Brooklyn Borough President has officially declared Saturday June 27, 2009 QUEEN AFUA DAY in Broklyn, NY to honor of the highly proclaimed Queen Afua's Heal Thyself Natural Living Center expanding to become The Queen Afua Wellness Institute (QAWI). The Grand Opening Celebration will include a ribbon cutting ceremony, an up close and personal Q&A session with Grammy Award Winning singer Erykah Badu about her holistic lifestyle and the influence Queen Afua has played, and an after party with celebrity DJ Beverly Bond. The festivities will commemorate the center's 14 years of serving the community and pay tribute to QAWI's founder, Queen Afua, an internationally renowned holistic health practitioner, advocate, and best selling author.
The newly established institute will house the highly famed Heal Thyself Products and Services, which will include Colonics, Consultations, Foot Eco-Detox, the Womb Spa, the 21 Day Detox Program, the product store, and the revered Sacred Woman Training; Grab N Go Juice Bar & Café, serving vegan food and tonics; Oraje's Wholistic Beauty Temple, offering natural hair care and holistic beauty consultation; and The City of Wellness Society, a membership driven organization that supports the institute's vision.
