Breaking new grounds on and off the mic: Double Crossa spreads holiday cheer through the FEASTivities

(Savannah, GA) - December 28, 2007 – While everyone is scurrying to get their Christmas shopping finished by Christmas Eve, but the riveting, real-life storytellers of Double Crossa Records made certain that those less fortunate were also able to share in the Christmas cheer. Eight families in their hometown of Savannah benefited from the generous hearts of Macadon, Punch and Rosco. According to Macadon, there was never a question if the group was willing to share their blessings by blessing others.

The city of Savannah greets you with warmth and southern hospitality: Spanish Moss sways from the oak trees; headquarters to the Girl Scouts of America; historical parks; beautiful mansions and the list goes on. Yet, its poverty rate in the African American community is higher than any other race.

"Each of us in the group has faced the struggle at some point in our lives," explains Rosco. Punch and Rosco were raised by their moms, while Macadon was raised by his grand-aunt, until the age of 16, when he moved out on his own. "94.1 The Beat's website allowed you to choose what you wanted to donate to a family's dinner table or choose from one, two, four or eight families. We're from here; we see it everyday…so we went for the max," Rosco says proudly.

Additionally, households headed by single mothers have increased as well. Punch shakes his head as he reminisces of the days when his mother was raising him by herself. "The money we spend on one pair of tennis shoes so we can look right when we step out, we were able to put food on tables. We're raising the bar, setting examples for the hip hop community to follow suit and suit up. People out here robbing just to put food on their family's table. This was one of our chances to ease the worries of EIGHT families…at least for a lil' while."

All three members of DCR agree that there's more to the rap world than just being charismatic lyricists and headbussa (r.i.p) beat makers. "We want C-port to know there's more to us. We've got a different movement going on: we're investing in human capitalism and becoming philanthropist," states Macadon.

Q: What's the next hottest thing out the frying pan? A: Double Crossa Records. Through ambition, versatility and loyalty, Double Crossa Records, an independent label was formed by three fuse-blowing artists, hailing the streets of Savannah, Georgia. Their debut CD, "Ghetto Gospel: Unleash the Real, Vol. I" will be released during the first quarter of 2008. Stay tuned and keep your ear to the ground about Double Crossa Records at www.myspace.com/doublecrossarecords.

Hip Hop Artists Celtic & Moniz Release the Album Independence Day as a Free Online Download

12-25-2007

Fort Lauderdale, FL

Underground Hip Hop artists Celtic and Moniz release Independence Day as a free online download for the New Year. Both artists made a decision to release the album online for free following a small group of other artists such as Price and Radiohead.

Independence Day is an underground hip hop album by Celtic featuring Moniz. Celtic is an underground MC in the Hip Hop game and Moniz, who is a Hip Hop producer, produced roughly 80 percent of the tracks on the album.

Both artists decided to skip label distribution this time around and post the album out on the Internet at www.mcceltic.com as a free download to fans.

Celtic commented, "We just don't see where it makes sense to go through all the work of the distribution system these days when most of the time your album gets shelved on the back table of a boardroom and never receives the distribution or promotion it deserves. We decided to take matters into our own hands this time".

Both artists are asking fans to make a small donation if they do download the album. Fans can donate anything from 1 cent to 20 dollars. Moniz says, "It's whatever they think the album is worth to them".

Independence Day, the new album by Celtic Featuring Moniz, can be downloaded at http://www.mcceltic.com and is freely distributable by fans alike. The album was released on Christmas Day as a Christmas present to the artists' fans.

For further information, you can contact Celtic directly at smccarthy945@gmail.com or 561-306-9545. Celtic can also be reached at www.mcceltic.com.

"Throughout my life, I have always lived through adversity. I'm a survivor. You don't understand the mental power that I have." While I'm locked up, I'm going to be writing lyrics, working on the script for my second feature film, Dope, and finish writing an autobiography of my life which will be finished by the time I'm released. My mind is going to be focused and I'll have time to think and map out my entire plan. The experience will make me a tougher, stronger person. I'm gonna work on getting out faster, so I can get back to doing what I do best. When I get home, it's gonna be on!"

The new album released by Voxonic Music will be Prodigy's second official solo album. H.N.I.C. Part 2returns "P" to the more edgy real life street tales that have been Mobb Deep's signature for nearly a decade. Alchemist and Havoc will produce a bulk of the album along with several other hot up-n-coming producers.

