Adult Swim Presents First Nationwide Concert Tours

September 14, 2007
ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Adult Swim, Cartoon Network's highly rated late-night programming block for young adults, today announces its first two nationwide concert tours. In usual Adult Swim style, the 24-campus music tour promises to be like no other. On October 1, a 12-campus hip-hop tour begins with a concert at the State University of New York campus in Albany, featuring Ghostface Killah and Witchdoctor. On October 29, a 12-campus heavy metal tour lets loose with headliner And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead. Opening for Trail of Dead is none other than Dethklok, the heavy metal band from Adult Swim's Metalocalypse television series. All shows are free and open to the public. Tickets can be obtained online at www.adultswimpresents.com.

Headlining the hip-hop tour is Ghostface Killah (Def Jam). Also known as Dennis Coles, Ghostface Killah rose to fame as a member of the Wu-Tang Clan hip hop collective. Now on the Def Jam label, Ghostface Killah is responsible for six critically-acclaimed records and in 2006 teamed up with MF DOOM to produce a not-yet-released album.

Witchdoctor, also known as Eric Johnson, is an established member of Atlanta's Dungeon Family collective, which includes Goodie Mob, OutKast, Killer Mike, Big Rube and many others. A veteran of the Southern rap game, he has lent his unique voice and style to several albums, including OutKast and Goodie Mob. Witchdoctor's new album, "Diary of an American Witchdoctor," will be released October 23 on Adult Swim's Williams Street record label.

And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead (Interscope Records) will headline the heavy metal tour. Formed in 1994 by singers/guitarists/drummers Jason Reece and Conrad Keely, Trail of Dead eventually signed to Interscope Records and in 2002 issued the formidable album "Source Tags & Codes." Their most recent album, "So Divided," was released in late 2006. Opening for Trail of Dead is the self-described world's most popular and heaviest metal band, Dethklok. Dethklok and its band members are the stars of the popular Adult Swim animated series, Metalocalypse, the brainchild of creators Brendon Small and Tommy Blacha. For the Adult Swim tour, Small, who is the lead vocalist, brings the animated characters to life with a real live band. Dethklok's first album, "Metalocalypse: Dethklok The Dethalbum," will be released on Williams Street September 25.

Teed Off from the Criminalization of Hip Hop, the Hip Hop Celebrity Golf Challenge Tour Kicks-Off During the 2nd Annual BET Hip Hop Awards

ATLANTA, Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Yomi Martin (Vokal/Apple Bottoms), Robin Aikens (LPGA), Lil Jordan (Golfer/Rapper), and more favorites from Hollywood and Hip Hop added everyday, gear up for the Hip Hop Celebrity Golf Challenge Tour. Touching Atlanta, Miami, Verona, Dubai (S.A.), and Hong Kong (C.H.) with a grand championship in Las Vegas, this golf tour vows to revolutionize the image of Hip Hop.

From Russell Simmons' Hip Hop Summit to Oprah's Town Hall Meeting there's been an international cry to change the criminalization of Hip Hop. Stepping to the mic is S.E. Day, Michael Jones, and Walter Briggs.

Marketing extraordinaires S.E. Day and Michael Jones co-founded the United States Black Golf Association (USBGA) in 2001. An answer for the growing participation of minorities in golf, the USBGA prides itself in continuing to pave the way for greater advancements and opportunities.

"Mastering the game of golf is not a simple task, but one that requires a sense of discipline and the ability to focus. Both are characteristics that are also integral to competing in the game of life. The USBGA has successfully fostered these principles through several initiatives that we have taken to further the participation of minorities in the game of golf," says the USBGA (re: http://www.usbga.com/). S.E. Day and Michael Jones fatefully partnered with Walter Briggs for the Hip Hop Celebrity Golf Challenge Tour in order to further fulfill their mission to apply the principles of golf to life and, in this case, Hip Hop life.

