LONDON, UK (29th of Aug 2008) – With over 1 million urban music fans throughout the UK and Europe watching the Urban Music Awards brand new TV show, Britain's Next Urban Superstar. The UMA's & Foot Locker have today officially announced the semi-finals which will be filmed for Flava TV (Sky 367) in front of a live audience at Sound, 1 Leicester Square on the 26th of September 2008. As well as marking the official launch of this year's 6th annual Urban Music Awards, the semi-finals will be a chance for the 18 finalists with the highest votes to perform in front of a live audience for viewers and the public to vote for what 10 contestants they want to enter the UMA Academy. A multi-million pound mansion in the heart of central London, with recording studios, game center and more. The 10 contestants will then battle it out in the reality house for 1 winner to be announced live at the prestigious 6th annual Urban Music Awards on the 15th of November 2008.

During the forthcoming weeks, the Urban Music Awards team have been and are still going across the country to 18 UK cities auditioning contestants, accepting demos, and going through thousands of online artist submissions. The best contestants will be put forward to represent their respective cities. You the public, then vote for the 18 finalists to represent each city at the semi-finals in London. The 18 finalists from 18 cities will then battle head to head to win a place at the UMA Academy for the chance to learn about artist pr, marketing and the secrets of success in today's music industry but most importantly one winner walking away with 5000 pounds in their back pocket, a 12 month recording contract courtesy of Invincible Records, front cover on Invincible Magazine, 1 music video, 12months recording studio access working with top dancehall producer/artist Spragga Benz and the title of Britain's Next Urban Superstar announced at the 6th annual Urban Music Awards on the 15th of November.
"There have been several Television shows dedicated at discovering the next big thing but never has there been a show solely dedicated to the discovery of the future urban stars and as the biggest Urban Music Awards ceremony in the world and only awards show to be held in 6 countries annually.
