Sunset Urban sets up for 2008 with the releases of brand new music recorded for the upstart rap and hip hop label. Artists include: Paula Perry, D'Cyple, Capt. Crunk, B.L.O., Skee, Mugzy, Kingsbridge Dee, Channell and L. Myers

Paula Perry, known for her Billboard top ten song released by Motown Records, will release her debut full length CD on March 11th. D'Cyple and Skee will deliver brand new CDs in the 2nd quarter this year and Sunset Urban is also releasing their catalog titles next month. The label is currently working CDs by Mugzy (The Villain), B.L.O. (Da Ghetto Superstar) and Blackwell (Un4giveable) and Blue Mountain has L. Myers currently in stores. Expect debut CDs by Capt. Paula Perry, former Motown Records recording artist, and Masta Ace Inc. member, releases her highly anticipated debut full length CD. Dubbed the queen of the underground by XXL magazine, Paula has worked with DJ Premier, Easy Mo Bee, DR Period, Lost Boyz, Brian McKnight, Kelly Price & Tina Turner. Her CD titled "The Godmommy" is due to hit stores in April.

D'Cyple, from Wisconsin has emerged as one of the most intense MCs hip hop has heard to date. With comparisons to Tupac Shakur, D'Cyple has incredible songs that show his true emotion by featuring deep lyrics. Yet his lyrics are also very accessible and relatable. A true underground veteran, his first 2 albums, "D'cyple" & "No One Knows" are available in stores all over the world. His latest CD "For My People" will be in stores by the end of April.

Mugzy's, The Villain is available now at all stores that allow downloads, streams and ringtones. The Villain will be released in stores next month. B.L.O, the Bronx NY native has one of the most authentic debut albums Urban Music has heard in a long time. NIKE's "Better Than I've Ever Been" Featuring Kanye West, Nas and KRS-One Nominated for Grammy

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The much talked about collaboration for the NIKE (NYSE:NKE) commissioned hip hop track, "Better Than I've Ever Been," which was executive produced by Cornerstone, has been nominated for the 2008 Grammy Awards for "Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group." Featuring Kanye West, Nas, KRS-One and produced by Rick Rubin, the song was created to celebrate the 25th year anniversary of Nike's iconic shoe, the Air Force 1. In addition, a remix version of the track featuring hip hop veteran Rakim which was produced by DJ Premier was recorded as part of the campaign.

"Better Than I've Ever Been" marks the first time Nike has ever commissioned a Grammy–nominated song in the company's 35-year history.

ATLANTA--D4L member and Asylum Recording Artist Shawty Lo is the latest victim of bootlegging, as many people are purchasing unauthorized copies of Units In The City instead of waiting for its February 26th release date.  However buyers are not receiving several new songs on the album, including the smash single, "Dey Know," as well as, "Ain't Tellin'", "That's Shawty Lo", "Got Em 4 The LO" and "Count On Me."

According to Shawty Lo, "Some of my new material was taken from my studio and bootlegged but what people don't know is that they don't have the real deal.  They don't have all the songs that's going on the album.  They're cheating themselves."

Music from Shawty Lo has been in high demand ever since he dropped the monster jam, "I'm Da Man" in 2005 from D4L's certified Gold disc, Down For Life.  The following year, Shawty Lo along with DJ Scream dropped a mixtape of the same name in 2006, which sold over 40,000 copies.  The dynamic duo decided to give listeners even more of what they craved by distributing another mixtape entitled, "I'm Da Man, Part 2," adding even more momentum for Units In The City.

Branded Junior Plus line of Sportswear Collections set to launch with Marketing by Recognized Celebrities

J&V Brand Management is a partnership between Vinnie Brown of the Grammy Award winning rap group, Naughty by Nature, Shakim Compere of Flavor Unit Entertainment, and Johnny Sajnani, President of Johnny Signature Inc. Johnny Signature Inc. manufactured and distributed "Naughty Gear" for Vinnie's rap band in the 90's, which was one of the first artist driven, hip hop clothing lines at the time. Vinnie and Shakim's relationship go back to the late 80's. Shakim managed Naughty by Nature and landed their first recording contract with Tommy Boy records in 1990. Shakim is also the career long manager of the multitalented Queen Latifah. The company's goal with Ladies First is to combine our talents to bring the finest female celebrity talent to endorse the brand.

Set to launch spring of 08 with first shipments to retailers scheduled for early to mid March, the line will target specialty stores which is a new tier of distribution for Next, along with specific department stores within Next's established retail distribution network. The Camp, renowned for their live shows, are one of the fastest rising groups on the Boston hip-hop scene and they are set to release their debut album, The Campaign, on April 1st, 2008. Kidz In The Hall (comprised of Naledge and Double-O) are not your average group. Following their successful debut record, School Was My Hustle, released on October 31st, 2006, the duo teamed up with legendary Mix Tape DJ Mick Boogie, to release Detention, a digital-only LP, in late 2007.

Now these Ivy League Graduates of the University of Pennsylvania, co-signed by producers Just Blaze and 9th Wonder, are poised to release their second full-length release, The In Crowd, on 4-29-08 courtesy of Duck Down Records/Major League Entertainment.

The In Crowd is entirely produced by Kidz In The Hall's Double-O and will feature some of the most relevant MC's in the game today. Though Kidz In The Hall's debut, School Was My Hustle, was universally hailed, Naledge and Double-O have set much loftier standards for themselves with its proper follow-up, The In Crowd, as Double-O states "fans can expect to hear a tremendous growth with The In Crowd. RAPPER RICK ROSS INKS MAJOR DISTRIBUTION DEAL TO DISTRIBUTE THE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED DOCUMENTARY, "M.I.YAYO," SET TO BE RELEASED MARCH 25TH 2008

On top of his game with sophomore effort "Trilla," due in stores March 11th 2008, the Platinum rapper also takes on the role of Executive Producer, in a film toted as a 'masterpiece.'

New York, NY, 1/29/2008 — Expect to see and hear much more of Al-Shid of Sound Bar Recordings this quarter.

Sound Bar Recordings (SBR) is the label to watch for in 2008.  SBR surfaced in 2005 and followed up with the release of the "Fly Rap Money" Mix tape in 2006.  "Fly Rap Money" flexed the lyrical and creative muscles of co-founder Al-Shid, not to mention his artists and respected colleagues.

"Fly Rap Money" proved to be a huge success.   "Fly Rap Money" was felt worldwide, but SBR moved over 4,000 units in the Tri-State area in the first 60 days of release with no promotions.  "Fly Rap Money" received an enormous amount of coverage from a variety of underground sources.  Despite its success, the satirical title and cover threw many people off.  The co-founder of SBR and executive producer of the project had this to say, "I try to make thinking music and I try to make thinking fashionable.  This isn't fast food, mindless music.  We make thinking man's music and the title and cover were meant to do just that, make people think."

2007 gave SBR a chance to grow and expand their roster. The final quarter of 2007 revealed "Fly Rap Money 2," a compilation album from SBR.  The specific focus of this release was to bring the recording artists of SBR to light.  "'Fly Rap Money 2' is about fresh new faces, original concepts, ideas and songs" ---- Al Shid.

SBR's next project for 2008 is Al-Shid's solo project called, "Good Mourning America."  This album discusses real life issues such as poverty and battles between "the Haves and Have-Nots."
