Youngstown, Ohio – September 7, 2010 – Several members of the Youngstown Hip-Hop scene have received Regional recognition, being nominated for an Ohio Hip Hop Award. The Ohio Hip Hop Awards founded in 2005 is an annual event that brings together the “Who’s Who” of Ohio Hip Hop for a weekend of networking, celebrating and appreciation culminating in the Ohio Hip Hop Awards Show. Nominees are selected by music industry insiders along with the OHHA board and based on successes from the previous year and public recommendation. The actual awards are given out based on total number of votes that are cast by the public on the website, www.OhioHipHopAwards.com.
Eleven nominees at this years awards are from the Youngstown area and some are nominated for more than one category. Nominees are Best Media Outlet-SelfMade TV; Best Group- Da Kreek; Best Radio Station-WRBP; Best Live Venue-Barley’s Pub; Best Commercial Mixshow DJ-DJ Stan The Man; Best Mixtape DJ-DJ DeviceSound; Best Male Artist-Kenny Ali; Best Album-Gotta Husle; , Best Radio Personality-Lucky Penny; Best New Artist-Lil’ CP; Best Live Performer-Gotta Husle; Best Mixtape DJ-DJ Don Kody.
SelfMade TV Producer, Chris Moss has teamed up with Hunid Racks Energy drink to celebrate the success of all the nominees this Sunday, Sept. 12th in Downtown Youngstown at Barley’s Pub.
