CHICAGO (October 23, 2009)- Singer/songwriter/actress/community leader/entrepreneur Drew Sidora prepares for the Slip-N-Slide Records debut release of 'Juke It' a pop dance anthem that honors the culture and movement created in her native hometown Chicago, Illinois. The single is produced by Lamb who sonically created the Grammy-nominated hit by Keyshia Cole 'Let It Go' featuring Missy Elliott and Lil' Kim and Jazmine Sullivan's breakout smash  'Need U Bad'.  Plus, he is working on Grammy-award winning producer/rapper Missy Elliott's highly anticipated album due in early 2010.

In December 2008, Drew Sidora signed her record deal with iconic independent rap label Slip-N-Slide Records home to hip-hop heavyweights Rick Ross, Trina and Plies. Plus, the home to a new legacy of music artists with Jagged Edge, Camar, Atiba and R&B newcomer Shonie. Drew Sidora is the 1st female pop act in the history of the label. As a community leader and activist, Drew Sidora is already a spokesperson for Liz Claiborne's Love Is Not Abuse campaign which discusses teen domestic abuse an violence. HARLEM FUSION SCORES ANOTHER HIT WITH SOUL SHACK URBAN MUSIC SHOWCASE

October 2009 – - Atlanta, GA – Soul Shack Urban Music Showcase held its debut on Thursday October 22, 2009. Executive Produced by Shakesha Dennis-Williams of Harlem Fusion, Creator and former producer of Soul Sessions, the showcase features the hottest unsigned urban musicians from around the country performing for one of the sexiest most eclectic crowds in Atlanta. The success of Soul Shack is due mainly to the caliber of performances seen at the showcase.

The show kicked off with a rousing performance by band Elevate the Quest featuring vocalist Trece. This band is quickly becoming an Atlanta can be seen weekly at Café Circa. The showcase was hosted by the always funny and lively Dwayne Williams.  Rapper Big Jenk gave a rousing performance for the crowd. Next, Avery Floyd performed an original piece. Rap duo 2 Xclusive gave the crowd lots of energy while Matt Griswold performed some acoustic pieces reminiscent of John Mayer and Asher Roth. R&B sensation, The DooWhopBoiz brought down the house and serenaded the crowd while Hip Hop Trio Kollege Kids gave us a slow jam. Mr. Kalarific brought his brand of dirty south hip hop 40 West hooked the crowd up with his own version of Floetry's "Say Yes". Daya Lorin tore it down with two acapella Gospel pieces and Joseph Anthony made the stage his own with his original songs.

Artists interested in a chance to perform in Soul Shack Urban Music Showcase should register to audition. Auditions for upcoming shows are being held on Saturday, December 5th and 19th at Central Library located at 1 Margaret Mitchell Square NW, Atlanta, GA 30303. Auditions will take place from 2pm to 6pm. Auditions are by appointment. Walk ins are welcome but not guaranteed an audition slot.

Internationally Recognized Entertainer and Krumping Legend Tommy the Clown to Judge at Nordic Moves Street Dance Event in Helsinki, Finland

Helsinki, Finland— Famed entertainer and dancer Tommy the Clown will be a judge at the upcoming 2010 Nordic Moves street dance event on January 23-24 in Helsinki, Finland.  The event, which attracts the best dancers from Finland, Russia, Latvia, Denmark, Spain, Switzerland, Morocco, Japan and the U.S., is especially known for its good atmosphere and esteemed judging panel.
 
Nordic Moves, an event which attracted over 200 dancers and 2000 spectators last year, consists of the Juste Debout preliminary competition, a showcase night and the Open Finnish Crew Championship.  Tommy the Clown will be judging the Open Finnish Crew Championship which is open to all street dance styles such as Old School Hip Hop, Newstyle, B-boying, Locking, Popping, House, Krumping, Waacking and more.  The championship, organized by the Finnish Street Dance Federation, allows all street dance crews with 2-7 dancers without age or citizenship restrictions to compete.  Along with Tommy the Clown, other street dance legends such as Boogaloo Sam, Mr. Wiggles, Popin' Pete, Suga Pop, Tony GoGo, B-boy Ynot, Kaiti Dangerkat and Bruce Ykanji will be judges on the championship panel.
 
Following the competition, the event will host a Showcase night which will feature some of the biggest world-class names in street dance and will include Tommy the Clown and one of his dancing crew, Rampage.  Rampage has trained at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy and is a certified instructor of Clown Street Productions.  He has appeared in music videos with R&B sensation Chris Brown and has traveled internationally teaching dance in Germany and Italy.
 