"I'll be the first hip hop artist to release a record that's converted into foreign languages using the Voxonic voice conversion technology. The technology they use is a great opportunity for me to keep supplying my fans around the world with music to hold them down while I'm away," states Prodigy. "I want to thank Fred and Arie Deutsch of Voxonic for believing in me and recognizing the wide appeal my music carries." Arie Deutsch, President of Voxonic Music and Voxonic, Inc. states "Voxonic is excited to work with an artist the caliber of Prodigy. Lodestar Entertainment Signs with William Morris Agency to Rep Feature Film Life is Hot in Cracktown

Lodestar Entertainment announced that it has signed with William Morris Independent- a division of the William Morris Agency. William Morris Independent will represent the film Life is Hot in Cracktown.

(Beverly Hills, CA, December 26, 2007)- Co-Head of William Morris Independent Cassian Elwes will be partnering with Lodestar Entertainment producers Ten Travis, Bill Fisch and Larry Rattner on the independent feature film Life is Hot in Cracktown.

Life is Hot in Cracktown's cast includes Brandon Routh, Shannyn Sossamon, Lara Flynn Boyle, Kerry Washington and RZA of Wu-Tang Clan. The film was directed by Buddy Giovinazzo and is based on his novel by the same name.

Life is Hot it Cracktown delves into the infiltration of crack cocaine in urban America and shows the gritty realities of street life, as well as the struggling, proud people who attempt to survive them everyday.

Highlighting four stories that come together in a climax of violence, depravity and salvation, Giovinazzo's Life is Hot in Cracktown may elevate itself to the ranks of Robert Altman's Short Cuts and Paul Haggis' Crash. The film captures a realistic depiction of a modern day social epidemic- drug use and poverty.

"We are anxious to get Life is Hot in Cracktown out into the public. We are very excited about what the public response will be when they see the caliber of actors that we've collaborated with to create this film. It is an emotional story filled with actors who are going against their known character types," states producer Ten Travis.

Real Talk For When There's Nowhere To Go But Up

BLACK PAIN

It Just Looks Like We're Not Hurting

By Terrie M. Williams

"As a young African-American male, you have to have your war face on at all times. It's all about maintaining your swagger. Some people like to run away from the uncut truth, but BLACK PAIN is no slouch. It boldly confronts the reality of our pain head on, flowing like hot lyrics over the perfect beat."

—Sean Combs

"We've never had a book this personal to read that defines our feelings and helps us understand what to do to heal ourselves. I'm proud of Terrie for writing BLACK PAIN so that everyone will finally recognize depression. As she puts it, "what it looks like, what it sounds and what it feels like."

—Mary J. Blige

Terrie Williams dares you to take off your game face! As a high-powered public relations pro, Terrie has worked with some of the biggest names out there, but all the success and power and access didn't spare her from profound emotional pain. And her own pain was too often mirrored in the lives of the hip hop and R&B artists, the producers, the dancers, and the music executives around her.

In her groundbreaking new book, BLACK PAIN: It Just Looks Like We're Not Hurting (Scribner; January 8, 2008; $24),Terrie takes off the mask. She peels away the game face so many of us wear, and shows us that we don't have to hide our pain in shame. From celebrities like Mary J. Blige, DMX and Mike Tyson, Terrie talks to folks who know what it's like to struggle to keep it together day after day, when inside they feel like they're dying.

Before BLACK PAIN, we focused only on the symptoms of our pain: The rages, the arrests, the seesaw highs and lows. We saw every rapper on MTV Cribs build a shrine to Al Pacino's Scarface – a man so devastated inside that even having everything isn't close to enough. But worst of all, we've seen the murders, the senseless deaths, and the suicide-by-prison of our best and brightest. Our men are soldiers in an emotional war no one has named, and they are all too often fodder. They're suffering and dying on the front lines because no one has dared to name their pain.

It's time to open the steel door on our suffering and help each other heal. BLACK PAIN is a work no one in the entertainment industry should miss! No other book has looked so thoughtfully at how we as Black folks suffer emotionally, or in such accessible language. No other book has laid out a community crisis with such sensitivity, such empathy and such clear direction to solutions. BLACK PAIN doesn't just talk about depression – it tells you what depression looks, sounds and feels like. The next time you see a headline screaming that a favorite recording artist has been sent to rehab, arrested, or worse…—you'll see behind the mask of success to understand the pain that drives the self-destruction.

