Smooth Z Productions Entertainment is looking for female DJ’s, 21 years of age and older to partake in an all female DJ Battle. This event will take place during the month of March. We’ve selected March because this is the month of women awareness. March is Violence against women month, Women & HIV/AIDS Awareness month, MS Awareness week and so what better month to bring awareness to women DJ’s. It is so the norm for people to look into the DJ booth of a famous club in New York City and expect a male DJ spinning music. Would there be anything wrong with seeing a female in the booth instead? If you ask some people they may say yes. We believe a woman’s place in music is wherever she can fit in to be seen and heard. There is no hiding more room in the closet for female DJ’s. They are busting out and they are coming with new beat juggling techniques, body tricks, and presenting a sexy on stage presence. They are scratching vinyl, mixing music at speeds and tempos that will make everyone in the club shout out, "GO DJ, GO DJ, GO DJ." Trust your own ears listen to them at our battle.
On March 29, 2008 at Jelani located at 507 Waverly Avenue, Brooklyn, New York 11238 Smooth Z Productions will hold an all female DJ Battle beginning at 7:00 pm. We are in search of female DJ’s who would like to participate in this battle. We are offering three prize winners a chance to take home $300, professional DJ equipment and DJ software by top brand manufactures, a paid tuition certificate to one of New York City’s well known DJ Schools, special publication on our web-sites, media exposure and an opportunity to meet with some heavy hitter DJ’s in the business.
