Minister Farrakhan to Deliver Historic "One Nation Under God" Message in Detroit on February 25

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--On Saviours' Day Sunday, February 25 the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan will deliver his most historic message yet, "One Nation Under God" at the Ford Field in Detroit, MI. After undergoing a major 12-hour surgery one month ago, Minister Farrakhan will address the public on the importance of interfaith dialogue and opening discussions among all races, religions and cultures. Doors open at 12 noon, the pre-program begins at 1:00 pm and Minister Farrakhan's main address is at 2:00.

In a public service announcement Minister Louis Farrakhan emphasized the oneness of God and stated “And for those of you who prayed for my recovery, words are not adequate to express my deep, deep sense of personal gratitude. Each of you can go back to your mosques, your churches, your cathedrals, your synagogues, your temples, your cloisters. Where ever it is that you worship God, and say to your congregation, that our god, by whatever name you call him, answers prayers…. How then could I come through this illness and this horrific operation, and, not thank god for a message that would be universal in its scope. And Universal in its power to heal the human condition.”

The Hip-Hop Summit Action Network’s Co-Chairmen Russell Simmons and Dr. Benjamin Chavis Muhammad are among the supporters of this monumental event. “He has been the soul and the consciousness of hip-hop. He has had the greatest influence on me and is my spiritual teacher,” emphasized Russell Simmons. “Every one in hip-hop should be there to honor this man because he has given us so much. Bizzy Bone is Back With His "Walk in My Shoes" Campaign and Explains Spiritual Journey to Address The Plight of the Homeless

Los Angeles , CA. (The Platinum Group) -- It has been said that one of the best ways to understand another person's point of view is to walk a mile in their shoes. It's no secret that in 2004, Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum recording artist Bizzy Bone, suffering from drug and alcohol abuse, voluntarily began life living on the streets, giving up all his money and material wealth, and embarked on a journey that changed his life forever.

For several months, Bizzy walked on foot, trying to get from his hometown of Columbus to Cleveland. After many miles and blisters on his feet, Bizzy could walk no more. It was a long, hard road for him and not all the critics have been kind in his absence. Many were puzzled and confused at the bizarre behavior and sightings of Bizzy sleeping in bus stations and on the streets.

Much speculation has surfaced about this drastic turn of events. However, now clean and focused, Bizzy explains, “Wandering in my desolate state, I had an overwhelming desire to surrender myself. My journey then became spiritual and my relationship with God was personal, between me and him.”

As a twist of faith would have it, it was through poverty and the renunciation of his ego, that Bizzy crossed a spiritual threshold that turned his journey around to where he is now using his celebrity status to address the plight of the homeless crisis.

“I walked for a purpose. I walked for people who have no home, fame, fortune, or glory. I walked for those people who didn’t care whether or not I am a Grammy Award winner or sold millions of records. I walked for the people who have no one to turn to in their time of need. I walked for the real soul survivors,” said Bizzy.

While traveling on foot through Ohio , Bizzy said, “I’ve learned more about life from the homeless, who are the ultimate survivors than I have anywhere else. I admire them. I’ve learned a lot about respect because I’ve seen and lived their struggles first hand. When I realized I could be useful in communicating what I had learned, I thought maybe it would inspire other people to educate themselves on this issue and do some good.”

Later this year, Bizzy plans to create a revolution in public awareness with his “Walk In My Shoes” outreach campaign that will address this growing problem by forming alliances and partnerships with non-profit homeless organizations serving various regions, beginning with Columbus Ohio .

“Many people don’t know this about me, but outside music, my focus has always been to help the homeless and less fortunate, said Bizzy.”  Bizzy also said, “This new program will be like the one me and my manager Kanardo, did a few years ago. Twice, within the same year, we rented a private location and gave away more than 1000 dinners that included, fresh turkeys, dressing, vegetables, bread, juices, fruit and desserts to homeless families in the Columbus area. During the Christmas holidays, we did the same thing but on a much larger scale. Not only did we give away food, but shoes as well as clothing and toys to the kids.”

Today, Bizzy is busy with a new lease on life and his career. In addition to his advocacy plans, he just inked a major deal with Virgin Records of America and After Platinum Records. His label debut, “A Song For You” is due for a 2007 release. Imperial Records, the urban label and artist development unit of Caroline/EMI music will assist in marketing and promoting the new album.

With his solid team of music industry veterans that includes his managers, Kanardo Davis and Nena Jackson, along with Ernie Romero, CEO of After Platinum Records and the production force of After Platinum Records, Bizzy’s says there’s little danger that he will ever go back to his old ways. “I’m working with professionals who understand the nature of this business, people that I respect and trust. YBM and TUAS Celebrates the First Annual Midnight Madness Event

LAS VEGAS, FEBRUARY 22, 2007   Hip-hop's most distinguished producer, Reg T, recently hosted an all star event, with special guest host Idris Elba, best known as Stringer Bell on HBO's "The Wire", and star of the must see Tyler Perry film "Daddy's Little Girls".  Idris is also known as Big Driis / Big Driis the Londoner has a large female fan following and thus appeared on the cover of Essence's "Hot Hollywood Men" issue, April 2004 and again in Essence's November 2005 "10 Hottest Men on the Planet" issue.