Former NY Jets quarterback and sportscaster for ESPN Radio, Walter Briggs of WB and Me LLC., has watched the demise of Hip Hop over the past years as an entertainment producer. "Enough is enough! It's time we take the debate further, adding the missing pieces. Most organizations provide a political or economic platform. The Hip Hop Celebrity Golf Challenge Tour represents a social platform and visibility for the 'entire' culture. Hip Hop is more than music, it's a movement...that doesn't exist without the Fashion, Technology, Media and more that provides inertia. This is a place where Executives, Journalists, and Producers of Hip Hop can mingle with mainstream Professionals, Power Brokers, and Government Officials under a sport noted for unifying people." Walter Briggs ends, "It's the etiquette of golf we aim to pass to our Artists and the code of our culture we'd like to share with the mainstream. I don't endorse the criminalization of some Artists, but Art does imitate Life. Hopefully we [Hip Hop and Society] can make a change together...during the Hip Hop Celebrity Golf Challenge Tour."

A Press Conference will be held for the Hip Hop Celebrity Golf Challenge Tour on September 21, 2007, 9am-11am, at the Stone Mountain Golf Resort (GA). From October 12-14, 2007 in Stone Mountain GA, the Hip Hop Celebrity Golf Challenge Tour will convene to enhance the representation of the Hip Hop culture. Please contact Qn. ATL native T.I. leads all Hip Hop Awards nominees with nine nods. T.I. is up for possible honors in the Best Collabo, Best Live Performance, Lyricist of the Year, MVP, Track of the Year, CD of the Year, Hustler of the Year, Best Ringbone and Viewer's Choice categories.

"We are so glad to be back in Atlanta once again for this year's version of what, in its debut, became the single hottest show in hip-hop," says Stephen Hill, Executive Vice President, Entertainment Programming, Music and Talent. "We're at a crucial point in the life of this music; its messages and language have been scrutinized more this year than any other time in its history. I hope all hip-hop critics and fans will watch this show that will show all sides of the genre proudly and authentically. Love it. Hate it. The 'BET Hip Hop Awards 2007' will have style, substance and swagger." Other artists with multiple nods include Lil' Wayne with seven, Kanye West with six, Common with five, Jay-Z with four, Ludacris and 50 Cent with three, and Diddy and UGK with two. Also, the legendary hip hop artist KRS-One, known for his political and socially conscious raps, will be honored with the "I Am Hip Hop" Icon Award.

For the second year in a row, BET also adds an international twist to the Hip Hop Awards by partnering with British music entities MTV Base and 1 Xtra BBC to create a special award around the British urban music scene. Five established hip-hop artists from the United Kingdom will battle for recognition by British hip-hop fans as Best UK Hip-Hop Artist. This category allows BET International to spotlight British hip-hop, and the winner will be announced in the UK on October 1 via radio and MTV BASE News.

Additionally, this year BET viewers and BET Digital users will have an opportunity to enter the BET Hip Hop Awards Hot 16 Challenge, judged by hip- hop mogul Jermaine Dupri. The winners will become VIP's at specified BET Hip Hop Awards events. The contest prizes include: A trip to The BET Hip Hop Awards 2007 for the winner and their entourage, a walk down the red carpet, party passes to the SoSoDef/BET Digital Pre-party and tickets to the Hip Hop Awards show. Log onto www.bet.com/hot16 for more information.

Elevating the star presence at the Atlanta Civic Center is red-hot host, comedian/actor Katt Williams. Although hosting an awards show - particularly one with this caliber of talent - is no easy gig, Katt says he's up for the challenge. Perhaps best known for his scene-stealing turn as Money Mike in "Friday After Next" and his HBO stand-up comedy special "The Pimp Chronicles, Part 1," Williams will lace the historic event with his edgy, brash and hilarious flavor.

Last year's inaugural The BET Hip Hop Awards 2007 drew an impressive 2.93 rating, which translated into 3.64 million viewers (2.44 million households) according to Nielsen Media Research. The show featured massive hip-hop stars Diddy, Busta Rhymes, Snoop Dogg, Nelly, Chamillionaire, Yung Joc, Keyshia Cole, Remy Ma, Rick Ross and the dirty south's own Jermaine Dupri, Ludacris, T.I. and Young Jeezy, among others. Additionally, it honored one of the hip- hop world's pioneering figures, Grand Master Flash, with the "I Am Hip Hop" Icon Award.

