B-Legit Preps Block Movement With Release Of 'Throwblock Muzic' This November

Bay Area rapper, B Legit, gets ready to release his upcoming solo album Throwblock Muzic.

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) September 28, 2007 -- B-Legit has been a major player on the West Coast for many years as both a founding father of the independent rap scene and strong contributor to the Bay Area Hip Hop movement. B-Legit also put some tracks on the album that were until that time only released on mixtapes, he remixed them and added new artists to the songs. Throwblock Muzic is only the first phase in B-Legit's Block Movement. "My last album hit before the Hyphy Movement broke, I'm known for that classic mob music so I fell back and went to work. (September 26, 2007 - Brooklyn, NY)  Seminal rapper, hip-hop icon, and founding member of the mighty Hieroglyphics crew, Del The Funky Homosapien has embarked on the beginning of a 2-month long nationwide tour in support of his long anticipated album, The 11th Hour.  The tour, which shares the name of his upcoming album, will also feature fellow Hiero founder A-Plus, along with Devin The Dude with the Coughee Brothers, Bukue One, The Serendipity Projects and special guests Knobody and Junk Science to perform on select dates.

On the 11th Hour Tour, Del will be performing a mix of classic cuts from his previous albums along with new tracks from the upcoming album, including the tracks "Sit Down" and "Workin' It."  The aptly named The 11th Hour marks Del's first solo release in almost 7 years. Having experienced his fair share of life's trials and tribulations over the course of his long and successful career, Del explained the reason for the album title. "You can't fully control all the different variables that come into play in your life.  Something is bound to be faulty and set you back," says Del.  He explains, "I've spent the last couple of years dealing with drama in my life, touring the country several times over, and diving deep into studying music theory."  Fans can celebrate the fruits of Del's labor of love with the release of The 11th Hour in early '08.

For The 11th Hour, Del has partnered with legendary New York based indie hip-hop label Definitive Jux, with the backing of the label he helped create, Hiero Imperium.

Bursting onto the scene in 1990, Del the Funky Homosapien started his professional career writing lyrics for his cousin Ice Cube's crew, Da Lench Mob when he was still in high school. RAPPER TRINA's OFFICAL FIRST SINGLE "SINGLE AGAIN" STOLEN FROM AN UNDISCLOSED STUDIO

(Miami- Florida) Miami based record label Slip N Slide was informed yesterday September 25 th, 2007 that  their female artist Trina newest unreleased single entitled "Single Again" was stolen from the studio and leaked in an email blast. In hast however the perpetrator stole the wrong version on the track.

With a more than "high demand" for the critically acclaimed "Queen of The South" to speed up her come back process, Insiders speculate that a anxious individual stole the Un -leaked single entitled 'Single Again' from the computer and distributed it illegally.

CEO of Slip N Slide Records Ted Lucas, states that "This mishap is extremely unfortunate and that the official "Single Again" track ft. Trina by herself will be Re-released the proper way by the end of the week, I am thankful that nothing else was taken from the computer, I guess we can look at this as a bizarre experience and move forward with upcoming Trina's project."

Rapping Sensation Trina is in complete shock, and at a lost for words at a time in music when a break in occurs due to the high demand and secrecy of a new single being released.

I AM HIP HOP 2: The Resurrection promises twice the fun, twice the classic hip hop music and culture, twice the excitement and for the eight MCs competing in the Battle, twice the prize money.

This second installment in the series, hosted by "The Trini Tech.Nition, Jus Jase" is scheduled to embellish Pabloz Sports Bar, Long Circular Road, St James, Trinidad on October 6 from 9 pm to 3 am. The first event was held on June 9 at the same venue and attracted over 200 hip-hop loving patrons for a night of celebration, exaltation and exchanges of information.

"The first event was beautiful," said Jason "Jus Jase" Alleyne. "We had a lovely turnout, a really fun time and a thoroughly exciting MC Battle. Fulfilling my role as a true DJ, I included as part of my mix that night, a session dedicated to the late, great, James Brown: The Godfather of Soul and an artiste whose music had been sampled heavily by the hip-hop generation. Many people in the audience knew and respected his work, while others only knew his name, but by the time the night was over, everyone knew what James Brown meant to hip-hop and that James Brown is hip-hop!

"So what we're doing with each of these events is fulfilling the hip-hop philosophy bit by bit: we assemble in the spirit of peace, love and unity, we have fun and we teach each other about our history, so we can move forward together into the future. I learnt something that night as well: that crowd taught me that hip-hop is alive and well here in T&T and we can still appreciate that classic, feel good music that you hardly ever hear on the radio. Nowadays, it's all commercial, but it's refreshing to know that people are still checking for that real hip-hop."

