Here is the debut solo album from Stone Circle ‘s 9 Lives. This superb fifteen track free download album was produced by Sir Prestige of the infamous Social Misfits Entertainment camp. This is an introduction to 9 Lives as a solo artist and is already receiving positive feedback from some of the main players in the UK Hip-Hop scene. This is real music with depth, soul and originality. 9 Lives may be described as a South West London based writing entity. Neither mere group member nor purely soloist, neither only emcee nor simply maker of instrumentals, he is multi faceted. This extends through both his input and output for the art form he loves. Perhaps 9 is best described as one fourth of what is collectively known as Stone Circle . The interest that 9 holds for music can be traced back to childhood. This was before his path even crossed with Hip-hop. However, once it did, his involvement in the industry began. In 1995, he co-founded what was to become Stone Circle , a four-piece crew of MCs with a freshness and uniqueness that has earned the respect of many of their peers.

To date, 9′s production and writing talents have featured across 5 various albums with an anticipated follow-up to Infrastructure planned by Stone Circle in the near future. Russell Simmons Files Fraud and Breach of Contract Complaint Against Li & Fung, USA

Suit Seeks Court Ruling to Require Li & Fung USA to Pay Damages in Excess of $55 Million

NEW YORK, Sept. 9 — Russell Simmons today announced that his companies have filed a lawsuit in the Supreme Court of the State of New York against The Millwork Trading Co. LTD (Li & Fung, USA) for fraud and breach of contract in connection to the “American Classics By Russell Simmons” and “Russell Simmons Argyleculture” trademarks. The suit seeks compensatory and punitive damages in excess of $55 million.

In connection with the filing, Simmons released the following statement:

“Almost 20 years ago I pioneered a space that enabled an entire generation of minority designers and entrepreneurs to redefine the landscape of fashion. Similarly today, there is an enormous void in the market to fulfill the aspirations of the Urban Graduate, who has grown out of this urban fashion trend but isn’t represented by the mainstream brands. I set up Simmons Design Group, and its flagship brand, Argyleculture, to pioneer this vast open space.

In 2007, Li & Fung USA, a division of the Hong Kong-based apparel-sourcing powerhouse, which purported to be the market leader in the development of proprietary brands, approached me about obtaining the exclusive license for American Classics, my smart budget mass-market apparel brand. At that time we made it clear that Simmons Design Group’s main focus was Argyleculture, and that the two brands needed to work synergistically and belonged together. They expressed a false enthusiasm for my flagship brand in order to induce me into licensing them my mass-market brand.

Li & Fung USA and I came to terms on both agreements provided that Li & Fung USA use its best efforts to manufacture, sell and promote American Classics and Argyleculture licensed products in the US.

After two years of repeated misrepresentations, failed execution and lack of development and support, it is blatantly clear that Li & Fung USA never intended perform its contractual obligations under both Argyleculture and American Classics trademarks. Therefore I have taken this action to protect my partnerships with retailers and recover millions in damages on behalf of my brands and to protect my name and reputation in the industry.

Over the last 30 years and with the help of numerous partners, I’ve built successful groundbreaking businesses in music, apparel, television, film, jewelry, games and multiple charities and causes. Not once have I ever had to file a lawsuit. For the first time in my career I found myself with a partner in Li & Fung, which had executives who willfully and repeatedly put the integrity of my brands at risk.

With Simmons Design Group and it’s multiple licensees and powerful retail partners, I feel a strong commitment to pioneer a space that addresses a huge newly emerged demographic, the multi-racial, culturally sophisticated new American. I am taking direct control of the business and am in active discussions with future prospective partners.”

September 10th 2010 — Fresh off his two-plus years musical sabbatical, semi-retired West Coast rap veteran, GUILLERMO “Big Caz” EILAND, has finally re-emerged with his brand new solo outing, Mo Thugs Records’ Presents Big Caz His-Story: Greatest Hood Hitz.

On the stellar career retrospective project, the ex-L.A. Gang-banger, whose harrowing journey ranges from the rough & tumble streets to the plush executive suites, unites with some of the finest in the biz; including, Akon, Game, Layzie Bone from Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, E-40, Tha Dogg Pound’s Kurupt, C-Bo, Knoc-turn’al, Boo Ya Tribe, Spider Loc, Shade Sheist, Nune, and the legendary, late, great, Tupac Shakur, with production courtesy of super-heavyweights; Dr. Dre, Just Blaze, Battlecat, Damizza, and HC.

Big Caz “officially” arrived onto the music scene back at the turn of the century. His heralded solo debut, Thundadome [2000], although not a huge commercial success, was warmly embraced by fans and critics alike. Since then, the Ecuadorian and Caucasian mixed emcee, known for his signature raspy vocal tone, has consistently managed to release popular street albums.
 
After forming an alliance with Layzie Bone, Caz was quickly recruited to an executive level within the Mo Thugs Records’ empire, and in recent years has been working primarily behind the scenes much more-so than in the spotlight. However, that is all destined to soon change with the inception of his forthcoming star-studded collection.

Pearl Future and Nicki Minaj get animated in New Music Video

Toronto’s own Animation duo Kevin Raymond and Music Video Animator Curtis Blade have a few things in common, they both hail from Toronto, Ontario, they both have a love for music and together they have just wrapped up the Official Animated Music Video “Lookin at Me’ by Pearl Future featuring Nicki Minaj of Young Money.

This has been the first time that Pearl Future and Nicki Minaj have ever  been animated, so it’s  kind of a big deal to the duo. The Animated Music Video for “Lookin at Me” has already gained a  huge online buzz  and has  received rave reviews on popular entertainment websites such as Myspace Music News  , Mix Matters and Pop Dirt.

“We just want to offer the world something new, creative and innovative, we want to bring the music to life but in a different way, with animation you can really do anything your heart desires” – says the duo, who head up Twilloo Media, a Toronto based creative marketing company.