The BET Hip Hop Awards 2007 is sponsored by General Motors and Alltel Wireless.

Hip Hop at its Finest: In the Shadow of an Icon

The latest project from Thug Life Army Records titled 'In the Shadow of an Icon' is a collaboration of artists who all learned and grew out of the words and teachings of the hip hop Icon Tupac Shakur (2Pac).

The project contains no music by Tupac, but it does reveal artists who grew out of the shadow of the hip hop Icon.

As Tupac did in his short life, Thug Life Army Records looked for hip hop and rap artists who could use a 'hand up' to get their talent noticed. The VP of Thug Life Army Records, RB says "We hope this project will do just that. Our hope is this project will bring 'light' to those artists who have participated out of love for Tupac and what they learned from his lyrics. Hip Hop is not 'Dead' as many people believe; most people are just not looking in the right places."

When asked about the artists on the CD RB explains "On the project there will be some artists names that you will recognize, while others may be new to you; but the artists represented on the CD 'In the Shadow of an Icon' are some of the best conscious hip hop and rap representatives from all over North America – 'Coast' to 'Coast' and Canada."

When asked about the direction the music takes in the CD, RB explains "The various sides and teachings of the 'man', Tupac Amaru Shakur are represented on this CD - from his street side, to his political side, to his deep inner self. A total look is taken at the course Tupac had traveled in his short life. A picture of Tupac's life is a picture of many of our lives. His up's and down's are roads many of us have shared along the way. That is why Tupac gained the respect of almost everyone in the hip hop community - we could feel his pain and joys, as he felt ours. His words and teachings remain relevant today because the situation has not changed since Pac first started exposing the real truth of hood life, and the artists on this project continue with Pac's message of 'keeping it real' thru real talk. No spinning rims or drinking in the club, just solid true about the reality of being raised in a society that does not understand you or your situation."

"Violence has touched many in this country, not only the hip hop community. This is not only a requiem for the life of Tupac and for all the fallen 'souljahs' who have died needlessly or have found themselves in situations they cannot control, but it also emphasizes why the lyrics that Tupac spit and the knowledge he put forth is still relevant today; because nothing has really changed over the last 11 years since Tupac was murdered, and the artists on this project came together to put out a hip hop album with a 'meaningful message'."

With over 25 different artists participating in the project, there are many backgrounds and each artist has their own region where they rep from and their own experiences in life.

The official 'leak' song titled 'Speed of Life' by K-Loron, was released on MySpace (at http://www.myspace.com/intheshadowofanicon ) this past week-end.

VP of Thug Life Army Records, RB says about K-Loron "K-Loron was picked for this project for not only his uniqueness as an artist but as an individual. Here is a smart black man who is not your mainstream hip hop artist. His head is on straight and he knows and is dedicated to the direction he wants to go in. K-Loron is good for hip hop and that is something hip hop needs now more than ever. We need people in the industry who understand hip hop and understand the power the mic holds and who can put that 'power' to good use with good positive music and it is coming from a good role model; K-Loron fits this bill".

The artist K-Loron is the featured artist of Rising to the Top Records, a record label based out of Akron , Ohio . His real name is Kaleb Loron Singleton, and he was reared in Canton , Ohio by his parents Ronald and Emma Singleton.

At the age of twelve K-Loron started rapping, and continued his love for music by participating in every available talent show. He continued honing his craft in local studios amassing an extensive catalog of material.

Among recent works, K-Loron has performed in numerous venues, including the Agora in Cleveland , Ohio . He has also appeared as a guest on the talk show 'A Womans Point', hosted by Stephana Caviness.

K-Loron keeps it real; NO venue is too large or too small. 1 fan is just as important to him as 1,000,000 fans.  K-Loron has also featured in numerous television commercials, among which include the Cleveland Cavaliers, and the Ohio Lottery. He also has a major role in up and coming movies, the names of which can't disclose at this time but you will surely hear of them.

