Upcoming mixtape album Too Much TV features hip-hop reinterpretations of TV's most memorable theme songs
ATLANTA, GA (July 2009) — On July 13, Session and Willie Beamen will flex their musical muscles and do their part to save hip hop when they release "Bionic Man," the lead single from their upcoming mixtape Too Much TV. Listen to the mp3, watch the video, or download both at http://2muchtelevision.ning.com. The video is also available for viewing on YouTube at youtube.com/watch?v=7pNAvwdnk4Q.
On Too Much TV, slated for a July 28 release, the two emcees rhyme over hip-hop reinterpretations of television's most memorable theme songs. Produced by Session, "Bionic Man" flips the theme of 70s TV show The Six Million Dollar Man into a robust, energetic beat that recalls the hip hop heroics of Ghost, Red, and Luda's "Superthugs." Says Session, "I was going for that aggression. I wanted to make something triumphant."
Both currently residing in Atlanta, these Massachusetts natives appreciate the distinct sound of the Dirty South. With "Bionic Man," they manage to mix East Coast lyricism with a little ATL crunk to bridge the miles and musical styles. Whether Willie's delivering witty lines about Martin, Tekken, and tube socks, or Session's spitting reality raps about making moves and earning respect, they flow with the confidence and skill of stars on the rise who've paid dues, put in time, and are ready to shine.
In addition to this one-off collaboration, both Beamen and Session record and perform as solo artists. Too Much TV is their joint effort to demonstrate their talent, increase their profiles, and establish relationships with new fans, media outlets, and music industry insiders. Hip hop enthusiasts are invited to listen, view, and/or download the "Bionic Man" single and video; online publications and blogs are encouraged to upload the song and/or video to their sites; and radio/television channels are welcome to add the song or video to their playlists.
