Renegade Media Group Announces BLAST: Modern Urban Production Tools Vol. 1 and 2

Producer Bobbybass brings you the sounds of Jay Sean, Lil Wayne, Sean Paul, and Lil Jon

New York City (September 9, 2010) – Renegade Media Group, a leading sample library company founded by producers Josh Harris and Bobbybass, announces BLAST: Modern Urban Production Tools Vol. 1 and 2, two new sample libraries chock full of kits, sounds, and loops. Bobbybass himself used sounds from this very library on the #1 billboard, 3x platinum single Jay Sean’s “Down” featuring Lil Wayne and “Do You Remember” featuring Sean Paul and Lil Jon.

“With so many bad libraries flooding the market, our goal was to provide street-certified sounds that are actually usable in productions,” said Bobbybass. “How do I know the content in BLAST is up to the task? I use it in my own work with some of the top artists in the industry today.”

BLAST Vol. 1 contains more than 500 Hip Hop, R-n-B, Southern, Crunk, and Tribal sounds that includes full construction kits, single drum shots, and keyboard loop idea starters and building blocks. This massive library totals more than 4GB of content. BLAST Vol. 2 picks up where Vol. 1 left off and continues with more than 450 total sounds and nearly 3GB of total content. Both BLAST Vol. 1 and 2 are available in Acidized Wave Files, Apple Loops, Rex2, and Reason Refill formats.

Bobbybass is one half of the award-winning production duo Orange Factory Music (OFM). They’ve produced or written for some of the hottest acts in pop music, including Jay Sean, JLS, Cody Simpson, Joe Jonas, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, Beyonce, Seal, Usher, Birdman, Fabolous, Janet Jackson, and Shakira.

Milwaukee, WI – The principles of pimping, according to former pimp-turned-author, Pimpin’ Ken, can be applied to the every day lives of the average citizen; from the decisions they make in their friendships and relationships to the roads they take in their business lives, and this is the basis of the curriculum at Pimpin’ Ken’s newly founded Pimp College .

Using the rules set forth in his highly successful book, “Pimpology: The 48 Laws of the Game” (Simon & Schuster, 2008), Professor Ken and fellow former pimp and protege, T.P. (Truth & Power), will conduct online classes, 48 in all, to those seeking to have more leverage in their day-to-day interactions with the people in their lives.

In Ken’s opinion, there is little difference in the way business is conducted in the streets or the boardroom. There are sharks everywhere and the stakes are high. By applying the principles broken down within the curriculum at Pimp College , you can always be assured of coming out on top. Gender is not an issue either for this is not about learning how to become a pimp. It is simply a way for Ken and T.P. to pass along the ‘game’ they have learned on their own journeys from doing street business to starting and running their own very successful business franchises. The combined businesses of these two entrepreneurs includes the production of 4 popular documentaries, a successful book release, an internet radio show, a rent-to-own realty agency, a fleet of vending machines, a record label and music collaborations with everyone from Puffy to Pimp C. All this from intelligently applying the principles each of them took away from their early years conducting business in the streets.

Classes at Pimp College will include examples like, “Law #2 – Get a name in the game” during which students are taught the importance of branding; how to go about it and how to keep the brand fresh. Other examples are “Law #12 – Ain’t no love in the game” where Professor Ken explains the importance of keeping your emotions out of your business dealings. As Ken puts it, “For a business to be successful, the bottom line must be the only thing you commit to. Feelings and emotions are irrelevant when it comes to making money. Business is no place for love. Money is all that matters; when the stock drops, drop the stock.”

Ten minute snippets of each new class will be posted to every 2 weeks and Ken’s 48 class curriculum can be purchased via his site from which buyers will be sent a secret access code upon completion of purchase.

Also on the horizon for Ken is release of his new book, “The Art of Human Chess” and a collaborative CD and multi-city tour with T.P. Stay tuned for details.

