Not since the days of Sir-Mix-A-Lot has a Seattle-Based rapper gained as much buzz and attention as $wag. At the top of the West Coast, $wag has sold over 100,000 copies of his mixtape in Seattle and Portland alone, and has become an icon to many of these cities local rap artists.
With a lyrical style of his own, $wag brings to life the vivid imagery of hustling from the mind of a true urban capitalist. His lead single, "I'm Up", $wag weaves a tale of being an "ultimate hustler" and being one up on the competition. His second single, an R&B-infused, for-the-ladies track entitled "Do You Mind", produced by Grammy nominated singer and producer, Jon B., who also makes a guest appearance, has hit the airwaves at a furious pace along the West Coast and in the Southwest region.
$wag has also been well-received in recent performances, opening up for Scarface in Chicago at the Congress Theater and Bone Thugs -N- Harmony for their reunion tour in Phoenix at the Celebrity Theater.
One might mistake his lyrical swagger for being boastful and cocky, however, by the end of listening to his new album, one will come to understand that $wag is giving an unfiltered perspective of a man that made something from nothing, that wasn't afraid to take chances along the way.
