Soulja Boy is calling all "Crank Dat" dancers to showcase their moves with him during this year's BET Hip Hop Awards. Lucky fans will have the opportunity to have their video renditions of the "Crank Dat" dance air via video wall and serve as the back drop during Soulja Boy's performance by logging on to www.bet.com/contests. Several winners will be chosen and all entries must be submitted before October 7, 2007.
Little Brother...Isn't that the group that was telling anyone who would listen, "BET wouldn't play (their) video because their music was 'too intelligent'?" "I'm not sure how all that confusion started," says Stephen Hill, Executive Vice President of Music & Talent. "I was surprised when the accusation came up. The Little Brother CD was one of my personal favorites and Phonte's flow is crazy. When it came time to put together ciphers for this year's BET Hip-Hop Awards, I personally requested that he be involved. We're very glad that he accepted. And, of course, he ripped it."
The BET Hip Hop Awards 2007 will take place on Saturday, October 13 at Atlanta's Civic Center, and premiere on the network Wednesday, October 17 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Hosted by Katt Williams— Nelly, Lil' Wayne , Kanye West,T.I., Soulja Boy, Common, Wyclef Jean, Keyshia Cole, Cassidy, Dizzee Rascal, DJ Premiere, Joell Ortiz, Kardinal Offishall, Klashnekoff, Lil' Mama, Phonte, Ras Kass, Flow and Status Quo are scheduled perform/appear.