Music video for ‘Endless’ Feat Manifest:

Here is the debut solo album from Stone Circle ‘s 9 Lives. This superb fifteen track free download album was produced by Sir Prestige of the infamous Social Misfits Entertainment camp. This is an introduction to 9 Lives as a solo artist and is already receiving positive feedback from some of the main players in the UK Hip-Hop scene. This is real music with depth, soul and originality. 9 Lives may be described as a South West London based writing entity. Neither mere group member nor purely soloist, neither only emcee nor simply maker of instrumentals, he is multi faceted. This extends through both his input and output for the art form he loves. Perhaps 9 is best described as one fourth of what is collectively known as Stone Circle . The interest that 9 holds for music can be traced back to childhood. This was before his path even crossed with Hip-hop. However, once it did, his involvement in the industry began. In 1995, he co-founded what was to become Stone Circle , a four-piece crew of MCs with a freshness and uniqueness that has earned the respect of many of their peers.

In 2003, through Social Misfit Recordings, Stone Circle were able to release their debut album Infrastructure. This was to feature 9 Lives as a writer, performer, musician and producer.

To date, 9′s production and writing talents have featured across 5 various albums with an anticipated follow-up to Infrastructure planned by Stone Circle in the near future. Through his unique approach to music, lyrics and delivery he has been able to creatively mould his own sound.  Often introspective, 9 finds himself constantly drawing inspiration from the hardships and truimphs of his own life and those around him. All of these songs aspire towards a debut solo album intended to showcase the talents of an individual with something different to say.

9 Lives was recently a guest on prime-time Sky News Breakfast talking to Eamon Holmes about how his son was taken and then left in Jamaica without his consent and how he struggled through court proceedings to get him back. You can view the interview now on You Tube at this link… 9 Lives is now raising money for the charity ‘Reunite International’ who helped him to get his son back. Please visit the Just Giving page and feel free to donate any amount you wish as it really is for a good cause…

If you love proper hiphop with lyrical substance then do yourself a favour and take advantage of the generosity, download “The World Could Wait” now!

Russell Simmons Files Fraud and Breach of Contract Complaint Against Li & Fung, USA

Suit Seeks Court Ruling to Require Li & Fung USA to Pay Damages in Excess of $55 Million

NEW YORK, Sept. 9 — Russell Simmons today announced that his companies have filed a lawsuit in the Supreme Court of the State of New York against The Millwork Trading Co. LTD (Li & Fung, USA) for fraud and breach of contract in connection to the “American Classics By Russell Simmons” and “Russell Simmons Argyleculture” trademarks. The suit seeks compensatory and punitive damages in excess of $55 million.

In connection with the filing, Simmons released the following statement:

“Almost 20 years ago I pioneered a space that enabled an entire generation of minority designers and entrepreneurs to redefine the landscape of fashion. Similarly today, there is an enormous void in the market to fulfill the aspirations of the Urban Graduate, who has grown out of this urban fashion trend but isn’t represented by the mainstream brands. I set up Simmons Design Group, and its flagship brand, Argyleculture, to pioneer this vast open space.

In 2007, Li & Fung USA, a division of the Hong Kong-based apparel-sourcing powerhouse, which purported to be the market leader in the development of proprietary brands, approached me about obtaining the exclusive license for American Classics, my smart budget mass-market apparel brand. At that time we made it clear that Simmons Design Group’s main focus was Argyleculture, and that the two brands needed to work synergistically and belonged together. They expressed a false enthusiasm for my flagship brand in order to induce me into licensing them my mass-market brand.

Li & Fung USA and I came to terms on both agreements provided that Li & Fung USA use its best efforts to manufacture, sell and promote American Classics and Argyleculture licensed products in the US.

After two years of repeated misrepresentations, failed execution and lack of development and support, it is blatantly clear that Li & Fung USA never intended perform its contractual obligations under both Argyleculture and American Classics trademarks. Therefore I have taken this action to protect my partnerships with retailers and recover millions in damages on behalf of my brands and to protect my name and reputation in the industry.

