ALL THE HIP HOP NEWS THAT'S FIT TO PRINT
First Single "Break Me Off has already earned over 2 million plays on his MySpace page
Two New Mix Tapes Available Now As A Free Download on Bossman's MySpace Page
April 30, 2009 – Bossman, the Baltimore MD native who is the first Hip Hop artist signed to MySpace Records will be introduced to the world by telling his own dramatic life story via a 30 day online campaign titled "No Struggle, No Success,"  which is a collection of several one to two minute commercials in which Bossman will examine different events in his life, often tragic which has shaped who he is today as an artist and a man. Bossman will offer two free downloadable mixtapes, The Street Kings and A.T.M. produced by One Up Productions, all featuring Bossman's music as part of his introduction.
In No Struggle, No Success, Bossman will explain how he grew up as the son of a street kingpin and a drug addict father and a single parent mother who hustled to survive as she battled domestic and drug abuse.  He will chronicle the time his mother tried to shoot and kill his father  and when he was 13, how both of his parents were incarcerated on a robbery charge. He will reveal how the governor later pardoned his mother, who then reverted to hustling — with her son.  The series being shot in Charm City now is both compelling and heart wrenching.
Bossman will examine how he was able to take what he learned from the streets and turned it into a thriving local hip hop label whose sales number and shear urban legend compelled first Jermaine Dupri and now Marquis Collins of MySpace Records to sign him.
The first of the new free downloadable mix tapes is The Street Kings  which Bossman says "Represents  struggle growing  up in Baltimore  City,  and me being the voice of the struggle, and takin a stand for the struggle. It's inspired by my own altercations with law enforcement and personal experience with police brutality ."
A.T.M is based on his success. Bossman said, "I'm on my second record deal. I'm in the mind state of gettin money and gives the fans a taste of my true versatility. In my moniker Bossman, B.O.S.S stands for Based On Struggle and Success and that explains my entire story."
His first single, "Break Me Off" released via his www.myspace.com/bossman page has been played over 2 million times by fans and the release of the video clip shot last month will be release simultaneous to the 30 Days of Pain documentary block.

The Battle of the Century – 2 of London's best nights go head to head in a free Bank Holiday Special Soundclash.

Unless you have been living under a rock or you just don't like partying in London, then the chances are that you have heard of Work It or Livin' Proof. These 2 nights are single handedly making London digging through their old record crates and raiding their shoebox collection of cassette mixtapes to re-live the glories past of of 90s Hip-Hop and RnB…
Both nights have been pioneering roadblock parties in it's own seperate hemisphere. Work It's regular monthly parties have been (re)introducing Teddy Riley and Mary J Blige to London's hippest trend-setters. Livin' Proof's parties have been supplying beats to the "true-school heads" that misses the sound of J Dilla, Tribe Called Quest and Wu Tang. For the first time ever, these 2 crews will go head-to-head, DJ-to-DJ, tune-for-tune to see who will come out victorious as the number 1 party in London!
Throw a portion of soul, boogie and a dash of bashment… add a whole lot of good-vibe and these 2 forces will host the showdown of the year until it's last man standing!!
Performing on the night will be Livin' Proof and Work It's full crew of DJs. This includes a former UK DMC DJ Champion and a host of DJs that have between them supported for the likes of Kanye West, Q Tip, Afrika Baambatta, The Roots, De La Soul … no, seriously…. believe us, these guys have their hip-hop credentials on lock!!

8thw1, sleepwalkas, those chosen, brokn english
Brooklyn, NY, April 30th 2009
The semifinalists for the third installment of the Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival's 'Show and Prove' competition were announced this week by Brooklyn Bodega and YUME.
They are 8thW1, Sleepwalkas, Those Chosen and Brokn English.
Festival Executive Director Wes Jackson writes, "Our May semifinalists are a great group of MC's from Flatbush to Jersey to Los Angeles. This is our third and final semifinal before we pick the opener for BHF '09. I know these guys are going to bring it. Especially after the heat that [April winner] Brown Bag All Stars brought last month, the bar is even higher. THOSE CHOSEN are trooping out from LA just to compete. It makes us feel good that the Festival spirit and energy is touching quality MC's all the way to the West Coast. I wish them all the best of luck."
————-
About the semifinalists:
8thW1 "Life ain't s___ but love money and music" is more than a rhyme from 8thW1 on his album lovemoneyandmusic, it's the emcee's mantra that guides his ambitious goals. "No matter what you believe in, everyone moves for those three things. That is the trinity that no one is above." With that said, this native of New Jersey is set to leave an impression on the world with music at it's center of impact. His dedication to providing quality music for listeners makes him one of the few artists who can be sold simply by pushing play.
8thw1
Sleepwalkas
K.Gaines (Flatbush) and Ciph Diggy(Crown Heights) are a Brooklyn duo that embodies the definition of hip-hop. Since the release of their debut album "Insomnia" (2008) they have moved units, built a loyal fan base and rocked numerous events in and out of the Tri State area. Sleepwalkas are not your average MC's/entertainers. You should expect the unexpected whenever and wherever they are. They're uncanny personalities, witty lyricism and tireless work ethic set them light years apart form the regular run of the mill rappers we have all come to know today.
THOSE CHOSEN
THOSE CHOSEN consists of Japetto, Kornbread, and Foreshadow. Out of their common love of music, the trio formed a musical brotherhood that has lead them on a journey to become a premiere hip-hop group within the ever-changing music scene. The group has shared the stage with hip-hop legends such as Slick Rick and rising stars like Little Brother and Black Milk. They have been a constant staple in California's hip-hop scene and have gained a presence on the internet, which has lead to an ever growing buzz concerning their music.
Brokn English
Brokn Englsh is Myk Dyaleks (Greg Noviembre), Cion Burris ( Kyle Andrews), and Lyriq 2 Go (Leon Brinson). The group formed in 2006 with one common goal, bringing quality music to the masses. The meaning of Brokn Englsh, is speaking the language of the people. Bringing forth all emotions everyone goes through and translating it into a concept. Each member brings their individuality to the group. Cion Burris stems from versatile elements. The name C.Burris is a dedication to his godmother who was instrumental in his journey of music. Cion is derived from the Spanish meaning of the word song, cancion. The name LyriqToGo is paying homage to A Tribe Called Quest track of the same name on their album Midnight Marauders. LyriqToGo is a virtual world you go to receive introspective lyrics to take upon your travels. Their latest project Brokn Englsh Presents R.E.M Mixtape brings a high level of passion to their audience, hard hitting punchlines, colorful wordplay, and intricate stories. Myk Dyaleks, Cion Burris, Lyriq To Go personify the language of the people which is Brokn English.
