Eight Machines Go On Sale February 28; Buyers Receive Workshop With RZA; Sessions In-Store Event Announced
Westlake Village, CA: Guitar Center, the nation's leading musical instrument retailer, today announces the introduction of its exclusive Roland RZA/Forat Custom MV8800. This very limited edition machine was co-designed by legendary electronic pioneer Bruce Forat and RZA, producer/founder of multi-platinum hip-hop trailblazers Wu-Tang Clan. The Roland RZA/Forat Custom MV8800 also features original artwork by Forat and RZA, in a hand-painted pattern that is familiar to fans of the Wu-Tang with its nod to the "8 Diagrams" of the I Ching. The eight RZA/Forat machines go on sale February 28th, priced at $5999.00 each.
"RZA was very involved in every aspect of the creation and design of Guitar Center's Roland RZA/Forat Custom MV8800," said Tony Baraz, Hi-Tech Custom Shop Project Manager for Guitar Center. "That's why we wanted to offer the buyers of the eight units the opportunity to be personally tutored by RZA. His personal involvement with the buyers, along with custom work by a legend like Bruce Forat, really make this machine a once-in-a-lifetime buy for music makers."
Guitar Center will be launching its page about the Roland RZA/Forat Custom MV8800 today at http://www.guitarcenter.com/rza <http://www.guitarcenter.com/rza> with full details about the machines, tutorial, and Sessions event, which will be held February 28th at Guitar Center's Hollywood location. Surprise celebrity guests at the launch event will be announced soon.
"The public will be able to buy these and keep these. And we become part of two different histories. One, Forat; I think what he's doing for hip-hop machines is legendary," said RZA. "I mean, it's original and he's going down in history as a legend for that. I'm glad that we're doing this campaign right here, 'cause this is bong."

About RZA
Founder and chief producer for one of hip-hop's most innovative acts, the Wu-Tang Clan, RZA is one of hip-hop's seminal artists. The Wu-Tang Clan emerged in the early 1990s as a revolutionary concept band from Staten Island, NYC with nine MCs. RZA's spare, menacing production on the band's breakthrough "Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)" was wildly original and spawned hundreds of copycats. RZA has also released solo albums as Bobby Digital, as well as doing soundtracks for Jim Jarmusch's film "Ghost Dog: The Way of The Samurai," and Quentin Tarantino's "Kill Bill" films. He also acted in Ridley Scott's recent "American Gangster."
