New York, NY November 11, 2009-- In a world of superficial news, mundane blogs, and cookie-cutter radio stations, one station is making strides to stand above the rest. Music of Class (MOC) Radio Urban Network, a national leader in online radio, announces the launch of its online publication, MOC Radio Magazine (MRM).
Offering an up close and personal glimpse at the entertainment industry with breaking stories, exclusive interviews, album reviews, and television recaps, MRM also delivers sports news, thought-provoking political commentaries, fitness and beauty tips, uplifting spiritual messages, and relationship advice.
"We wanted to build a conglomerate, and so we created a lifestyle publication to accompany our station," states Lorenzo "LC" Caldwell, MOC's founder, Programming Director, and Editor-in-Chief. This expansion has been five years in the making. What began as a simple podcast in 2004 has burgeoned into a full service online radio station with over 7,000 daily visitors. Featuring an array of the hottest Hip Hop, R&B, Reggae, Old School, Slow Jamz, House, Gospel, and Underground music, MOC Radio reigns as an alternative to conventional programming.
About the Founder. With over 25 years of music industry expertise, LC Caldwell has fashioned his creative vision into something tangible-and noteworthy-with MOC Radio. Now based in Florida, LC is the premiere Saturday night DJ on Miami's #1 station, Hot 105 FM, and can also be heard on Boston's new Touch 106.1 FM as well as WKJS Kiss FM in Richmond, Virginia.
A member of the world's largest disc jockey organization, Core DJs, Caldwell is currently working on remixes, producing acts for MOC Productions, and leading the Urban-Rhythmic radio division for Clear Channel's Mediabase in Los Angeles, California. -more-
About the Managing Editor. "Prior to joining the team, I noticed that MOCradio.com offered something many stations lacked-and that's great music for ALL generations," says Managing Editor UniQue Webster. "It was a no-brainer when LC presented the idea of expanding into an online publication because the foundation was already there." Webster brings a decade of entertainment experience to MOC Radio with a rather impressive résumé. Having previously served on VH-1's "Save the Music" development team and as Celebrity Editor of BE Magazine, she catapulted into a multidimensional career as a production assistant for BET's "Teen Summit." Webster was also the Special Events Manager for the VIP screening of the motion picture "Sherrybaby," starring Golden Globe-nominated Maggie Gyllenhaal and benefiting the New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault; spearheaded the promotion and marketing of the "Roc the Mic Against Rape" campaign hosted by Ilyasah Shabazz (daughter of Malcolm X); was the Producer/Show Coordinator for Philadelphia's local cable program "Champagne and Candlelights"; co-wrote and directed her first theater production "Money…Power… Respect…," which debuted at the Publick Playhouse in Cheverly, Maryland; and freelanced for various online newsletters and magazines.
"I'm elated to be a part of something that's dedicated to providing relevant, informative, and entertaining substance on a global scale," Webster affirms. And just as her name implicates, Ms. Webster is unique in countless facets of her life.