Of course, I AM HIP HOP: The Event also featured the first national MC Battle, which was won by George "Hollo" Clarke after a sizzling three round of intense lyrical warfare. "Hollo" will return to the arena where he claimed victory to defend his title against 7 hungry MCs at I AM HIP HOP 2: The Resurrection.

Cuban-American Rapper and MC Pitbull Entertains Troops on USO Tour to Korea and Okinawa

ARLINGTON, Va., Sept. 26 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Bilingual rapper Armando Perez, best known by his stage name Pitbull, just wrapped up his journey to Korea and Okinawa, where he performed for troops as part of a USO tour. This was the first USO tour for Pitbull, who brought his lyrical prowess and infectious sound to the region. Singer newcomer Mark Daniel opened for the star while on tour.

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) closed this year's highly successful MIXX Conference and Expo with the presentation last night of the third annual MIXX Awards. The MIXX Awards are the only honor devoted exclusively to interactive advertising, and the only juried competition that recognizes excellence in both creativity and effectiveness. Senior leaders from marketing, advertising, and media companies celebrated the teams and talent that have pushed interactive to unprecedented achievement. The multimedia extravaganza was emceed by comedian John Heffron, Winner of NBC's hit reality series, "Last Comic Standing 2."

Marc Ecko Announces Fate of 756th Homerun Ball

- Public Votes to Send Ball to Cooperstown with Asterisk -

NEW YORK, Sept. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- The public has spoken and with over 10 million votes received, Barry Bonds' 756th home run ball is heading to the National Baseball Hall of Fame, marked with an asterisk as a permanent footnote to the homerun record.

On September 15th, 2007, Marc Ecko bought Barry Bonds' 756th homerun ball at auction. For the next eight days, the country was encouraged to publicly debate the ball's fate by visiting www.vote756.com and choose to: (a) Bestow it intact to Cooperstown, (b) Permanently brand the ball with an asterisk before sending it to Cooperstown, or (c) launch it into space.

Mr. Ecko unveiled the results of the voting live on NBC's "Today" show, with 47 percent voting to add the asterisk; 34 percent to give it to the Hall of Fame intact; and 19 percent to send it into space. Combined, over 80 percent of voters believed the ball should go to Cooperstown, and over two- thirds felt that doubts surrounding the record needed to be recognized.

Commenting on the results, Mr. Ecko stated, "The fans have spoken and the asterisk will forever be part of the history of this ball. It is a reflection of fans' sentiments and will be preserved by the Hall of Fame in this manner. This was never about the record. I saw the purchase of the ball as an opportunity to open a national conversation using new media - the internet, blogs, videos - to allow America's oldest sport to have America's most modern conversation. The people should be the arbiters of what is historically significant about this artifact. The opportunities for expression, and our participation in the public square, are endless."

The event, which targets young professionals and emerging leaders ages 21 to 40, will be held from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Room 201 of the Washington Convention Center. 

The forum will be hosted by Representative Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS), who also serves as Chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus Political Education and Leadership Institute.  "I believe that the time is now to provide an opportunity for our emerging leaders to be heard and I will ensure that the issues raised at the town hall are addressed by the candidates at each of the presidential debates hosted by the CBC," said Thompson.

Other participating CBC members include: Keith Ellison (D-MN), Jesse Jackson Jr. (D-IL), Laura Richardson (D-CA), Ed Towns (D-NY), and Mel Watt (D-NC).

At the end of the panel discussion, the group expects to have a solid base for creating a policy paper that will be used as a reference tool for local elected officials, community leaders and candidates for addressing issues of concern to emerging leaders within the Black community.

"One of the things that will come out of the conversation is a formal document that will inform the decisions and public comments of presidential candidates and other elected officials about Black Americans in 2008 and beyond," said David Johns, coalition member. "We will address some of the most contentious issues facing our generation, including access to education and quality healthcare, political participation, and the importance of developing a comprehensive agenda, all issues that disproportionately impact Black Americans."

The group expects the participation of elected officials, presidential candidates, celebrities, political strategists, and a host of community organizations.

"The political agenda of this generation is definitely distinct from the agenda of our forefathers," noted Angela Rye, a member of the Emerging Leaders Coalition. "This forum will serve as an opportunity to identify significant policy issues and propose solutions to concerns specific to our demographic that will directly influence conversations around the 2008 Presidential election."
