NEW YORK, NY – February 3rd, 2010 – On Wednesday, February 24th, Angela Yee of Sirius Satellite Radio and DJ Absolut of Hot 97 will host the latest group of artists-to-watch, including popular rapper Curren$y, at the eighth installment of the Leaders of the New Cool (LOTNC) at 92Y Tribeca in New York City. Hollywood East Entertainment, Free Integrated Media and Soul Rebel NYC will present this special engagement featuring performances by Curren$y, Stalley, Skotch Davis, Tiara Wiles, Mikkey Halsted, Rich Hil, Esso and Nero, all of whom share one major factor: their ability to redefine the current urban music landscape.  92Y Tribeca is located at 200 Hudson Street (at Canal).
The upcoming Leaders of the New Cool: NYC will additionally feature the debut of "Don't Quit Your Day Job", a contest based on Angela Yee's Sirius Radio segment of the same name. The "Don't Quit Your Day Job" winner will be selected by an industry panel featuring Shani Gonzales (National Director A&R, Def Jam Universal), Walt Jones (Manager of A&R Creative, Sony ATV Publishing), Ryan Press (National Director A&R, Warner/Chappell Publishing) and Simone Kapsilides (Content Manager, DrJays.com).
Over the course of the last six months as the Leaders of the New Cool have traveled the country, it has quickly become a nationwide "go-to" for those looking to discover what and who defines the "new cool." Already successful in New York City, Atlanta and Chicago, additional Leaders of the New Cool events are in the works for Detroit, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia.
