SCHOLARMAN DROPS NEW ALBUM “GAMESHIFT: THE MOVEMENT” JANUARY 2009

Bowie, MD (Nov. 3, 2008) – Maryland emcee and producer ScholarMan is geared up to release what is technically his fifth studio album GameShift: The Movement. To some, this number of projects may come as a surprise, but ScholarMan has previously dropped other releases under former name "Scholar." He re-introduced himself in January of 2007 with his new modified name and sound with the release of "Candy Medicine" and again in 2008 with "Soul Purpose."

Both of these albums were well-received by a good number in the hip-hop community; many who wanted to hear more, and he answers with a new and even more innovative album GameShift: The Movement. According to ScholarMan, the concept of his new album is simple: positive, forward movement. Everything is shifting, changing; from hip-hop, politics, the economy and more. On this album he is encouraging listeners to join him in the effort to shift the "game" in a more positive direction.

ScholarMan states, "The game can be whatever cause you are fighting for; whether positive social change, justice, equality, peace or improvement of hip-hop. I believe things can be just that simple, but many continue to make the world more complex than what it needs to be. I believe our journey’s can be more positive if it we strive to make it as such. My music is my personal soundtrack to a life with a purpose, and I strive daily to achieve that purpose. Through mistakes we learn and grow; I believe we all can grow together."

Solely produced by ScholarMan, GameShift: The Movement features new ground-breaking and thought-provoking material; with guess appearances from fellow label mates K-Mynez and TrueBless. The first two singles "The Answer II" and "What You Puttin’ Back" featuring K-Mynez have already been released via music videos online. The new enhanced album will be released through ScholarMan’s imprint Soganic Music thi! s coming January 2009.

A full preview of the album will be made available for one month beginning December 1, 2008 on ScholarMan’s website. For more information, booking, interviews, advanced press copies of the album please contact:
