sharpton
and Longtime Jackson Friend/Music Historian/Journalist Cynthia Horner

July 2009, Miami - On the heels of the demise of Vibe Magazine, Hip Hop Weekly's co-founder and publisher Dave Mays has announced Hip Hop Weekly's release of a spectacular tribute issue honoring the life and legacy of Michael Jackson, scheduled to hit newsstands Friday, July 10.  Hip Hop Weekly, which has been chronicled as the #1 news and entertainment source within the urban community, will feature alternating covers for the Michael Jackson Commemorative issue:  a Silver background with young Michael and a Gold background mature Michael rendition.  Collectors and fans will want to own both.  While Michael Jackson holds iconic status for all lovers of popular culture, Hip Hop Weekly will present the super talent from the Hip Hop point of view, a culture and genre of artistic expression that flourishes today in large part because of Jackson's incredible achievements.

Motown Records executive/television producer Suzanne de Passe, super-producer Teddy Riley and Nation of Islam Chief of Staff Leonard Muhammad share exclusive personal experiences about Michael within the issue, with the Reverend Al Sharpton and longtime Jackson friend, music historian and journalist Cynthia Horner penning remarkable and touching essays about his life and legacy.  Hip Hop Weekly will also present a complete discography and review of all of Michael Jackson's albums and a complete videography and synopsis of over 30 of his most important and influential music videos.

Memorable anecdotes incorporated in the issue include:

"We had a little thing we would do, which would be throwing a 'hand grenade,' you'd make a fist and you'd pull the imaginary pin and pretend to toss it towards the person. So if one of us was doing something wack, somebody would toss a 'hand grenade' at them. Sometimes we would be at a boring meeting and he'd throw me a 'hand grenade' and I'd toss one back to him."   --- Suzanne de Passe, former Motown Records executive who discovered The Jackson 5 and nurtured Michael throughout the early years of his career, going on to great success in the field of television, including producing the famous "Motown 25" TV special where Michael's incredible moonwalking dance was first viewed by millions of fans.

"Michael Jackson was a woman lover, trust! Dude gets it in. I have only once told a close friend that I just couldn't believe how he gets it in. He is a real dude. He's human. He has a child life in him. He deserves to be a baller and a player sometimes."  --- Super-producer Teddy Riley who worked with Michael on his huge Dangerous and Invincible albums.

"The disguises were incredible! The disguises, different ones, not just one, so that Michael could go to the movies and could go to the malls and go shopping with his children. I can tell you that there were many times that people were sitting next to Michael Jackson in the public, and they would never know that it was him." --- Leonard Muhammad, the Nation of Islam Chief-of-Staff who managed Michael's business affairs for 2 years during the time he was falsely accused of child molestation from 2003-2005.

Cynthia Horner's stirring contribution is perhaps the magazine's most remarkable inclusion.  As the former long time editor of Right On! Magazine, one of the nation's oldest and most popular teen-zines, she has personally covered the evolution of Michael Jackson and the Jackson Family from the very beginning and was a longtime family friend.

Following its typical format, Hip Hop Weekly will cover Jackson's life story, the news surrounding his death and life, his music, his style and his contributions to the culture.

"Hip Hop Weekly's amazing tribute to Michael Jackson is by far our most important and most powerful journalistic products yet," remarks Hip Hop Weekly co-founder and publisher David Mays. "Our ability to create, produce and deliver to market such a robust publication within days of an event of this magnitude, underscores the reasons why Hip Hop Weekly is growing and thriving during a time when most other magazines are failing. The ability to deliver timely and relevant content to the market with speed, quality and accuracy are the tools necessary to be relevant in all forms of media in the world today."

Hip Hop Weekly's memorable tribute edition arrives on newsstands just one week after the sudden closing of Vibe magazine, signaling the end of an era of monthly-formatted magazines once widely embraced by a generation of youth and young adults.  With the rapid rise of Hip Hop Weekly, Mays and his longtime partner, Ray Benzino, have once again broken new ground, setting the mold for others in urban media to follow, just as they did over 20 years ago with the creation of legendary The Source Magazine from Mays' Harvard dorm room.

