LA King Hockey Player Wayne Simmonds to be honored during Black History Month in a private red carpet reception

To be held at The Staples Arena Club, Thursday, February 11th, 2010 @ 10PM

Many celebrities and city officials will be on hand including Tichina Arnold (Everybody Hates Chris) and legendary R&B singer Howard Hewett

Confirmed City Officials include: Senator Roderick Wright, Senator Curren Price and Mayor pro-tem Mitch Ward

Los Angeles,California, Thursday, January 04th, 2010 – Canadian born African-American hockey player Wayne Simmonds will be honored for his outstanding achievements to the game of hockey by the City of Los Angeles on February 11th, 2010 at the Staples Arena Club @ 10:00PM. There will be many celebrities and dignitaries on hand for this prestigious honor.

The event will be hosted by legendary R&B singer singer Howard Hewett. Tichina Arnold from Everybody Hates Chris will also be on hand and will be singing the National Anthem at the game to take place earlier in the evening. Other celebrities confirmed include: Ernest Thomas (Everybody Hates Chris), R&B Singer Une', Pop/R&B Singer Tionne Williams, Pop/R&B Singer Trueful, Roger E. Moseley and  J.D. Hall.

Many invited guest among them are:  Comedienne Luenell, comedienne Annie McKnight, comedian Peanutt, comedian Shang, comedian Red Grant, percussionist/music producer Ollie E.Brown, percussionist Paris Escovedo, music producer William Hanford Lee Jr, legendary music producer Kashif.
