Every rapper (well, most these days) need an edge or racy story to keep their name in the tabloids and remain relevant. For Roc Nation rapper J. Cole, it was the rumor that Rihanna and him had a sex tape. Though that would be awesome for J. Cole as well as his sexual needs, that is only one of the many rumors he displaced recently in a video surfacing of him talking to Wild 94.9 KYLD SF Nessa (Ness Nitty). Topics also discussed were his top 5 rappers dead or alive, which might or might not surprise you:
- 2pac
- Nas
- Andre 3000
- Jay-Z
- Eminem
Is that on your list as well? If not too bad, study your Hip Hop more reader! J. Cole also spent time talking about his favorite team (Lakers) and basketball players (shoutout to Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose, LeBron James, and Chris Paul). It’s no secrect Jermaine loves to play basketball himself, but if he were to play any position it would be small forward. Maybe a career in basketball he should pursue if this rap thing doesn’t work out! Lots of speculation rests on his debut album and how it will do; with two singles currently in rotation (Mr. Nice Watch with Jay-Z & Can’t Get Enough with Trey Songz), let’s see if J. Cole has enough artillery to hit the charts strong.
This brings up our next question J. Cole answered: did Jay-Z drop J. Cole from Roc Nation? Of course not, what sense would that make?! J. Cole is a very talented rapper that will go far; J. Cole simple answered ‘no’ on this question though. He has a girlfriend and loves Krispy Kreme donuts (who doesn’t?), and so for the final section of this interview Wild 94.9 brought his a dozen donuts out. How sweet! Send some over to us at Hip Hop Press as well so we can get our ‘nomnom’ on!
Reader, will you be purchasing J. Cole’s album ‘J. Cole: The Sideline Story’ tomorrow when it comes out? If so let’s hear your support in the comments!