About Hip Hop Weekly

Hip Hop Weekly Magazine is the #1 celebrity newsweekly covering TV, music, fashion, sports and celebrity news in the Hip Hop community. It was launched in 2007 by David Mays and Ray "Benzino" Scott, the most successful content development team for the lucrative hip hop consumer market over the past 20 years. The team has a proven track record of innovation and success across the fields of consumer magazines, television programming, music/ merchandising, and digital/mobile media. From the early days, they had the vision to see that hip hop would become the cultural touchstone of their generation, just as rock and roll was for the previous generation.

After starting The Source as a newsletter in 1988, Mays and Benzino guided The Source to become the #1 selling music magazine on newsstands in the world, with sales of over 5 million copies per year. Recently, GQ Magazine's 50th anniversary issue recognized The Source's incredible connection to its market when it named the magazine one of the "27 Things that Changed Men's Lives" over the last 50 years-along with the remote control, Nintendo, Viagra, text messaging and ESPN's SportsCenter.

The duo skillfully developed "The Source" brand in various media, with equal levels of success. The team produced some of the highest-rated TV programs for a hip hop audience ever, including the weekly series "The Source All Access" and "The Source Soundlab," as well as the 2004 broadcast of The Source Awards, which became the 6th highest rated show in the history of the BET network. They also developed the most successful series of hip hop compilation albums ever, selling over 5 million copies of "The Source presents Hip Hop Hits," and launched The Source Mobile division, selling over 3 million ringtone downloads in two years.

Hip Hop Weekly can be accessed via the web at http://hiphopweekly.com .  The Michael Jackson Commemorative issue is only available at newsstands and bookstores.

Note to Media:  Both publisher Dave Mays and historian/journalist Cynthia Horner are available for interview.  Contact jazzmynepr@gmail.com.

The Middle Men (TMM) to release their first single titled "Show me Love" featuring Lil Scrappy and Bobby Valentino

Atlanta, Georgia July 9, 2009, - The Middle Men (TMM) today announced the release of their first single titled "Show me love". The Middle Men (TMM) is an Atlanta based production team which consists of two producers, The Prep and Trills.

"It's a unique song" said The Prep, a member of The Middle Men (TMM) "because it brings together some of the hardest hip hop artists together both from the south. The song is not only a hot single because of the artists featured on there, but also the concept behind it which has to do with "Love ". Every now and then everyone needs love especially for the women out there. There aren't too many guys out there these days that really pay close attention to their women and our mission for this song is to really send the message out there to everyone not just to couples but to others as well who might have been missing love. With hard 808 bass drums, catchy hooks, and a laid back southern flow "Show Me Love" can be best described as a new era kind of music whereas you get both the hip hop and R&B altogether.

With their first compilation studio album ever to be released, The Middle Men (TMM) is ready to take the industry by surprise with their upcoming release of their album. The album is going to be totally different from your average  albums because of the artists that will be featured on the album. Everything is not going to be just hip hop, and definitely there will not be anything like matching up artists. Think of this album as an experiment whereas all the different types of music genre will be recorded all together. There is going to be no limits we want to go beyond our expectations and let everyone out there believe what we can really do in this music industry. The album will be a far- reaching ambitious album and a master piece in a strange way, but will be definitely be worthy.

The Middle Men (TMM) is also concentrating on providing the best compilation album at least and also to be part of the ongoing movement in the music industry especially in our time and beyond. With their dramatic sounds, these duos planned to hold strong grounds within the industry just like any other young producers in the game.