With a distinct delivery and extraordinary wordplay, K-Loron is poised to become the next icon in the music industry. K-Loron is a social poet, and a lyricist with a fierce desire to portray his talents to the entire world. He has the ability to appeal to a wide range of audiences, and to evolve and adapt to leading edge musical ideas. His mind is NOT in a box. K-Loron plans to change the direction of hip hop by creating music that has substance and meaning. He has something to say. K-Loron is a high powered hip hop artist who definitely is in the shadow of icons such as Tupac (2Pac) and the like.

K-Loron is affiliated with a host of producers and label execs including: 2-5olid Records, Weezie Productions and Thug Life Army Records.

**Special Thanks goes to Frank Miranda, Robert (aka RB), and Bani Chapman.

Artists from these camps to look out for include: Concrete Souljahs, Black, Binky Mack, L.O.P., Lil Akright, Dia-Mendz, and Leah "Kola" Wright.

Here is the track list for 'In the Shadow of an Icon' and more information can be found at http://www.myspace.com/intheshadowofanicon or on the Thug Life Army Records web site at http://thuglifearmyrecords.com . Immediately we wanted to support their efforts in an intimate way," writes Room Service Group president and founder of the Hip Hop Institute, Wes Jackson. "As we talk about the current subgenres of Hip Hop like crunk, snap, and glitch it is important to document movements like New Jack Swing. What is known as New Jack Swing gave us Pharell, Bobby Brown, and Diddy. Having Andre Harrell and Barry Michael Cooper join us we will be getting the story straight from the horse's mouth."

The second panel will celebrate Q-Tip, Phife, and Ali Shaheed Muhammad, the legendary A Tribe Called Quest. With our esteemed panel we will really speak on how this amazing group grew into such a powerful force while creating some of the best albums Hip-Hop has ever seen or heard."

Both panels will feature the brightest minds from online and traditional journalism, publishing, the blogosphere, film and TV, artists as well as top label executives.

The FADER And Southern Comfort Announce The Fourth Seven-Inch Vinyl of The 2007 Series

New York, NY: The FADER magazine, the definitive voice of emerging music, and Southern Comfort announce the fourth installment in the series of limited-edition 7-inch vinyl releases curated by the editors of The FADER. Due to the overwhelming success of the four pressings, The FADER and Southern Comfort are currently planning another batch of 7-Inches for 2008. This rare pressing of only 500 copies will also be accessible to readers of The FADER, as they have a chance to win the exclusive recordings online at thefader.com.

Previous releases in the series have included match-ups with the likes of indie stars M Ward and Ladyhawk, dancehall masters Busy Signal and Mavado as well as no-limit rockers Black Lips and YACHT. Continuing their tradition of showcasing emerging artists, The Fader and Southern Comfort are spinning out the 2007 series with the musical stylings of Ed Banger DJ Busy P and 410 area code aficionado DJ Blaqstarr.

Pedro Winter AKA Busy P kicks off the 45 with "Pedrophilia." In true Parisian fashion, the track's electrophonic attitude sways with a sleek haute couture. The beat's solid three-minute rhythmic soundscape pulsates with a heavy kick countered by the track's only lyric: "BUSY P" stitching together form and function. Flipping the wax gives way to DJ Blaqstarr with his dance ready "I Can Feel It In The Air." Driving beats and a thumping kick give rise to the to self proclaimed "King of ROQ's" club-bumping trademark. Rounding out the record Southern Comfort and The FADER enlisted Japanese artist Tomoe Hamaya to ninjafy the cover.

About RockCorps

RockCorps is an organization that harnesses the power of music to inspire volunteerism. Based on the early work of The Greenbucks Foundation, RockCorps was founded in 2003 to affect social change and act as the bridge between communities in need and the young adults who want to make them better. RockCorps' goals are to introduce volunteerism to teens and young adults, motivate people to volunteer in their community and launch a national movement. The company has formulated a unique blend of music, community and volunteerism to expose young people to simple ways they can proactively contribute to the greater good. The program employs music as an incentive to entice and then funnel volunteers through established non-profit organizations. By completing four hours of community service, each participant receives a ticket to a signature RockCorps event which features performances by some of the hottest names in music. Jermaine Dupri's Upcoming Book Release; YOUNG, RICH, AND DANGEROUS: My Life in Music

Jermaine Dupri with Samantha Marshall

NEW YORK, Sept. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- The platinum prodigy of the music world, and the wizard behind many of today's bestselling artists, Jermaine Dupri, went on the road with the New York Fresh Fest -- the first national Hip Hop music tour -- as an opening act dancer when he was only twelve years old. It gave him a taste for a lifestyle and a glimpse at his own talent, and changed his life forever.

