DISCO GETS A MODERN SPIN IN MTV’S NEW ORIGINAL MOVIE “TURN THE BEAT AROUND” PREMIERING FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 26 AT 10 PM ET/PT

Film Features Fresh Soundtrack With Original Remakes of Classic Disco Songs by Some of Today's Hottest Artists Including Jason Derulo and Cobra Starship

NEW YORK , NY (February, 2010) – MTV is hitting the dance floor in the next original network movie "Turn The Beat Around" premiering Friday, February 26 at 10p.m. ET/PT.  This marks the second premiere from the new slate of original movies produced by MTV.  The film will also make its way to DVD March 9, 2010, from MTV Home Entertainment and Paramount Home Entertainment.

Set in the competitive L.A. dance scene, the film tells the story of Zoe (Romina D'Ugo), a struggling young dancer who gets the opportunity to fulfill her dreams when she convinces Michael (David Giuntoli), a wealthy nightclub owner, to open a new club with a disco theme.  However, as Zoe gets closer to realizing her professional ambitions, her personal and professional lives collide and she finds herself caught between the club's young owner, her dancer boyfriend (Adam Taylor Brooks) and the sexy, overly ambitious choreographer (Brooklyn Sudano) she might be about to replace.  Zoe must fight to overcome all the obstacles before her, in order to become the dancer she's always wanted to be.

Featuring stunning dance sequences that combine cutting edge hip hop dance moves with stylized classic disco, the film also features a special performance by Pop/R&B sensation Jason Derulo ("Whatcha Say") in his first on-screen role and a new soundtrack, with original remakes of classic disco songs by some of today's most popular new acts including Cobra Starship and Sing It Loud.

"Turn The Beat Around" Stars: Romina D'Ugo ("So you Think you Can Dance Canada "), Adam Taylor Brooks ("90210"), David Giuntoli ("Without a Trace," "Privileged") and Brooklyn Sudano ("90210").  Tre Armstrong ("How She Move," "So You Think You Can Dance Canada ") serves as  choreographer and Evan Bogart (Beyonce's "Halo") serves as music producer. Executive Producers are: Tony Krantz for Flame Ventures, and Steve Levitan for Protocol Entertainment, Bradley Walsh serves as director. Tre Armstrong serves as choreographer and music supervisor is Evan Bogart. Lisa Silfen, Chris Linn and Robin Palmer serve as executives for MTV.
