Peace Artists & Music Lovers:
Grassroots Artists MovEment (G.A.ME), an organization recognized for its accomplishments in developing leadership programs for young people, addressing food justice issues in the Bronx and its past initiatives geared to help low-income communities access quality healthcare is reexamining its strategies around its primary objective of unionizing artists in Hip-Hop and other musical genres and industries.
Although G.A.ME is still actively developing performance contracts and assisting artists with resources it has been several years since the last open artist forum. Underground and mainstream artists and the public are invited to join the open discussion. There will be no panel of experts.
Virtually, every major Hip-Hop magazine including the Source and XXL has covered G.A.ME’s goals around developing an artist union. From Common to Jay-Z and RZA to 50CENT, many artists are in the loop about G.A.ME’s long-term mission to unite Hip-Hop artists against an exploitative music industry of few executives. Part of G.A.ME’s goal is to redistribute Hip-Hop’s funds back into low-income Black and Brown communities.
The long-awaited artist meeting is more of a social discussion which will include a 30-minute presentation by G.A.ME and plenty of mingling. G.A.ME is providing Vegetarian & your standard BBQ cuisine along with alcoholic beverages for attendees 21 and up. A menu will follow online. Shoutouts to our Host Qui’chua for some of the most breath-taking views you can find in NYC. There is no fee, but there’s a suggested donation of $5.00. R.I.P Fat Beats on 6th Ave.
If you plan to attend, you MUST RSVP to 718-690-3393, contact@kickgame.com or via facebook. You must be 18 or older to attend.