Terrie Williams is a woman on fire, and the fuel that keeps that fire raging is the epidemic of unacknowledged emotional pain in Black America. Depression is a catchword in the mainstream media, but among Black folks it might as well be "the D-word"—the shameful thing nobody talks about, even as it's killing us. But Terrie Williams is not afraid to talk about what "the blues" is doing to us and our loved ones— she's determined to get us all talking about it, and she will not rest until we can freely speak our pain without shame, and get to healing it! BLACK PAIN: It Just Looks Like We're Not Hurting is her opening shot in that battle. Don't miss it!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

A social worker by training, Terrie Williams launched the public relations firm, The Terrie Williams Agency, in 1988. The company quickly became one of the most successful PR firms in America, representing top names in entertainment, sports, business and politics such as Miles Davis, Johnnie Cochran, Stephen King, Eddie Murphy, HBO, and Time Warner. After surviving a profound depression, Terrie chronicled her struggle to regain her health in Essence magazine and the feedback was staggering. She continues her work with the agency and she also created the Stay Strong Foundation, which reaches out to anyone of any age suffering from mental illness. Terrie has a BA from Brandeis University and a master's degree in social work from Columbia University. She has one grown son and lives in New York City.

Kenwood Vineyards Lounge to Debut at 40/40 Club Las Vegas

KENWOOD (SONOMA VALLEY), Calif., Dec. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Kenwood Vineyards is set to light up Las Vegas on December 30, 2007, when hip-hop mogul Jay-Z's 40/40 Club opens at The Palazzo, the spectacular new world-class resort on the Las Vegas Strip. Kenwood Vineyards will sponsor the star-studded Grand Opening gala at 40/40 Club Las Vegas that evening, an event that includes the debut of the winery's namesake VIP room at the Club -- the Kenwood Vineyards Lounge.

The new $20 million 40/40 Club Las Vegas is the third location of Jay-Z's renowned upscale sports bar and lounge, following in the footsteps of his highly successful 40/40 Clubs in New York and Atlantic City. The multi-level venue features 85 plasma screen televisions, five bars serving "top-shelf" wines and libations, and leather couch seating for ultimate sports enjoyment, plus a luxurious dining area offering all-American fare with a Latin accent and five VIP rooms -- including the Kenwood Vineyards Lounge -- for private events.

The Kenwood Vineyards-sponsored 40/40 Club Las Vegas Grand Opening gala will be an opulent affair. A throng of "A-List" celebrities will walk the red carpet in front of fans and the press before heading inside for an evening to include a welcome and ceremonial ribbon-cutting by Jay-Z, dancing to live celebrity DJs and a midnight toast. A one-hour television special, "Live on the Red Carpet at the 40/40 Club Las Vegas Grand Opening," is scheduled to air on "Extra" and "E!".

The Kenwood Vineyards Lounge promises to be the most popular VIP room at 40/40 Club Las Vegas. Literally a "club within a club," the intimate Kenwood Vineyards Lounge -- which can accommodate only 70 guests -- blends wine country accents with leather wrap around couches, hardwood floors, wood paneled walls, a sunken living room and an 8-foot pool table. This private space also is equipped with two 65-inch plasma screen televisions, an independent sound system, wireless internet access, Xbox, Playstation, chess boards and a complementary Ms. Pacman arcade game. One of the Kenwood Vineyard Lounge's most distinctive amenities is a private outdoor terrace, with views of the famed Las Vegas Strip and the Las Vegas fireworks. Befitting a private, "by reservation only" lounge, VIP servers assigned exclusively to the Kenwood Vineyards Lounge will take care of guests' food and beverage needs. A superb selection of premium Kenwood Vineyards Sonoma County wines will be available in the Kenwood Vineyards Lounge by the glass and by the bottle.

The new club is located in The Palazzo, a 50-floor all-suites hotel-casino-resort that takes Las Vegas luxury, sophistication and contemporary chic to new heights. Situated adjacent to The Venetian and across the street from the Wynn Las Vegas, the Palazzo is situated at the center of Las Vegas excitement. The Palazzo is scheduled to open on December 20, 2007.

