Innovative technology agency also releases "Green" mixtape to show that hip-hop really cares
(June 23, 2008) NEW YORK, NY – Digiwaxx Media, the global platform for digital music promotion and innovative influencer marketing, has announced the urban music line up for Citysol 2008's free concert, of which it booked talent. Citysol 2008, to be held on June 26-29th at Solar One's East River-side venue in Stuyvesant Cove Park, will include an all-day festival on Saturday June 28th that will be MCed by Ant Marshall, host and producer at Current TV and co-founder of the Lyricist Lounge the legendary hip-hop, live performance open mic series. Citysol will feature an exciting lineup of indie rock, modern classical, and world music talent and for the first time an eclectic mix of hip-hop artists and DJs including:
The AOK Collective (performing June 26th)
• Collective of inventive emcees, DJs, producers, singers and graphic artists
• The brainchild of emcee/graphic illustrator "Fresh Daily", A.O.K. was created to bring together what he felt was the very best of his peers on the indie scene
Tanya Morgan (performing June 28th at 3pm)
• Group made up of a diverse trio of artist: Von Pea, Ilyas and Donwill
• Has collaborated with hip-hop acts such as Nicolay, The Justus League, Fat Jon and 88 Keys among others
Blitz The Ambassador (performing June 28th at 730pm)
• Electrifying Brooklyn rapper by way of Ghana
• Revered for his live performance which features a nine piece ensemble
DJ Get Live (DJing on June 27th All Night)
• Protégé to the world famous 5th Platoon DJ crew
• 2005 BET 106 & Park Battle DJ Champ
In commencement of Citysol's first ever urban line up, Digiwaxx Media will release an online "green" mixtape that will be available to download for free. The mixtape is dedicated towards the effort of raising awareness in the hip-hop community about the green movement and solar powered energy. The Digiwaxx Presents: Solar Heat (Hip-Hop Is Green Vol. 1) features an exclusive track from John Legend and Andre 3000 and new music from Santogold, C.R.A.C., Tanya Morgan, Erykah Badu, Estelle and Black Milk. The mix is an uplifting, thought provoking and entertaining set of music for summer and is available online for free which avoids the waste produced from packaging and production of a traditional mixtape.

"With the current political and social environment being as it is, this movement allows the hip-hop community to not only show that it cares but gives it an opportunity to enlighten hip-hop lovers who may not be environmentally conscience in New York City through the festival as well as globally through the online mixtape."
The mission of Citysol is to provide a new venue for creative artistic collaborations, while engaging young New Yorkers in an advocacy campaign to bring about stronger policies in support of clean, renewable solar power in New York State. Festival-goers will be given opportunities to learn about solar potential in the Big Apple, and to direct feedback to their local elected officials right on site. In addition to top-rate live music, Citysol will also host a Friday night stand-up comedy show and an afternoon of workshops and expert panel discussions on Sunday. Also, for the third year running, the festival venue will be defined by an original 1500 sq. ft. pavilion, designed and fabricated by the award-winning Brooklyn-based design firm Situ Studio. The pavilion will house the Citysol bar and concession area, and additional space for seating. Original artistic works by local artists will also be installed on site for the duration of the festival.
