New York, NY- 9/4/2008- Hip Hop Recording Artist – Beanie Sigel, Boxer- Winky Wright & NHRA Racer- Antron Brown will be teaming up with Sprint and Motorola to drive for a cause at the Urban Youth Racing School's 3rd annual Grand PRIX of Philadelphia Celebrity Race. Recording artist Freeway, Young Chris, Frank from The Roots , and Muggsy Malone are scheduled to participate in races that start at 11:00am at the NE corner of Broad & Washington near the Philadelphia Sports Complex on September 6th, 2008. Sprint and Motorola organized the race in conjunction with the Urban Youth Racing School and is expected to draw out a crowd of 5,000 or more. UYRS founder, AnthonyMartin, just recently announced the schools efforts to expand its presence within the entertainment and hip hop community while forming alliances to promote African -American drivers within Nascar. Martin asserts " There are a lot of African- American kids interested in Nascar and the racing industry, but don't know how to go about getting involved. The UYRS was founded in 1998 to fill that gap. Over 2,000 students have graduated from our program with the knowledge of racing, marketing, and sponsorship within the racing industry." Prize packages from sponsors Sprint, XBOX and Warpath Records will be given away during the festivities to winning teams. Warpath Records will also be announcing that the winner will be a driver in the upcoming video shoot for Muggsy Malones single " Somewhere to be at ", anticipated to be leaked exclusively to Sprint Mobile users. Media personalities from CNN, FOX, and ABC News will join four person race teams in order to raise money for the school's upcoming fiscal year. In related news, this is one of Beanie Sigels many efforts to become a positive role model within the Philadelphia community and to assist in reducing the violence amongst inner city youth.
