United Independent Musicians seek equal opportunity

Chicago, IL, 2/01/09 (Hip Hop PR Wire) — The ever surging Independent Music Industry has not only produced great music equal to, or better than, what is currently commercially available, it has also spawned some great business models and minds that are starting to influence the way records are made, sold, and listened to.

Near the top of the list for most popular Independent Artist would have to be, Alonzo M. Coley know as Ya-Boy A.M.C. . With over 11 million website hits in 2008, a number one song on a major Radio Networks Website, and 3 most viewed videos, this Performer is only one TV interview and/or radio play away from Stardom. This Artist has been through the mill in pursuit of developing his god given talent for writing songs and making music people like and want. With the release of his underground hit CD "iHustle 24/7", and his new Independent Record Label, "iHustle Records" on Inauguration day, you would think this Artist would have his hands full, not the case by any means.

After many years of fighting for equal access to radio, television, and all the other resources that signed Artists are restricted from, Ya-Boy A.M.C. believes he has developed the treatment plan to equal the playing field for all Independent musicians, and in the process, change the music industry forever. With his extensive networking capabilities and a large Independent Musicians data base, this organizations reach and power will be national, and eventually gain equal access to our nations airwave and eliminate common discriminatory practices in the industry. Also UIM will strive to improve, pay, working conditions, and obtain regulation to reduce the current up surge in less than honest operations that the Independent Artist encounter on a daily basis in the furtherance of their career. UIM will also take a active roll in Alonzo's current passion of mentoring youth in Urban communities in hopes of ending gang violence and open up more training and career opportunities than what is currently available. HIs past efforts have been under his iHustle Movement, a underground effort aimed at engaging at risk youth in dialog and a career path, this movement will now be incorporated into UIM.

UIM is soon to be finalized and structured as a Non-Proffit Organization with the main mission of obtain legislation and regulatory changes aimed at giving Independent Musicians the same access to radio and TV as the Musicians with a recording contract have. To also position the Independent Artist to have a voice in Washington. The organization will utilize Lobby and legal efforts, PR campaigns, planned boycotts, and FCC petitions, and will also push for Congressional investigations into the current use of a form of payola and other unfair business practices.

UIM has a firm base of members and will be gaining many more in leaps and bounds when the Foundations website is launched and the proper legal ducks are all in a row, ternately set for mid February 2009. So, in the future, if UIM is successful, and all indications are that they will be, you can expect to enjoy the real great music that is currently being depressed and restricted by a hand full of people.
