Los Angeles, February 1st — Underground Girls Of Hip Hop will bring down the house at the "2010 Female Hip Hop Honors," as the best of the best in Female hip hop past, present & future come together for one legendary night.

2010 FEMALE HIP-HOP HONORS is an award show that breaks all of the rules of conventionalism. Unlike the Grammy Awards or the Billboard Music Awards, the 2010 FEMALE HIP-HOP HONORS were created to acknowledge and honor the achievements and contributions of legendary females in hip-hop, unsigned and independent artists within the urban music scene. Every year there are incredible records released by independent labels and artists. Very rarely do the institutional accolades of the music industry reach or embrace female hip-hop artist, independent music or the community of artists and fans who now represent 25% of all global music sales. Hence, 2010 FEMALE HIP-HOP HONORS was born to fill that void.

This celebration is an opportunity for the ladies of hip-hop to come together and celebrate the beauty and spirit of the female presence in the genre. This event serves as a night to celebrate the culture and the essence of their craft. The award ceremony will consist of female emcees of the past and present that have made a difference in hip-hop. We will also present (2) honorees with the UGG Hip-hop Estrogen Award. Throughout the night we will also give awards and acknowledgment to those who are making strides in the industry today.

Taped at the Radisson Hotel on Saturday, May 22nd in Los Angeles, the music and influence of each of the honorees will be recognized through performances by classic artists in collaboration with today's hottest new talent.
