(HOLLYWOOD, CA/ NEW YORK, NY, SEPTEMBER 4, 2008) JoeX2, a well-known graffiti artist, and DJ Rob Patterson performed a unique installation set at the 944 Magazine 2nd Anniversary Party and official MTV VMA week kick off on the rooftop VIP lounge at Kress Nightclub on September 3rd, 2008. A new flavor for the nightlife scene, partygoers can now enjoy some visual stimulation to go along with the audio. JoeX2 provided a start to finish painted canvas depicting the 944 and MTV logos respectively to the urban rooftop as DJ Rob Patterson kept the crowd moving. A favorite of the entertainment industry, JoeX2′s artwork can be seen regularly on the television shows CSI: NY, Everybody Hates Chris, and the music videos of Natasha Bedingfield, Katy Perry, 50 Cent, and Snoop Dogg, among others and has been profiled in a variety of print publications including Vapors, Style, Mass Appeal and WWD. A live performance by this artist is a rare glimpse into the graffiti art scene and is not to be missed!
944 Magazine and guest host Kourtney Kardashian celebrated 2 years of publication by hosting the event which included dj sets from DJ Vice and DJ AM, as well as a surprise stage performance from rap artist The Game. Red carpet appearances included the Kardashian family, Perez Hilton, Caroline D’Amore, Tila Tequila, Kathy Griffin, and Karina Smirnoff among others. The rooftop enjoyed a high in the sky giant balloon which displayed stock footage from past 944 editorial shoots, Playboy Mansion parties and former red carpets. Bombay Sapphire was an apparent sponsor along with Cre8tive Recreation footwear gifting suite and the highly coveted swag graffiti messenger bag designed by none other than JoeX2 for JanSport which included cosmetics from Smashbox and Britney Spears’ latest fragrance. VMA week is off to a good start but this party will be hard to top; JoeX2′s artistic adage will certainly set a new standard for the future award show parties everywhere.
