Since its inception, DJ B-Mello has been a mainstay of the KEXP urban music community.  Known best for supporting independent artists, getting them heard on the radio and keeping a close ear to the underground scene, DJ B-Mello is making some changes in his career.
"KEXP has been an amazing experience for me and it will always  be a huge part of who I am as a DJ and what I stand for in terms of discovery of new music and the support of developing talent.  Change is good, I'm looking forward to what's coming next.
DJ B-Mello known well for developing the highly influential radio show Street Sounds for KEXP since the day the station opened, is leaving KEXP to pursue more national music industry career moves.
B-Mello will always maintain his roots in the Northwest and fans can continue to hear him on air Monday thru Friday on the Mixtape at 8 and Traffic Jam both top rated radio shows on KUBE 93 FM.
But new opportunity has come to B-Mello who is now scheduled to consult for the new Death Row Records – aka Wideawake Death Row Entertainment working Death Row product  in North America including working with radio programmers, clubs, DJ's, special remix contests and initiatives.
"Given my long history living in the Northwest before becoming the CEO of WIDEawake Entertainment Group, I am really happy to create an opportunity for B-Mello and work closely with him to help bring new life into Death Row. I think having someone who really understands the national and international club scene and how Death Row can play in is a huge a plus for our company."
B-Mello won best West Coast DJ of the Year in 2006 and has not stopped.  He still maintains his on air presence as well as being a sought after club and party DJ.

ABOUT DJ B-MELLO
DJ B-Mello is one of the most well rounded and respected DJs in the game. He got his start in the mixtape game distributing his street-level mixtapes worldwide which soon gave him his break in radio on Seattle's KCMU.   B-Mello is currently mixing 5  nights a week on  KUBE 93  in Seattle and has been featured up and down the west coast from The Beat in Canada, Jammin 95.5 in Portland to California stations such as KMEL in San Francisco & Power 106 in LA.  He's also been  on SHADE 45 on Sirius/XM Satellite Radio.  B was Voted WESTCOAST DJ OF THE YEAR  and received his award during The 9th Annual Power Summit in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.     
A veteran battle, mixtape, and party deejay, he has opened up for many major Hip Hop groups, including 50 Cent, T.I., Outkast, E-40, Ludacris, The Roots, Nas, Run DMC, De La Soul, and Common just to name a few. B-Mello was a West Coast DMC finalist competing against Shortkut, Babu, Melo-D, Rhettmatic, and other amazing turntablists. He won the DJ Soundwar in Canada (judged by Q-Bert). He has judged battles for ITF, Freestyle Sessions, Guitar Center, and for the DMC regional and finals in both the U.S and Canada.     
B's knack for reading a crowd has always made him one of the top club & party DJs and he has showcased his talents around the world in venues and radio stations and B  currently remains WESTCOAST DJ OF THE YEAR.  He was also honored by being cast as a character in the  SCARFACE video game along with other actors & music professionals.  
The social networking site Myspace.com named DJ B-Mello an official Myspace DJ and he currently has a fanbase/network of 120,000+ friends and he has gained over a million plays and  over a half a million views of his videos.  He also has 5,100+ followers on his new Twitter account as of June 2009.   
His history in the hip hop began really early at the age of 12 as a b-boy and his accolades are incredible. He's been featured in many magazines such as VIBE, The Source, XXL, Rap Sheet and his professional resume is very extensive all pertaining to hip hop. He's been a club/event/radio DJ, a radio personality,  a journalist/music editor, as well as handles promotions and marketing for music, movies, & other products targeted towards urban lifestyles as well as the mainstream masses. B-Mello has been featured in music videos, on records, & has also lectured and demonstrated the art of deejaying and the History of the Hip Hop deejay at the University of Washington, Seattle Art Museum, and at Seattle's Experience Music Project to name a few.     
B-Mello has some seriously major affiliations – The Core DJs, a collaboration of heavy DJs from across the country headed up by Tony Neal with such members as The Baka Boyz, Green Lantern, Clinton Sparks, Big Tigger, & Kid Capri. The Core is a foundation and is more like a family than a DJ coalition.
