Afrika Bambaataa came along, formed the Zulu Nation in the Bronx and soon formal crews organized, who not only practiced and preformed together, but who also developed their own dance routines. The 'B' in B-Boy stands for 'break': Break-Boy. The term 'break' refers to The break-sections of records which were extended by a DJ manipulating two copies of the same track. A B-boy would dance to these 'Breaks' the media then coined the phrase 'Breakdancing' from this.  A few of the most well known crews are the Jinjo Crew, New York City Breakers, Rock Steady Crew, Recognize Crew, Style Elements Crew, LA Breakers, Last For One, Super Cr3w, Gamblerz, Mortal Combat, Flying Steps, and Massive Monkeys.