Established in 1970 in the Sonoma Valley, Kenwood Vineyards produces premium wines that showcase Sonoma County's world class vineyards.

Celebrate responsibly.

Driven by Music, MTV.com, VH1.com and CMT.com Deliver 1.2 Billion Video Streams in 2007

Women Ruled, Country Crossed Over and VMA Artists Rocked in MTV Networks Music Group's Top 30 Most-Streamed Music Videos of 2007

NEW YORK, Dec. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Driven by music, MTV.com, VH1.com and CMT.com video streams topped more than 1.2 billion in 2007, 30 percent more than 2006 -- an all-time record for the collective brands within MTV Networks' Music Group, which now attracts nearly 30 million unique visitors every month. Music videos accounted for nearly half of the streams, as viewers sought out their favorite artists and discovered new ones from a cross-section of genres, including pop and hip hop, country and rock. Music videos also drove MTV Mobile, VH1 Mobile and CMT Mobile into triple-digit growth in 2007. In fact, music videos accounted for every single one of the top 10 most-streamed videos on the three services.

"Music was at the core of everything we did in 2007," said Van Toffler, President of MTV Networks' Music Group. "And, once again, MTV, VH1 and CMT produced the year's most memorable events in music."

In the first-ever ranking of the 30 most-popular music videos streamed on MTV.com, VH1.com and CMT.com, women ruled, country crossed over and VMA artists tore it up in 2007. Female acts dominated the year-end chart, accounting for eight of the Top 10 songs. Britney Spears took the trophy for the most-streamed video with her live performance of "Gimme More" during the 2007 Video Music Awards. Avril Lavigne came in second with "Girlfriend" and Rihanna, another VMA performer, came in third with "Umbrella." Fergie placed three singles in the Top 10 alone -- "Glamorous" (#4), "Big Girls Don't Cry" (#5) and "Fergalicious" (#7) -- and was the artist with the most appearances on the chart.

New artists like Paramore -- a band that gained notoriety through MTV's 52/52 initiative -- stormed this year's chart with "Misery Business" at #22. The Plain White T's, which earned the "Breaking Woodie" at the 2006 mtvU Woodie Awards, lived up to the their expectations in 2007, claiming the #27 spot with their smash "Hey There Delilah." And throughout the year, VH1's "You Oughta Know" franchise made artists such as Feist and Colbie Caillat household names.

The year's biggest crossover hit belonged to Carrie Underwood, a fixture on CMT. Her signature smash, "Before He Cheats," landed at #15.

MTV's VMAs, VH1's Hip Hop Honors and CMT's Music Awards inspired viewers to go online and see their favorite artists. At MTV's VMA's Chris Brown solidified his place in music with Michael Jackson-esque moves. VH1's Hip Hop Honors, the most important event in the hip-hop community, this year celebrated the works of Snoop Dogg, WHODINI, Missy Elliot and others. And CMT's Music Awards saw Sugarland and Bon Jovi deliver stirring performances.

On Mobile

Soulja Boy's "Crank Dat (Soulja Boy)" was the most-streamed video on both MTV Mobile and VH1 Mobile. Sugarland's "Stay," which the group performed live during the CMT Music Awards, clinched the top spot on CMT Mobile. MTV Mobile streams grew 90 percent over 2006, while VH1 streams grew by 100 percent and CMT recorded a 252 percent surge.

Curated music programming also performed well. MTV Mobile's most-viewed show content was the original made-for-mobile series, Dances From the Hood. VH1 launched "Pop Up Mobile to Go," a made-for-mobile version of the hugely popular VH1 series, featuring music videos from Janet Jackson, the Beastie Boys, Rihanna, Black Eyed Peas and Nelly. And MTV Tr3s Mobile, introduced this year, has grown 65 percent every month since March, making it the fastest- growing mobile brand ever in the MTVN portfolio.

Throughout the year, MTV, VH1 and CMT also introduced new experiences to drive deeper engagement with music.

-- At MTV.com, viewers used the new Video Remixer to create more than
8,200 remixes of Britney Spears' latest single, "Piece of Me."
Throughout the year, viewers could also remix videos from Kelly
Clarkson, Common, Nelly Furtado and Paramore.

