Brooklyn Bodega announce the return of “Show and Prove” at Public Assembly, August 27th

Brooklyn, NY July 13th, 2009
Following a successful production this past Spring, Brooklyn Bodega and YUME have decided to bring back "Show and Prove."

For those that don't know, "Show and Prove" is a competition/showcase where up and coming artists who think they have what it takes to rock the biggest crowd in Brooklyn, daringly show and prove their skills. This is the first of many showcases to come this Fall.

What's the point of it all since the Brooklyn Hip Hop Festival (BHF) isn't for another year?

Well, first and foremost, should you be interested in getting your talents recognized early in the game, you just might be the next artist to open up at the BHF 2010. The producers and creators of this highly recognized event have stepped it up and are preparing for next year's Festival as we speak. Get on their radar early and the odds will fall in your favor. Secondly, Brooklyn Bodega has a vast assortment of events in store for you in the coming months. Get noticed and you might be the opening act or even the headliner to some of these forthcoming proceedings.

"We launched 'Show and Prove' this March as a means to help promote the 5th Annual Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival. It was a wild success that gave us our winners Brown Bag All Stars as well as Children Of The Night and brokn.englsh. We believe its success was due to the lack of opportunity for aspiring artists. After 'All That' and 'End Of The Weak' your options get slim. That makes no sense for a market as fertile as New York City. So we are looking forward to doing our part to continue to support the local and independent Hip-Hop culture with the return of 'Show and Prove.' This will be a great way to put your bid in for BHF 2010 but we will also be announcing a partnership with another venue in Brooklyn which will give 'Show and Prove' a larger stage to rock similar to how we did for 2009," Brooklyn Bodega President Wes Jackson.