The Fresh Fest hit 50 cities in three months, with performers like Whodini, The Fat Boys, Run DMC, Grandmaster Flash, and Kurtis Blow. They'd slam into town, rehearse or give interviews, grab some food, perform, party, and start all over again the next day. The audience adored him as a child; he was hooked. More importantly, his early ability to please a crowd primed him to see the raw material of stardom in others. He was only 16 when he discovered the child rap duo Kris Kross, and just 20 when he started his own independent record label. Today, as the president of Island Records Urban Music, Dupri is the youngest of three hip-hop moguls holding executive positions at large labels. YOUNG, RICH, AND DANGEROUS: My Life in Music (Atria Books; October 2007; $24.95) by Jermaine Dupri with Samantha Marshall recounts the thrilling journey of Dupri's early prodigal success, but it also offers a roadmap for thousands who dream of making it big in the boardroom or on the Billboard 100, and reveals the candid truth of what really happens behind the music.

In 1990, still in his teens, Dupri discovered Chris Kelly and Chris Smith in the Greenbriar Mall, shopping for sneakers. "What struck me about the Chrises was the way their personality came through . . . It was like those kids were waiting to be discovered ever since they became friends in the first grade. I saw something in them that I could bring out with some hard work and imagination." Dupri explains how he built that first album from scratch. He describes how the duo all but moved in with Dupri and his mother, how he persuaded them to braid their hair and wear their clothes backwards, creating their image, and how he wrote, produced and recorded all the music on a secondhand four-track recorder. He invented kiddie rap, and he was rewarded with incredible success, proving that his instincts couldn't have been more on target. Kris Kross started a trend in America that went beyond the music, and placed Dupri's feet on the road to power.

Following that first album, EMI signed him as a songwriter and Columbia Records wrote him a check for $1 million to scout and produce new acts. It was the birth of So So Def Productions. It was also one of the original relationships between a major label and an independent hip-hop label.

Later Dupri would team up with such superstars as Mariah Carey, the girls from TLC, Lil' Bow Wow, Elton John, Bobby Brown, Usher and others. But YOUNG, RICH, AND DANGEROUS shares stories that illustrate the price as well as the glory of success -- the scary time an overly ambitious musician rear-ended him in order to get him to accept his demo tape; the backlash he's suffered from critics skeptical of his artists' continuing fame; the tough competition within the industry to stay fresh with what's new on the streets. Dupri presents the close-up faces of stars of the industry ("Usher loves real hard. I've seen him in the studio where he's so into a girl he can't even record,") and relates his own personal history -- the birth of his daughter, and story of getting to know a crush from his childhood who is now the love of his life: Janet Jackson.

With never-before-seen photographs from studios, parties, and awards shows, YOUNG, RICH, AND DANGEROUS presents not only the exhilarating step-by- step moves of someone who has risen to the top of this remarkable business, but uniquely, someone who still remembers what matters most: the discovery and the process and the music. Some of the most exciting moments of this Grammy- winner's life are presented, along with invaluable wisdom for those wanting to follow in an idolmaker's path. As his close friend Teddy Riley writes in the Foreword, "This book YOUNG, RICH, AND DANGEROUS is truly a gift. Only someone like Jermaine, who knows it because he lives it, is in a position to deliver such necessary and relevant insights."

