Oregon’s king of rapid fire rhyme, the Dirtball, is the latest addition to this year’s biggest underground rock and hip-hop festival, the Strange Noize Tour. Dirtball joins and action packed festival co-headlined Kansas City’s Tech N9ne and counter culture icons the Kottonmouth Kings, along with support rap-rock pioneers (Hed)p.e., hip-hop legends X-Clan. the Hitchcock of hip-hop Prozak and Cypress Hill’s Sen Dog, who is slated to make his motion picture debut later this year, will appear on select dates.
"I’m amped to stay out here on the grind and keep pushing my new record ‘Crook County’. What a great tour to be added onto, and with perfect timing, as I come off the backside of 3 different summer tours," says Dirtball. "I’m always honored to share stages with some of the superpowers of the underground and create Strange Noize alongside ‘em! See ya’ll out there!"
The Strange Noize music festival debuted in 2007 and quickly became one of the summer’s hottest tickets. The tour united two of America’s biggest independent record labels – Suburban Noize and Strange Music – for one summer music festival that sold out over 40 dates across the country. The tour was a powerful message to the music industry that underground music could infiltrate the masses on a large scale with a sound too loud to be ignored any longer.
Dirtball has created a whirlwind of attention with his new release "Crook County", which was released through Suburban Noize Records. His eclectic mixture of hip-hop, rock and rapid fire rhymes has earned him opening slots on tour with Kottonmouth Kings and (Hed).p.e, and saw him embarking on his first national headlining tour. Most recently Dirtball has made headlines with his explosive collaboration with Tech N9ne, "Paint A Dark Picture", from the Kansas City based rapper’s new album "Killer" which debuted at #12 on the Billboard Top 200 and also features Ice Cube, Scarface and Paul Wall.
"Being a technical rapper, and an artist who appreciates super skills on the mic, I was honored to jump on a track with Tech N9ne. I’m glad I could be a part of the ‘killer’ movement," says Dirtball about his collaboration with hip-hop’s hottest artists. "The track we did dives into a definite dark side of his record. It felt good for me to flex that way and you may very well see more darkness from me in the future. I can only say that Tech N9ne is a genius on the mic, and I look forward to working with him again on other projects to come."
