Arizona (March 2008) – An animated, sharp and poised emcee by the name of Thaahum, is finding his distinct sound all over the independent film scene. With a song featured on the DVD, The Dark Backward, released on Sony Home Entertainment, a song on the upcoming film, National Lampoon’s Homo Erectus and a recent placement in, "The Power of Mentorship," a movie based on a self-made millionaire, Don Boyer, the Arizona emcee is becoming the "Lil’ Wayne" of the film industry." He raps, you listen. He performs, you watch.
While you watch, Thaahum is turning the heads of directors, independent film-producers and catching the attention of behind the scene shot callers, Thaahum is also a columnist for film writer/director Kevin Smith’s website QuickStopEntertainment.com and is best known for "Keneteph’s Korner," a column with one on one interviews with musicians and industry innovators.
It’s not a coincidence that he’s scoring slots in several television and radio shows, while marching his way through stereotypical southwestern glass ceilings, Thaahum has been on the grind since 1999.
The Arizona native has opened up for several Hip Hop acts including: Black Eyed Peas, Ghostface Killa and legendary Hip Hop group Digital Underground. With BDS soundscan spins for his single, "Spreewells," which is on rotation on Music Choice, the "beyond the realm" emcee is making his way through the universe.
Not only is this southwestern native creating an alternative avenue with his music, he’s also working on his upcoming album, The Other Side of Nothing scheduled for release this upcoming year. On his upcoming 2008 release, Thaahum collaborates with Amil, Imami Coppola and super-producer D-Maq.
The independent Hip Hip artist, who’s signed under his own label, Keneteph Entertainment is currently working on several projects including song placements for popular shows and booking shows in the Arizona area.