-- MTVN in 2007 also was the first media/entertainment company to begin
threading lyrics throughout its programming on all platforms,
beginning with MTV.com. Viewers who search for lyrics on MTV.com,
VH1.com, or CMT.com will get the full lyrics, as well as links to
music videos, links to purchase the song, and comprehensive artist
information, such as bios and discographies.

-- VH1Classic.com, which re-launched in May with an on-demand library of
thousands of classic music videos, has seen time spent surge by 30
percent. VH1Classic.com was just one of a dozen new vertical Web sites
and blogs launched by the Music Group in 2007.

Here are the top 30 most-streamed videos across MTVN Music Group's MTV.com, VH1.com and CMT.com.

What Do Anna Nicole Smith and Jerry Falwell Have in Common . . . at Year-end?

Online Guest Books for both attracted thousands of remembrances, putting them on Legacy.com's Top 25 Most-Eulogized People Online for 2007

EVANSTON, Ill., Dec. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Former Playboy playmate and E! reality TV star Anna Nicole Smith and televangelist and Moral Majority founder Jerry Falwell had little in common in life, but they share a distinction in death.

Ditto for Washington Redskins football player Sean Taylor and former first lady Lady Bird Johnson.

Smith, Falwell, Taylor and Johnson, who all died in 2007, attracted so many individual remembrances and condolences in their online Guest Books on memorialization Web site Legacy.com (http://www.legacy.com/) that they made the site's list "2007's Top 25 Most-Eulogized People Online."

The victims of the April 16, 2007, shootings at Virginia Polytechnic Institute top the 2007 list; almost 43,000 condolences and remembrances have been offered (through Dec. 11) in the Legacy.com Guest Book for the 28 students and four faculty members gunned down by a troubled student. Second on the list is John Winter, a popular Orlando TV station meteorologist, who committed suicide.

"One of the most striking aspects of the lists is that they blend the slightly gossipy appeal of guest books for celebrities with the very personal, almost religious and familial aspect of remembering more ordinary people," said Professor Toby Miller, chair of media and cultural studies at the University of California, Riverside, who reviewed the lists at the request of Legacy.com. "The Guest Books commemorate the famous, but also make renowned the suffering of those who aren't famous."

Labeled the "granddaddy" of online obituary and memorialization sites by MarketWatch, Legacy.com hosts obituaries and memorials for more than 60 percent of the people who die in the United States and attracts more than 10 million unique visitors each month.

The Web site has largely been responsible for popularizing the online Guest Book, taking it from a novelty a few years ago to a widely accepted way to remember loved ones and offer condolences to families. The site today fields more than 23,000 Guest Book entries daily -- or one every 2.5 seconds -- for ordinary people remembered by families and friends, celebrities, pro sports stars and individuals thrust into the limelight by the circumstances of their deaths.

All of the more than 20 million Guest Book entries on Legacy.com have been reviewed for appropriate content before being posted online, using a process that combines artificial intelligence and editorial review.

Below are Legacy.com's 2007 Top 25 Most Eulogized People Online and All-Time Top 25 Most Eulogized People Online, based on number of entries through Dec. 11, 2007. All of these Guest Books are open and continue to accept entries from anyone who would like to remember the individuals. Black Wall Street's Head Producer, Nu Jerzey Devil, Sets to Take Over 2008

December 2007

Miami, FL December 21, 2007 -- The new year looks bright for west coast hip hop led by non other than The Game's camp, Black Wall Street. The head producer of Black Wall Street, Nu Jerzey Devil is set to make 2008 a year to remember. Anthony Torres aka "Nu Jerzey Devil" is currently in the studio working on albums for Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, The Game, and also a solo project.

Early 2008 will feature The Black Wall Street Compilation album that is sure to bring west coast hip hop back to the forefront of rap. With production for the heavily anticipated album from The Game and an eager freshman release from the prince of the west coast, Juice, Nu Jerzey Devil seems to have his hands full.

Nu Jerzey Devil is also currently finishing up the final touches to his new mixtape, Soundz From Tha Devil Pt. 3 featuring Lil Wayne, Fat Joe, The Game, Hell Rell, Juice, Jay Rock and Clyde Carson and will drop January 10th – the same day as his birthday.

Nu Jerzey Devil Bio:

Nu Jerzey Devil was born Anthony Torres in the South Bronx borough of New York City on January 10th. The Black Wall Street head producer and his family lived on a street called Cedar Avenue, later in his life he would move to Compton, California on Cedar Block where his arrangement with Black Wall Street began.

