Almost Famous is one of the most consistent, relevant artist showcases for emerging artists. In addition to showcasing their talent, recording artists will have the opportunity to network with various members of the entertainment industry including DJs, Radio Personalities, A&R's, Music Producers, Publicists and a host of others. On Friday, March 28, 2008 Verseus Entertainment Group and Florida Entertainment Summit in association with Slip N Slide Records and Cavalli Vodka will host the 2nd Annual Spring Bling Edition of the Almost Famous Artist Showcase on Miami Beach at White Diamonds Night Club.
Producer of the Atlanta, GA based Almost Famous Artist Showcase, Rovella Williams of Verseus Entertainment Group will not make promises of getting artists signed merely by their participation at an Almost Famous Artist Showcase but some may beg to differ due in part by the star power of previous attendees such as Super Producers Rodney Jerkins, DJ Toomp and Mr. Colipark; All of whom have played an instrumental role in the careers of various successful artists such as Brandy, TI and the Ying Yang Twins.
This is the 2nd time the Almost Famous Artist Showcase is being held in Miami Beach, FL. In 2007, Chaos, an unsigned artist at the time, hosted and performed at the event. This year, Chaos and the other members of Universal Republic Recording Group Grindmode are special invited guests of the 2nd Annual Spring Bling Edition of Almost Famous. Various Almost Famous Alumni such as Chaos, as Rovella Williams like to call them, have gone on to sign with major labels. Being able to involve artists that are on the verge is a positive nod for the Almost Famous Brand. Chaos explains, "Artist showcases are a must for artists hoping to make it in the music business; this is one of best ways to get both entertainment industry as well as consumer feedback."
With the music industry eye on South Florida right now, organizers felt it was only right to provide another opportunity for emerging artists to network with entertainment executives in addition to their peers who are generating a grassroots buzz or even gaining radio play such as South Florida's very own Grindmode, Under Survaliance, Tarvoria, Qwote and Hip-Hop Group Dade County. Also, scheduled to attend are various online entertainment websites, members of the press and television shows such as Keeping It Real With Della which airs on WBFS My33. Keeping it Real with Della will tape live from White Diamonds Night Club. The event is hosted by WEDR 99 Jamz Take Ova host K Foxx.
