Altared Lives Radio isn't prerecorded on another radio station then offered online for download like a podcast. ALR is a live stream. ALR offers a playlist of over 1,000 music tracks featuring hundreds of signed and unsigned Gospel hip hop artists — renowned as well as underground emcees – who boldly represent Jesus Christ.

History: ALR began as "The Altared Lives Radio Broadcast" on a local radio station in Lakeland, FL in 1992. The show ran weekly from 1992-1999, with a 2-year break from 1995-1997.
Altared Lives "dot com" began in 1999 after the local broadcast ceased. But there was no radio station associated with AltaredLives.com in 1999. It wasn't until Resurrection Day Weekend in 2002 that "Altared Lives Radio" was birthed online, in the Live365.com network of stations.
In 2002, ALR started out playing urban Gospel music primarily.  When the Altared Lives "dot org" web site was launched in 2003 following the incorporation of Altared Lives Ministries, Inc., "Altared Lives Radio" became fully identified with the Altared Lives Ministries web site. At that time, the ministry's founder, Donna McCormick, felt led of God to convert the station's format to 95% Christian hip hop with 5% Rhythm-n-Gospel interspersed in the playlist. Finally ALR became independent from Live365.com in 2005 and remains independent today.
