Viva Fidel and Kay Productions Invite You To Experience the Affect Of "Controlled Demo" Monday, October 27th, 7pm in the (UWM) University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Union Theatre.
Kay Productions, Music, Mentoring, Role-Modeling, an innovator in the educational networking and campus events market at UW-Milwaukee, announces the Premiere and Milwaukee release of the short musical film "Controlled Demo" , Monday October 27th at UWM Union Theatre.
Kay Productions could not be more excited to host the Milwaukee big screen premier of ‘Controlled Demo as part of our Reality Tour" Experience the Affect, said Kiera Castle, founder of Kay Productions and Interim Director of Links Peer Outreach & Mentoring Center, located in the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Student Union. Kay Production is in the business of "Keeping It Movin" which ignites the partnership with Viva Fidel and Taste Emcees. As an Artist and Educator Fidel Vasquez is highly respected and in high demand because in a market like Milwaukee you have to be extra determined to persevere. The "Controlled Demo" movie can inspire that perseverance in every "local" artist and the content will definitely start serious conversations."
About Controlled Demo: "Control Demo" is a high paced reality based musical mini film about the soul of Hip Hop. It’s is a "reality mini musical" film written produced and directed by independent artist, promoter & youth organizer, (Viva) Fidel Vasquez, addresses the impact of Hip Hop, religion, and cultural mis-education. The film has been showcased and screened in various cities already including Chicago, Atlanta and Houston as part of the promotional tour leading up to the release date, which is officially Friday , October 31st. "The film has been so well received its almost overwhelming, people really get it" said Filmmaker Fidel. "By performing the soundtrack and screening the film for diverse audiences I’ve been able to get honest and heartfelt discussions going."
About Kay Productions/Reality Tour: The focus of this Reality Tour is to enable participants to become more aware of themselves and others in order to perceive an accurate picture of reality. This event will be open not only for all UWM students but also artists, youth and community members of the Milwaukee and surrounding area. This film offers a positive message through teaching and the power of mentoring and music. Projects are always an attempt to create Social Awareness within the Community. The tour will encourage a "Connected Community" through Positive Social Interactions. You are invited to a journey of Self Exploration. Why is Hip Hop being taught in universities across the world? Why is Hip Hop used as the unifying force to mobilize youth and the political movements of our time? Has Hip Hop replaced religion? Featuring authentic footage of Fidel lecturing about Hip Hop history at a local college, to an intimate car ride conversation that questions your beliefs about history, religion and everything in between, to a captivating re-enactment of a scene from the cult classic "The Spook that Sat Behind the Door", plus uncut scenes from the stage and the studio, "Controlled Demo" is a quick but thoughtful, lyrically narrated journey through the innovative world of Viva Fidel. The Director and Filmmaker will be at the UWM Theatre to discuss the film and a "Behavior Has No Face "forum will follow with questions and answers for attendees.