RMD Entertainment Group, Announces Plans to Market Ringtones Direct to the Consumer

Marketing Strategy Will Increase Revenues While Allowing Prime Positioning and Control of Future Releases

PHILADELPHIA, PA--(Marketwire - September 13, 2007) - RMD ENTERTAINMENT GROUP, INC. (PINKSHEETS: RMDM), a Music and Entertainment Company focused on the development and marketing of "Urban Media Content" worldwide, today announced plans to market ringtones direct to the consumer. RMD recognizes the opportunity and will take advantage of this high growth sector in the music industry. By implementing this marketing strategy RMD will increase revenues and bottom line earnings while allowing prime positioning for the Company's artists with greater control of their future releases.

Market analysis of the music industry, as it pertains to the overall revenue generated, indicates that ringtone sales accounts for 30% of the market over the past six months. Ringtones are typically priced between $2.99 and $3.99 retail in North America and industry sales are expected to approach one billion dollars by the end of 2007 worldwide. Ringtone purchases are considered the ultimate emotional buy in music media as they are easily billed, downloaded and stored on devices such as PDAs, and cell phones. Rap stars such as Mims are now bragging about going platinum on ringtones instead of CDs which are rapidly becoming the format of the past with the advent of download retailers such as iTunes, Napster, YouTube, Rhapsody, etc. RMD will continue to use these retailers so as to not give up any market share.

Mr. Giorgio Costonis, Chief Executive Officer of RMD Entertainment Group, stated, "I looked at this segment of the music industry carefully over the past year and I believe as a record label it made good business sense to capitalize on a market with such high growth." Mr. Costonis continues by stating, "If we are successful in this direct sales marketing strategy of our music products and artists such as Roc Monee, RMD will become a vendor of choice for ringtones while keeping a strong distribution channel for our catalogue."

Redesigned dropmagazine.com Boasts Improved Functionality, Better Aesthetics, and New Content Sections

September 11, 2007
New York, NY – This month, startup online hip hop magazine, dropmagazine.com , launched a completely redesigned site with expanded features sections and a brand new aesthetic interface. These new features enhance the online media outlet that already provides an innovative approach to hip hop culture and lifestyle related articles, news, artist interviews, album reviews, editorials, and multimedia.

One exciting new feature is a digital media section updated weekly with the web's best hip hop tracks and online videos. In this section, users can find interviews ranging in content from talks with performing artists from the sold out Rock the Bells Tour to a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Keith Murray's "Nobody Do It Better" video.

The upgraded site confirms dropmagazine.com's commitment to user interaction with commenting features that allow for reader feedback on every aspect, from news to videos. Also, it connects with other sites by giving users the opportunity to rate articles on digg.com or add them to their del.icio.us accounts.

dropmagazine.com instituted these additions with the belief that traditional hip hop media outlets have alienated not only fans of the genre, but also many potential fans by merely reinforcing a few niche markets within hip hop culture. One of the site's goals is to create a hip hop community in which high quality user-generated content is combined with professional journalism; by doing so, it intends to cover an extensive number of topics with a well-rounded perspective. In addition, dropmagazine.com hosts a diverse articles section covering topics ranging from the New York City Subway Series to America's first potential Black President and interviews with the likes of Guru, Slum Village, and 9th Wonder.

In less than a year, dropmagazine.com has been recognized for its distinguished content and appeal. Cedric Muhammad, the founder and CEO of CM Cap ( cmcap.com) and The Black Coffee Channel ( http://www.blackcoffeechannel.com/), the publisher of BlackElectorate.com and the former manager of Wu-Tang Clan, has said the following about the young site," dropmagazine.com represents that entrepreneurial spirit which is the source and foundation for hip hop culture, and its survival and growth.  They bring a truly unique perspective to hip hop journalism. dropmagazine.com's time has come and I wish them the best."

With these new upgrades, dropmagazine.com has taken a giant step in furthering its unwavering dedication to becoming the most comprehensive hip hop community and to providing the highest quality hip hop content on the internet.  Future plans include partnering with several hip hop outlets to expand additional sections on both a regional and national level.

BRINGING PEACE BACK TO WEST OAKLAND

Mayor Dellums' Office, Youth UpRising, the Oakland Police, Parks &
Recreation, Fire, and Human Services Departments partner with The Ella
Baker Center, Leadership Excellence, employers, labor unions and
service providers to promote peace in West Oakland.

