New Album "Pipe Dreams" In Stores February 10th 2009
Humboldt County California's Potluck have announced more headlining tour dates, including a short run through the Mid-West and an appearance at the first annual Humboldt Hip-Hop Fest. The group is currently putting the finishing touches on their upcoming new album "Pipe Dreams", which is slated for a February 10th 2009 release.
How appropriate that Potluck's upcoming new album, "Pipe Dreams", features an intro from the Oscar nominated film Hustle & Flow, the story of an aspiring emcee from the Dirty South, as the group continues to rise into the upper echelon of hip-hop. The Humboldt, CA based duo, who began while battling one another at DJ competitions throughout California, have one of the hip-hop's most talked about groups with a series of underground classics in 2000's "Humboldt County High" and 2004's "Harvest Time".
From there the group joined forces with Suburban Noize Records for the release of 2006's "Straight Outta Humbolt", which shot the duo to the front of the stage where they stole the show on sold-out tours with Tech N9ne, E-40, Twiztid and Kottonmouth Kings and landed them critical acclaim from Ballerstatus who proclaimed, "Potluck is a fun loving group that epitomizes what hip-hop should be about."
Label Potluck whatever you want; backpack rap, stoner-rap, or simply straight-up hip-hop.
