Decatur, Georgia – January 25, 26, 2007 The first Annual Youth Against Violence Educational Workshop produced by Doreen Broadax and Treasure Togetherness Foundation will be presented on January 25 and 26, 2008 with the main event on January 26, 2008, at the New Life Center 3592 Flat Shoals Road, in Decatur Georgia .
"The Youth against violence education workshop encourages the philosophy everyone can have a successful life without violence and emphasizes the importance of pursuit of excellence in education, purity, self-respect, and righteous," says Doreen Broadax, the event founder.
The event will be hosted by Doreen Broadnax, aka legendary Hip Hop Artist Sparky D and TV personality Jesus Juice. Keynote speakers include legendary Artist Grandmaster Caz, Life Coach Mr. CC Carter, Principal Robert Williams, Principal Margarett Dunn, Former Atlanta Hawks Dion Glover, Dr. Wilson, Hands on Atlanta Malieka and Charles Braum who worked with Dr. Martin Luther King.
Hundreds of youth will have the opportunity to experience virtual rites of passage experience through life skills enhancement work shops and panels. The ultimate goals are for the youth to be confident and strong and ready in all they do for themselves as well as the community. Some of the topics in the work shop are titled as Keeping it Real and Righteous, Keeping it Pure with Purity, Youth Business Life Coach, Academic learning thru Hip Hop, Employment Readiness , Event Planning and Speak out Against Youth Violence.
Doreen Broadnax dream was to have a place where youth can grow and learn to choose the right path, a place to illustrate the many ways to be successful without youth violence. Some of the companies that have helped to make this workshop a reality are, Mc Donalds Restaurant, Mr. Bill Rausal, Subway, Taco Bell and the New Life Center .
There will be live performance on Friday by Eddie Hollywood, Trey N Double, Kaboom JT, Mark Daniel, Infamous, Destiny, Luciana Williams Crank da Church Up. Saturday is the big concert with performance by Cameron, Marla Moore Lil Dude Comedian Troy Huff, Sherrie MCray Min James Jay Kyles & DFG Music Ministries Inc, with dj music by GO Ye DJ "DJ Lace".