Over the last 30 years and with the help of numerous partners, I’ve built successful groundbreaking businesses in music, apparel, television, film, jewelry, games and multiple charities and causes. Not once have I ever had to file a lawsuit. For the first time in my career I found myself with a partner in Li & Fung, which had executives who willfully and repeatedly put the integrity of my brands at risk.

With Simmons Design Group and it’s multiple licensees and powerful retail partners, I feel a strong commitment to pioneer a space that addresses a huge newly emerged demographic, the multi-racial, culturally sophisticated new American. I am taking direct control of the business and am in active discussions with future prospective partners.”

About Russell Simmons

Forbes Magazine recently named Russell Simmons one of “Hollywood’s Most Influential Celebrities.” USA Today named Russell Simmons one of the “Top 25 Most Influential People of the Past 25 Years,” calling him a “hip-hop pioneer” for his groundbreaking vision that has influenced music, fashion, finance, the jewelry industry, television and film, as well as the face of modern philanthropy. From creating his seminal Def Jam Recordings in 1984, to the 2007 publishing of his New York Times best-seller Do You! 12 Laws to Access the Power in You to Achieve Happiness and Success, Russell is recognized globally for his influence and entrepreneurial approach to both business and philanthropy. Giving back is of primary importance to him in all aspects of life and as Chairman and CEO of Rush Communications, he has consistently leveraged his influence in the recording industry, fashion, television, financial services, and jewelry sectors to give back. A devoted yogi, Russell leads the non-profit division of his empire, Rush Community Affairs, and its ongoing commitment to empowering at-risk youth through education, the arts, and social engagement. “I got six killaz rollin’ in a Cutlass, n*gga, I’m from L.A., from L.A. Don’t let me catch you slippin’ on the ‘Shaw at night, n*gga, I’m from L.A., from L.A. I rep the West Coast and my turf ’til I die, n*gga, I’m from L.A., from L.A. I give love to every hood wear the blue, n*gga, I’m from L.A., from L.A.” — Big Caz

September 10th 2010 — Fresh off his two-plus years musical sabbatical, semi-retired West Coast rap veteran, GUILLERMO “Big Caz” EILAND, has finally re-emerged with his brand new solo outing, Mo Thugs Records’ Presents Big Caz His-Story: Greatest Hood Hitz.

On the stellar career retrospective project, the ex-L.A. Gang-banger, whose harrowing journey ranges from the rough & tumble streets to the plush executive suites, unites with some of the finest in the biz; including, Akon, Game, Layzie Bone from Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, E-40, Tha Dogg Pound’s Kurupt, C-Bo, Knoc-turn’al, Boo Ya Tribe, Spider Loc, Shade Sheist, Nune, and the legendary, late, great, Tupac Shakur, with production courtesy of super-heavyweights; Dr. Dre, Just Blaze, Battlecat, Damizza, and HC.

Big Caz “officially” arrived onto the music scene back at the turn of the century. His heralded solo debut, Thundadome [2000], although not a huge commercial success, was warmly embraced by fans and critics alike. Since then, the Ecuadorian and Caucasian mixed emcee, known for his signature raspy vocal tone, has consistently managed to release popular street albums.
After forming an alliance with Layzie Bone, Caz was quickly recruited to an executive level within the Mo Thugs Records’ empire, and in recent years has been working primarily behind the scenes much more-so than in the spotlight. However, that is all destined to soon change with the inception of his forthcoming star-studded collection.
With sales of over 13 million records sold worldwide, and beginning with Mo Thugs Records’ Presents Big Caz His-Story: Greatest Hood Hitz, expect nothing but continued greatness to come throughout 2010 and beyond…

Big Caz is currently available for: Interviews, Show Bookings, Voice-overs, Songwriting, Features & Hooks, DJ Show Commercials, Event Hosting, Radio/TV Hosting, Acting & Commercials, and Public Speaking…