The first annual Midnight Madness celebration began at 12:00 AM and rocked on till 6:00 AM.  This marked the first time the NBA has brought their “All-Star” weekend to the city of Las Vegas.   The event ranked #7 in the Top 2007 NBA All-Star Weekend Events in February (http://blackbeachweek.com/nbaallstarwe.html).

Held at the Venetian Resort Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, YBM and The Unsigned Artist Show (TUAS) once again produced a luxury experience for partygoers, playing host to several hundred invitees representing the who's who of the urban entertainment and NBA world. Noted celebrities spied enjoying the party were Joe Clair (BET’s Rap City), Sofia Stewart (Mother of the Matrix, Jamie Hector (Marlo Stanfield from HBO’s “The Wire”), Kim Tumey (CEO of KTE), as well as the legendary Jim Jones (rapper and founding member of The Diplomats, Director of A&R for Warner Music Group) who not only got the party started, but shut it down.  Other notable attendees included: DStyles (Designer), who premiered custom sneakers and accessories, revealing his exclusive limited edition shell toed Adidas; and Reuben Gordon, Andy, and Ron Brown, of IGP Team (Infinity Global Partners).

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Grammy nominated audio and mix engineer, Ethan Willoughby, was killed in a car accident on Sunday, February 18th, as a result of being hit by a drunk driver.

Born, December 12, 1976 in Evansville, Wisconsin, Ethan attended the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in Tempe, Arizona, earning his degree in engineering and production education. After graduating in 1999, Ethan began his career in music training as an assistant under his mentor, famed mix engineer Dave Pensado, at The Enterprise Studio in North Hollywood, CA. A recent comparison of BMRC and non-BMRC participants illustrates the impact of the program on today's young people. Findings suggest close to 80% of BMRC volunteers are likely to volunteer again in the future -- without a concert ticket/reward. "Flyentology" was written by El-P after he experienced a near fatal plane crash. The emcee/producer has always had an intense fear of flying, and his worst nightmare came true on a recent flight. Shortly after take-off, one of the engines exploded and the plane had to make a rough emergency landing. In the aftermath of the traumatic incident, El-P reexamined his thoughts on faith and religion. "I realized that my spiritual life exists only while on planes. During the experience I found myself praying, and I don’t even know how to pray. So this is my song about religion, which I think a lot of people can relate to. It’s my admittance of being an asshole who thinks he’s better than God until the very moment when I realize that not only am I not, but I really, really want God to love me and take care of me," explained El-P.

El-P first worked with Trent Reznor when he remixed the NIN front man's single "Only." They kept in touch and when El-P began production work on "Flyentology," he realized that Reznor would be the perfect addition for the song. Reznor worked on the track while on tour and emailed El-P his takes. "Trent completely surprised me by how generous he was creatively," said El-P. "Every part I asked him to do he did several versions of so that I could choose my favorites. It made me wonder if I were as famous as he is if I would be that cool. I hope so."

Vampire Hip Hop comedy feature film now casting!

Sedgwick & Cedar '73 The Heritage Brand of Hip Hop, was founded by the pioneers of the culture such as DJ Kool Herc, Africa Bambaataa, Melle Mel, Sha-rock and others in 2005. ‘Sedgwick & Cedar '73: Where it all began’ will feature some of hip hop’s brightest up and coming emcees both male and female. “This mix tape is about celebrating hip hop as an art form by embracing its future. We are seeking a collective of some of the country’s brightest emcees, from various cultures, backgrounds and influences. There are only fourteen spots so we are going to be very selective with the process. We have to be because of the brand we are representing,” says Jayar Browne, mix tape coordinator and CEO of 1Million Sold. The It's All About M.E.E. (Media, Expression, and Education) Festival is a 3-day multi-media celebration taking place from February 23–25, 2007. It's All About M.E.E combines the best of our Freshest Youth Program, the Urban Word NYC Poetry Slam Final, and the Hip-Hop Education Summit [H2Ed].

Also taking place on this day will be the panel discussion, "When the Gun Draws: Addressing the Epidemic of Gun Violence and the Propaganda Behind It" featuring Legendary Lyricist, Pharaohe Monch, who will be joined by distinguished panelists to examine the rash of gun violence sweeping the nation and strategies to alleviate this preventable plague which is disproportionately effecting Black and Brown communities nationwide.

Panelists include Raqiyah Mays of The Ave Magazine (Moderator), Piper Anderson of Black Out Arts Collective, Hezues R of Guns 4 Camers, Monifa Bandele of the Malcolm X Grassroots Movement and Terrence Fisher, Director of Bullets In The Hood, winner of the 2005 Sundance Film Festival Short Filmmaking award.
