After making his debut on BET's Ultimate Hustler in 2005
K. Gates is back and Hustling even harder. Gates has just signed
a deal with New Orleans indie label Extreme Entertainment.
Extreme Entertainment is the home of Baby Boy da Prince, who's
single "The Way I Live" went on to sell 3 million ring tones on
Extreme/ Universal Republic Records.
K. Gates's roots run deep throughout New Orleans. He and, Atlantic
recording artist B.G. are both members of the hip hop super group "Eighties Babies."
Gates is featured on numerous mixtape songs with B.G. and the two are
collaborating on new material now. K. Gates new project will be executively
produced by B.G.
K. Gates is also managed by Jimmy Henchmen's, Czar Entertainment.
When asked about his decision to sign with Extreme
Gates responds "I always support New Orleans first, and I saw what they did
with Baby Boy and I said lets get it."
Walter "Bossman" Butler, CEO of Extreme Entertainment
states "EXE is thrilled to have K. Gates on board. His style, flow, and swagger
is all New Orleans and that's what we're about."
K. Gates is set to release his first single "YouTube" in early November.
The song, which encourages people to put there dances on Youtube,
is already a club banger in New Orleans and is picking up steam
in surrounding areas. Also there will be a YouTube video dance
contest where users can submit there dance video to K. Gates for a chance
to be featured in his video.
K. Gates new cd is scheduled for release early 2008.
