CHICAGO (October 23, 2009)- Singer/songwriter/actress/community leader/entrepreneur Drew Sidora prepares for the Slip-N-Slide Records debut release of 'Juke It' a pop dance anthem that honors the culture and movement created in her native hometown Chicago, Illinois. The single is produced by Lamb who sonically created the Grammy-nominated hit by Keyshia Cole 'Let It Go' featuring Missy Elliott and Lil' Kim and Jazmine Sullivan's breakout smash 'Need U Bad'. Plus, he is working on Grammy-award winning producer/rapper Missy Elliott's highly anticipated album due in early 2010.
In December 2008, Drew Sidora signed her record deal with iconic independent rap label Slip-N-Slide Records home to hip-hop heavyweights Rick Ross, Trina and Plies. Plus, the home to a new legacy of music artists with Jagged Edge, Camar, Atiba and R&B newcomer Shonie. Drew Sidora is the 1st female pop act in the history of the label. Sidora describes the lead single and her transition from acting to music and the challenges she faces as a new R&B/pop sensation.
"From film to music, I will continue to defy all boundaries... Don't bet against me," she states.
Sidora has received airplay domestically and internationally with the underground internet tracks 'Not Alone' featuring reggae phenom and labelmate Atiba. Plus, she is featured on the infectious pop dance track 'Body Sweat' by emerging entertainer Tha Pope and lyrical spitfire Twista. The single has reached #1 on royal-radio.com Top 10 request in Amsterdam. Toronto and Montreal, Canada are other strong international markets where the single is getting extensive airplay. Drew is also the recipient of the gold-selling Step Up soundtrack that included her 2 singles 'For The Love' a duet with platinum selling R&B male vocalist Mario and 'Til The Dawn'.
In July 2009, Drew Sidora signed with ICM (International Creative Management) the world's largest talent agency whose list of clients includes Samuel L. Jackson, Al Pacino, Mickey Rourke, Halle Berry, Beyoncé Knowles just to name a notable few. International Creative Management (ICM) is one of the world's largest talent and literary agencies, with offices in Los Angeles, New York, and London. ICM is a full-service talent agency representing creative and technical talent in the fields of motion pictures, television, music, publishing, live performance, branded entertainment and new media.
There will be a number of movie releases that feature Drew Sidora in the coming months including the break-dancing film B Girl, tender drama that is scheduled to be released on DVD in the UK mid October and January 19th 2010 in the US. The Killing of Wendy and horror flick Farmhouse with Kelly Hu (X-Men). The urban comedy Frankenhood starring Deray Davis and Charlie Murphy is already available on DVD and will air on BET Halloween.
As a community leader and activist, Drew Sidora is already a spokesperson for Liz Claiborne's Love Is Not Abuse campaign which discusses teen domestic abuse an violence. Recently, Sidora did the NoH8 print campaign with model/actor Sam Sarong which supports marriage rights for everyone. Drew Sidora plans to lend her support to the epidemic of rampant violence in her hometown Chicago, Illinois through a series of appearances at high schools in the near future.
Currently, Sidora is auditioning for movie roles, and preparing a promotional tour that will integrate her upcoming album (set to be released in spring of 2010) and her different causes that she supports passionately as she continues her journey on conquering different mediums.
