(Los Angeles, March 2010) – Fluorescent skinny jeans, hand painted t-shirts, flat-tops to fades, and a few innovative dance moves have turned the streets of LA into the perfect location to start a fresh new movement. Taking over fashion, dance, and music, Jerkin' teens are able to express themselves freely and creatively amongst each other. Mixing West Coast vibes with dance friendly tempos, Jerkin' music is holding its place in the top of the charts and online social sites of today's youth.
Jerkin' started as a West Coast street-style movement, that in no time has spread countrywide. Arsenal Records gathered the top artists from the greater Southern California area to form Super Jerkin: Vol 1, a showcase of the true beginnings of the Jerkin' movement.
Artists featured on Super Jerkin: Vol. 1 collectively have over 25 million plays on Myspace, 4 million views on YouTube, and 30,000 followers on Twitter. YG, recently signed to Def Jam Records, is one of the most recognizable names on the compilation with his hit, Bad B*tch. Pink Dollaz, a female rap group based out of West LA, command a position in the Jerkin' community with their hit Gucci Song. JINC Ent., a collective group of 5 rappers from the Los Angeles area, make you get up and dance with their single, Bad Chick Alert.
On March 16th, 2010, Arsenal Records will present Super Jerkin: Vol. 1 as the very first compilation of 12 different artists to be released nationwide. With artists at the forefront of this movement such as YG, Pink Dollaz, JINC Ent, Asia Lynn, YT, TayF3rd, and many more Super Jerkin: Vol. 1 is a true showcase of talent in the Jerkin' community.