UPDATED: DIGIWAXX SUPPORTS THE GREEN CAUSE WITH A SOLAR POWERED MUSIC FESTIVAL FEAT. DEAD PREZ and SPECIAL SURPRISE DJ

Digiwaxx Media Partners with Solar One to Produce CitySol Festival and Solar Heat Mixtape

New York, NY (July 8, 2009)--Digiwaxx Media has collaborated with Solar One for the second consecutive year with its NYC Sustainability Festival taking place Friday July 10th through Sunday July 12th at Stuyvesant Cove Park located on 23rd Street and the FDR Service Road East in New York City. As co-curator of the main event, the live music day on Saturday, July 11th, Digiwaxx has secured the urban acts that will be performing during the concert as well as created the free Solar Heat mixtape produced by 106 & Park DJ battle champion, Get Live. The mixtape will primarily be available online for download as an eco-friendly alternative to traditional physical CD’s and a conscious effort to conserve materials. The fully solar powered event will take place from 12 Noon to 10pm with a long list of acts that will include Dead Prez, O’Neal McKnight and a special surprise guest DJ.

Digiwaxx Media, a premier music marketing and urban lifestyle company that specializes in urban talent and digital distribution to DJs, originally joined forces with Solar One to help to further the marketing techniques that are used to reach an urban audience. As part of this partnership Digiwaxx’s role consists of securing talent for the show, marketing the event to urban networks as well as compiling a mixtape that features artists such as Mike Posner, J. Cole, Ryan Leslie and Melanie Fiona. “There are a lot of hip-hop artists who care about positive causes such as saving the environment. Digiwaxx is proud to offer a concrete and fun way for them to get involved and spread the message to our communities,” says Digiwaxx founder and CEO Corey “CL” Llewellyn.

The CitySol Concert will be fully powered by photovoltaic panels on Solar One’s nearby roof. To insure that the act is carbon neutral, all waste will be properly recycled. This is groundbreaking compared to comparative music performances that usually waste roughly 600 light bulbs, 200,000 napkins and nearly 500,000 plastic cups every year, yielding 500-1,000 tons of carbon dioxide.

In addition to booking Dead Prez, one of the most internationally renowned and politically charged groups of present day hip-hop, Digiwaxx has also booked Universal Records newcomer O’Neal McKnight who has received overwhelming buzz for his astounding affiliations and accomplishments. With Digiwaxx’s database of over 35,000 DJs worldwide that includes some of most renowned radio and celebrity DJs at their disposal, the surprise DJ is sure to be a hit. With Urban Go Green on board as a sponsor and the Queen Afua Wellness Institute on hand to provide raw vegan food, the festival will be a great experience for everyone attending.

The entire CitySol festival will include activities, installations, and exhibits for the whole weekend of July 10th-July 12th. Music acts will perform under a solar tent by Eco-Pioneer, who will also be providing site design with solar tents, a tiki lounge and a bar and bike area. Installation art and exhibits will be created in a Habitat for Artists—a temporary recycled-and-recyclable art studio where Habitat creator Simon Draper (and other artists of his choosing) will create pieces to display during the festival. Additional activities include Sunday’s Kids of All Ages Day where attendees can create their very own generator with the Madagascar Institute as well as take part in open eco-pet fashion show and access the Biobus Mobile Science Lab.

Joe Budden Teams Up with Luxury Car Company

Los Angeles, CA - Next up; Joe Budden hops aboard the Carlyle Motor Club (CMC) rhyme fest. The luxury leasing company has just released the full versioned commercial many have been awaiting. Geoffrey Hull, owner of CMC, initially selected Budden labeling the conjunction as a "match made in heaven". He explains, "Joe Budden has a massive internet presence and because our campaign is based primarily on viral marketing, it is our belief that his web presence coupled with our viral strategy is perfect." He proceeds to commend the rapper's unyielding ability.  Hull notes, "There are few artists that can demonstrate the lyrical dexterity of a Joe Budden."  True, but does he outshine Raekwon? You be the judge. (www.carlylemotorclub.com)