Tommy the Clown, known as the pioneer of an inspirational dance movement known as "Clowning" and "Krumping," has made a popular form of birthday party entertainment into a worldwide phenomenon.  He has traveled all over the world with his crew, the Hip Hop Clowns, including London, Japan, Germany and Hong Kong, making various appearances and performances and inspiring people all over the world to keep spreading the movement.  Tommy the Clown and the Hip Hop Clowns have also been asked to entertain for celebrities such as Madonna, Pamela Anderson and Cedric the Entertainer.

Making a world-wide impact on the street dancing sensation, Tommy's dance craze caught the attention of award-winning director and photographer, David LaChapelle – who was compelled to film this amazing movement.  LaChapelle directed the documentary feature, "Rize," which was released in summer of 2005 through Lions Gate Films.
 
Dedicated to helping at-risk youth, Tommy has appeared at various schools and colleges across the United States and recently formed a partnership with the Los Angeles Unified School District to provide an in-school workshop on Clowning and Krumping based on the California Education Standards.  His immediate goal is to establish the "Battle Zone League," which will encourage students to maintain good behavior, attendance record, and a high grade point average at all times.
Earlier this year, Tommy the Clown and Snoop Dogg announced a partnership to create on organization called the C.L.O.U.T. (Changing Lives One Youth at a Time) Foundation. The foundation will aim to provide a creative and social outlet for at-risk youth in order to funnel the kids' misplaced creative energy into dance instead of gang violence, crime, and abuse. The first event organized by C.L.O.U.T. was a monthly Battle Night, held at the Los Angeles Trade-Technical College's Grand Theater.  The event allowed young people from middle to high school from the Los Angeles area to compete and showcase their individual talents before an audience of their peers. Youth were encouraged to express themselves through drama, dance, song, poetry or comedy, which promoted a positive and self-affirming lifestyle for kids by developing and showcasing their diverse artistic talents.

She Like Girls will play a five-week limited engagement at Off-Broadway's Ohio Theatre (66 Wooster Street). Performances begin Tuesday, December 1 and continue through Wednesday, December 30 (with a break the 24th-26th). Opening Night is Thursday, December 3 (8 p.m.).
 
Inspired by true events, She Like Girls, follows the story of Kia Clark, a black teen, as she struggles with brutal self-discovery in the face of a non-accepting, insular community where falling outside of the norm is difficult and dangerous.  When Kia's relationship with Marisol Feliciano moves from friendship to something more, the absence of understanding and respect in their volatile urban environment create ripples of vehement hate. Chisa Hutchinson's She Like Girls is the story of two inner-city high school girls who fall in love and dare to challenge their world by choosing freedom over silence.

BIOGRAPHIES
 
Chisa Hutchinson (Playwright) earned a B.A. in Playwriting from Vassar College, studied at the National Theatre Institute at the Eugene O'Neill Center, and is currently pursuing her M.F.A. in the Dramatic Writing Department at NYU/Tisch School of the Arts.  Her plays have been presented by various companies such as the Lark Play Development Center, Vital Theater, The BE Company, Working Man's Clothes, City Parks Theater, and the Atlantic Theater Company.  She tends to use her works, which include She Like Girls, The Good Mother, The Subject, Dirt Rich, and Choosing Love, as tools for probing social issues, and has been lauded by critics as "present[ing] the greatest opportunity to think" (Talkin' Broadway) and having "intense and striking vision" (nytheatre.com).  Chisa has been nominated twice for the highly selective Wasserstein Prize, twice selected as a finalist for the Weissberger Award (2009 decision pending), and chosen as a finalist for the New Generation Playwriting Award, the Otis Guernsey New Voices Playwriting Award (pending), and the Heideman Award (also pending).  Having just finished two major commissions, Chisa is now working on two spankin' new plays: one for her thesis, and the other for the Playground, an intense workshop program at the Lark Play Development Center, where she now serves as a member of the Artistic Cabinet.
 
Jared Culverhouse (Director)   is a native Texan who moved to New York after graduating from Texas State University. He founded Working Man's Clothes on a no nonsense, blue collar approach and the company has thrived since first working Green by Bekah Brunstetter way back in 2005. Jared has been seen in NYC productions such as Penetrator, To Nineveh ( six NYIT awards ), and Fuckplays ( two NYIT nominations). His directing credits include Pulling Teeth ( American Place Theatre ), Men Eat Mars Bars While Touching Their Penis (Under St. Marks ), and is now happy to add She Like Girls to that list. Working Man's Clothes has been instrumental in developing over forty plays through workshops, readings, and performances. Jared is pleased to work with Chisa Hutchinson a great emerging playwright and person.