F.A.S.T. Community Event
Saturday, September 15, 2007
2:00PM to 7:00PM
deFremery Park (18th & Adeline)

Oakland- F.A.S.T. (For A Safe Town), an old-fashioned community block
party, will bring out West Oakland residents of all ages for a day of
fun, access to important services and job opportunities, and
solidarity for peace.  Through blending festivities and access to
critical supports, F.A.S.T. rightfully places public safety within its
broader community transformation context.

This completely FREE event will be organized into 5 areas, each
featuring an exciting array of attractions, including a BBQ Zone,
Employment Zone, Carnival Zone, Kiddy Fun Zone, Sports Zone, and
Entertainment Zone. Within the Employment Zone, the Oakland Police,
Fire, and other City Departments will be joined by private employers
and Labor Unions in recruiting Oakland residents for Oakland jobs.
Additionally, a Job Readiness booth will connect attendees to
employment assistance following the event.

As part of Mayor Dellums' multi-dimensional approach to public safety,
this event features hands-on prevention and intervention programs
working in partnership with traditional public safety agencies.
Through F.A.S.T., Mayor Dellums, a native of West Oakland, is
encouraging a higher collaboration between community members; as he
stated at a recent public safety meeting, "When neighbors know each
other, neighborhoods are safer."

The Oakland Police Department (OPD) is a full partner in F.A.S.T.,
exhibiting a commitment to improve its standing within communities
like West Oakland and among youth most likely to be impacted by
violence. OPD sees this as a unique opportunity to do community
policing in tandem with prevention and intervention efforts, while
recruiting potential officers from West Oakland. The OPD helicopter
and lowrider patrol car will serve as interactive, fun ways to engage
young people. However, the highlights of the day will be numerous
brave commanders taking turns in the dunk tank and officers
participating in the 3-on-3 OPD vs. Youth basketball tournament.

The Oakland Fire Department (OFD), another key sponsor, will promote
fire prevention and emergency preparedness. In honor of National
Disaster Preparedness Month, OFD will sign attendees up for Citizens
of Oakland Respond to Emergencies (CORE), its free training program
which builds self-reliance and helps neighborhoods establish response
teams. Additionally, with a fire truck on location, OFD will engage
youth with interactive tours and its Stop-Drop-Roll training.

Oakland Parks & Recreation (OPR), the event host, will provide a range
of exciting recreational activities. More importantly, in a formal
Peace Pole Ceremony, OPR will declare deFermery Park, a "Drug Free
Zone" and re-dedicate it as a safe neighborhood space.

Youth UpRising (YU) is the overall event producer, lending both its
innovative approaches to engaging high-risk youth and its violence
prevention expertise. An expansion of YU's annual Hotter Than July
Block Party, F.A.S.T., will bring out West Oakland representatives
Councilwoman Nadel and Supervisor Carson. YU is also leveraging its
relationship with Too $hort, an Oakland native and six time
consecutive platinum selling rap legend -- for him to promote a strong
public safety message and perform his poignant song "The Ghetto."

The Ella Baker Center for Human Rights (Silence The Violence Campaign)
will host a Memorial Altar and lead the event's Peace Pledge Drive,
the signing of which grants attendees free access to everything
F.A.S.T. offers.  Leadership Excellence will co-host the Employment
Zone with YU. Oakland Department of Human Service will lend staffing
support, having invited its Measure Y service providers.

F.A.S.T., an event of Youth UpRising's Rappers+OPD for a Violence Free
Oakland, is sponsored by Mayor Dellums' Office, the Oakland Police,
Parks & Recreation, Fire and Human Services Departments, Oakland
Councilwoman Nancy Nadel, and Alameda County Supervisor Keith Carson,
with support from the Ella Baker Center, and Leadership Excellence.

The company services clients in a wide range of cities, states, and countries. Including but not limited to Jamaica W.I, New York, Boston MA, Atlanta GA, and Miami and Ft. Lauderdale Florida.

PrGirlAngel represents reggae artist, hip-hop artist, and entrepreneurs, as well as production companies, authors, and real estate companies.
