Sole Collector and Scion Launch New Sneaker Release Dates iPhone Application

The ReleaseDates iPhone application is where to go to find the latest sneaker releases like the Space Jams and Jordan 2010, see fresh and original images, as well as where to get exclusive kicks news from brands, like Jordan Brand, Nike, adidas and Reebok.

Key Largo, FL (PRWEB) January 12, 2010 — Sole Collector, with the help of Scion, has branched off into a whole new world of interactivity. The same premium experience Sole Collector delivers through their magazine and SoleCollector.com has recently gone mobile. Owners of the iPhone now have a place to find the latest sneaker release information first, exclusive images of the newest kicks and even more original content from Sole Collector through the ReleaseDates application available through iTunes. According to Steve Mullholand, Publisher and Editor-In-Chief of Sole Collector Magazine, this app is important for anyone interested in shoes because, "To stay on top of your sneaker game you need to know what shoes are coming out and when. This app focuses on upcoming shoe releases as well as sneaker news that will keep people fresh."

Sole Collector is very excited to have been working with Scion on this project. In fact, the app's interface is based on the Scion XB's own GPS system and allows users to easily navigate through the sections of the app, which include Releases, News, Rank 'em, Wish List and Scion AV. According to Mullholand, "SCION has been a great partner for years, and as we've found out, the SCION consumers are the Sole Collector consumers. SCION has a great name and has always been at the forefront of new and unique ideas, and I'm glad they worked with us to create a truly unique application."

The heart of the application resides in the release dates section as this is where upcoming kicks can be sorted by date, price, brand or rank. According to Mullholand, "From reading about them / rating them / wish listing and following your favorite shoes – no other app does this." Just touch the picture of a pair of kicks in order to find out where and when they will be available, to post comments, to add them to the wish list, or to share the release with a friend through email and/or Twitter.

The News section holds the latest news from Jordan Brand, Nike, adidas, Reebok, and all of the biggest sneaker companies. Sole Collector will be dropping exclusive stories and images there first, even before they hit SoleCollector.com. Push updates alert users when anything new hits the app.

On the interactive front, the Wish List feature allows users to track which shoes they plan to pick up, and will automatically keep tabs on the cash that list will cost. It will even remind users a week before the releases are due to hit the streets. "I think the Wish List option is very important. With so many upcoming releases, it is tough to remember what is coming out when. The Wish List keeps your favorite shoes in one list, plus it keeps track of the money you'll be spending the next 30 days and next 12 months. The ranking and comments functionality is a bonus so you can read what other people are saying. Sometimes you learn some real interesting information by doing this. Plus it is always interesting to see how other people ranked each shoe," explains Mullholand. Through the Rank 'em feature, users can share their thoughts on each shoe by giving it a score of 1 through10, 10 being the highest.

Finally, be sure to check out the Scion AV section, where users can listen to music selections from Scion AV while they are viewing all the latest sneaker info. The latest Scion news is available through their RSS feed.

Now iPhone users can take Sole Collector everywhere they go. The app is currently available, either directly from the iPhone or via iTunes. Updates to the app are coming soon.