At the early age of four his mother and six siblings moved to their new hometown of New Jersey. The youngest of the children, Torres emulated his older brothers every move and soon caught on to their influences in hip hop.

At the age of seven Nu Jerzey Devil began rapping and by 18 he traded a friend a .45 caliber gun for DJ equipment. Jerzey soon bought himself a Dr. Rhythum beat machine and a Yamaha DJX keyboard and started his own production.

Within two years Jerzey was contacted by Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins of Darkchild Productions. Rodney was quickly impressed and took Jerzey with him to Miami for a few meetings. Upon arriving back he immediately joined the Darkchild team and scored and laced the soundtrack for the 2003 Jessica Alba film Honey (Universal Pictures). From there the pair moved to Los Angeles and worked on My Baby's Daddy (Miramax Films) starring Anthony Anderson, Eddie Griffith and Method Man.

After linking up with Phat Rat, another member of the Darkchild team, Nu Jerzey Devil was introduced to the Dr. Dre protégé, The Game. After hitting the studio they recorded "The Black Wall Street Anthem" – most notable on The Black Wall Street's intro on their official webpage. The chemistry bubbled as the two continued recording – while in the meantime The Game was in the works with creating The Black Wall Street label. With no hesitation, Nu Jerzey Devil was the first to sign to the newly founded label.

Nu Jerzey Devil continues to produce and record with The Game along with the rest of Black Wall Street. In the meantime he continues to hit the mixtape circuit and plans to drop a solo album summer of 2008.

Larry Craig, Britney Spears Among Nine Naughtiest Americans of 2007 as Picked by TheNaughtyAmerican.com, the News Organization Specializing in all Things Naughty

SAN DIEGO, Dec. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Santa Claus rewards those who are nice, but it's up to TheNaughtyAmerican.com (TNA) to honor the year's naughtiest Americans.

The world's only news organization focused solely on naughty news has just released its annual Naughty Nine, which celebrates the year's most naughty Americans.

"This year was a truly watershed year for naughtiness," TNA editor David Moye said. "Besides usual naughty suspects like Britney Spears or Barry Bonds, there were toe-tapping senators and diaper-wearing astronauts who practically demanded by their actions to be on the list."

The complete list of 2007's Naughtiest Americans

  1. Idaho Senator Larry Craig
  2. New England Patriots Coach Bill Belichick
  3. Singer Britney Spears
  4. Quarterback Michael Vick
  5. Shock jock Don Imus
  6. Astronaut Lisa Nowak
  7. Baseball slugger Barry Bonds
  8. Hip-hop performers Foxy Brown, C-Murder, Clifford "T.I." Harris Jr.,
Kid Rock, Da Brat and Remy Ma.
  9. The Federal Emergency Management Agency

Although some people might think making a naughty list is a bad thing, Moye believes it's the opposite.

"We celebrate naughtiness," he emphasized. "Naughtiness is an inherent American trait, dating back to the founding fathers. What is naughtier than telling your king: 'Stuff it. We're starting a new country.'?"

TheNaughtyAmerican.com, which started publication in August 2007, is a mainstream news Web site presented by NaughtyAmerica.com, one of America's most popular adult entertainment companies.

"An adult entertainment company funding a mainstream news site is pretty naughty in and of itself," Moye said. "However, in the interest of journalistic objectivity, we disqualified ourselves from the list."

For the complete list, check out TheNaughtyAmerican.com. In addition, TNA editors are available for media interviews.

"LYRICAL ROULETTE" SEASON ONE "WHO WILL IT BE?"

Bare witness to Hip-Hop's New Online Reality Show that caters to Unsigned and Independent artists.  Lyrical Roulette is an uncut look into the transformation of becoming a complete emcee and producer.   The unscripted thirteen (13) Episode television pilot is filmed in HD (High-Definition) and is hosted by Du "DoItAll" Kelly of the Multi-Platinum selling Hip-Hop Group (Lords of the Underground).  DoItAll sifts out the wannabes and introduces to the Hip-Hop industry a complete emcee. The crowned emcee will receive a development deal courtesy of Lord Gang Worldwide; that consists of studio time, production, promotion, press and business management assistance. While other reality shows have rappers walking through NYC for a deal, we threw unsigned rappers into various competitions from Battling to Freestyling on the spot. The series will also have guest appearances by notable Hip-Hop personalities. Each episode will also feature an unsigned producer who will use beats from their respective beat catalog during the competition.

Beatmakers and Rappers were hand picked for Lyrical Roulette Season One.  Hip-Hop's new online reality series will be aired on Myspace TV, Youtube and Sandbox TV and packaged/ distributed as a DVD on a (per season basis) via established distribution channels.  Power Street Talk DVD will film Lyrical Roulette at Alkatraxx Studios in Elizabeth, NJ among various other locations. This pilot will also be presented to major networks and production houses.

Aspiring hungry rappers and beatmakers throughout the northeast auditioned for Lyrical Roulette and were narrowed down to six (6) beatmakers and eight (8) rappers.  In each episode, Rappers will go head to head in competitions from Freestyling, Hip-Hop Knowledge, Rap and Beat Battling and most importantly creating songs.  Beatmakers will supply beats as the rappers Freestyle, Battle and create songs with notable Hip-Hop recording artists.  All songs recorded will be on the LYRICAL ROULETTE SEASON 1 THEE ALBUM.  Lyrical Roulette takes an in-depth look at "aspiring rappers" as they acquire skills needed to transform themselves into legitimate emcees.  It also lets the viewers into the world of Hip-Hop before the platinum sales, cars, jewelry and limelight.  Our contestants are of all make-ups and backgrounds from single fathers to balancing two and three jobs.  We hope to bring their clouded illusion of waiting to become a rapper in a dose of reality.

"New Years Eve Ball 2008" in San Francisco Featuring Goapele & Hosted by Mos Def

December 20, 2007

Goapele, the Bay Area's princess and pioneer of world soul music continues to receive rave reviews for her ingeniously raw live performances across the country alongside her electrifying instrumentalists "The Heat," and will bring her seductively galvanizing vocals back home for the 'Sneakers Required New Year's Eve Ball 2008' at La Terra in San Francisco, featuring live sets with DJ Namane and producer Mike Tiger, hosted by the multi-talented Rapper, Activist and Thespian Mos Def who recently collaborated in the studio with the vintage dressed diva on the reflective love song "Different"

***

December 20, 2007 – Oakland, California – Goapele possesses one of the most alluring and powerful voices within the soul genre, injecting poignant words with both passion and substance. In an industry that advocates monotony, Goapele is an autonomist - a poster girl for individualism and perhaps because of her cultural heritage, a non-conformist. For a woman whose name means 'to go forward' in Setswana, the South African language of her grandmother, Goapele lives her name. The Oakland, California-based songstress broke onto the Bay Area music scene with the ethereal Even Closer (Skyblaze Records) an indie masterpiece which went on to sell an unprecedented number of units, largely based on the success of the smash hit single "Closer." The album's mix of soulful grooves and thought-provoking lyrics introduced the world to a multi-faceted artist and songwriter, known as much for her social and political activism as for her lush romantic ballads.  The poised chanteuse delivered a testimony-driven, emotionally aching yet uplifting and candidly charged classic cuts to soul music junkies who feigned for organic gutbucket vocals and raw bass lines. Goapele brilliantly experimented with skillful compositions and heart wrenching harmonies while the songs showcased the singer/songwriter's impeccable ability to mix classic soul with rhythm and blues along with new-age funk, dripping with sensuality, instantly garnering her respect for skillfully uniting hip-hop, jazz, R&B and melodic soul. Critics from every major media outlet hailed the songstress as the "next" musical icon and heralded Even Closer as an album ahead of its time. The exquisite dread headed beauty went on to grace the covers of Bay Area's premier San Francisco Magazine "Best of the Bay Area" issue and SF Bay Guardian's end of the year "Music" issue, was named #5 artist to watch in Rolling Stone, received the first ever Ella Baker "Human Rights Cultural Hero Award" Award, made the countdown on MTV's "Top Ten Artists To Watch" and collaborated with ALDO Shoes' huge advertisement campaign in their fight against HIV/AIDS featuring renowned artists Avril Lavigne, Ludacris, Dave Navarro, Charlize Therron, Eve, Rosario Dawson, Eva Mendes, Bow Wow and Kelly Rowland.

The Bay Area based ingénue who was equally influenced by Stevie Wonder, Etta James, Nina Simone, Billie Holiday, Aretha Franklin, Bob Marley and Portishead as she was by Miriam Makeba, Zulu Spears and Hugh Masekela brings a well-needed enigmatic presence to a mundane industry that is devoid of innovative magic and fascination, but thick with semblance. Her signature of throaty moans and nostalgic lyrical poetry evoke all things old yet somehow manages to be refreshingly new. While she garnered the support of music critics and fans, a host of fellow musicians and celebrities--including The Roots, Rosario Dawson, Shaquille O'Neal, Kanye West, Prince and Stevie Wonder--came under the spell of her music, style and sensibility and called her in various words "The next big artist to watch."  Erykah Badu voted Even Closer as the most creative and innovative albums for the 2003 ShortList Music Project and exclaimed, "Goapele you Shine! I love you. I'm pleased that you demonstrate True Jedi, and the music is beautiful too." Next Goapele brought an infusion of fresh energy and a classic, yet new sound to R&B music with her highly anticipated and groundbreaking sophomore set, Change It All, (Sony Records) and proved that enlightened change could be a positive force in the world of music and beyond. Featuring production work from old friends who set precedents for The Game, E-40, Martin Luther, Sa-Ra, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, Kanye West, Bilal, Pink and Christina Aguillera the result was a collection of love songs and politically/socially inspired songs that remained true to Goapele's firmly planted roots. This coming Spring 2008 Goapele will release an emotively inspiring Live DVD, filmed at the Great American Music Hall, the original historical French restaurant, the inspired symbol of San Francisco's rebirth, the legendary jazz club after World War II and the contemporary favorite nightspot for Bay Area elite which has showcased luminaries such as Duke Ellington, the Grateful Dead and Robin Williams.

After emerging as the Bay Area's "golden child" years before Keyshia Cole made her musical debut the recent introspective mother has taken her serene - yet inspiring - sound to the masses, both stateside and abroad for the past decade. Time and again, the singer wowed sold-out crowds with her emotionally powerful songs, energetic spirit, and luminous shows, receiving rhapsodic reviews from The New York Times, Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Chicago Tribune, San Francisco Chronicle, LA Times, etc. When Goapele opens her mouth to sing on stage, she doesn't just sing, she rips it. She can't hold back. But then again, "moving forward" is what Goapele is all about.

This New Year's Eve the Bay Area is the place to be for the exclusively chic "Sneakers Required New Years Eve Ball 2008," hosted by the gifted lyricist turned Emmy & Golden Globe Award nominated actor Mos Def. The celebratory and philanthropic event is produced bi-annually by the San Francisco based Ankh Marketing in association with Oakland's own Skyblaze Music. To usher in the coming year Goapele will make a special appearance and take the stage alongside DJ Namane and producer Mike Tiger ("Closer") for the hottest event in town. Guests are expected to parade their most fashionable pair of kicks and are additionally urged to bring an extra pair for charitable donations. Whether shoe styles run the gamut of Nike, Addidas or Reebok to Puma, Vans or Converse this extraordinary night will be all about sneaker couture. The venue is La Terra in San Francisco (511 Harrison St) and Doors open at 9pm. Tickets can be purchased by visiting www.going.com/TerraNYE08.  A portion of the event's proceeds will benefit H.E.A.R.

Up and Coming Indie Artist: ISSA

Issa has an undeniable talent. Between producing, songwriting, singing and even rapping at times, Issa still finds the time to give a show to his fans...His songwriting skills are those of the rare story tellers. In fact, he gets this quality from his African background: Senegal. "I'm used to telling stories that make you want to hear more, and hooks that will grab you from the start coz its just the culture am from. My grandma used to have the greatest stories, and I always wanted to hear more... So obviously, I believe that my listeners and fans would probably feel the same once they hear what I have to say lol -)".

Issa currently lives in Portland OR where he is attending College, finishing his business Degree in Marketing and Management. "I am not like other artists out there; I have and wanna keep my head on my shoulders and know the business I'm getting into. My music is my passion, but it is also the product that I sell. So I want to make sure that people know that I mean business, that I know business, and that I look and sound as professional as any star in this industry. That's why I am finishing my studies while pursuing my music career".

On the underground level, Issa has just started to make his marks with his first single "Used to be The One" sitting on top of the R&B charts on soundclick.com under the name I Double S (Short for Issa).
