Underground Hip Hop artists Celtic and Moniz release Independence Day as a free online download for the New Year. Both artists made a decision to release the album online for free following a small group of other artists such as Price and Radiohead.
Independence Day is an underground hip hop album by Celtic featuring Moniz. Celtic is an underground MC in the Hip Hop game and Moniz, who is a Hip Hop producer, produced roughly 80 percent of the tracks on the album.
Both artists decided to skip label distribution this time around and post the album out on the Internet at www.mcceltic.com as a free download to fans.
Celtic commented, "We just don't see where it makes sense to go through all the work of the distribution system these days when most of the time your album gets shelved on the back table of a boardroom and never receives the distribution or promotion it deserves. We decided to take matters into our own hands this time".
Both artists are asking fans to make a small donation if they do download the album. Fans can donate anything from 1 cent to 20 dollars. Moniz says, "It's whatever they think the album is worth to them".
Independence Day, the new album by Celtic Featuring Moniz, can be downloaded at http://www.mcceltic.com and is freely distributable by fans alike. The album was released on Christmas Day as a Christmas present to the artists' fans.
