EA Mobile Invites Mobile Gamers to ‘Rock and Bowl’ with The Sims

Get Ready to Hit the Lanes in The Sims Bowling and Rock the Dance Floor in The Sims DJ

October 24, 2007
LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS) today announced two new original games for mobile phones based on the best-selling The Sims™ franchise. First up is The Sims Bowling, in which mobile gamers can lace up their bowling shoes and head for the lanes. Next is The Sims DJ, an innovative music and rhythm game that lets mobile gamers turn their cell phones into turn-tables and even create customized ringtones.

"The Sims is a franchise that has been very successful for mobile – the games play nicely to the casual audience and work perfectly on the platform," said Travis Boatman, VP of Worldwide Studios at EA Mobile. "Both new games allow players to live vicariously through a Sim that they create, either as a celebrated bowling champ or DJ, regardless of the players’ real life talents and possibilities."

The Sims Bowling

In The Sims Bowling, players will customize and name a Sim, and then head to the bowling alley to try to win popularity by scoring strikes and winning trophies. Since the game is designed for easy one-button game play, users are able to adjust and control the power of the bowling ball as it’s sent screaming down the lanes. The Sims Bowling includes four different game modes – Classic, Strike-O-Thon, Spare-O-Thon and Online Derby, which is a real-time race against up to four live opponents that connect through each player’s carrier network. Helping the Sim master the ball speed and spin for pin knock-downs makes for a challenging, fun and realistic bowling experience!

The Sims DJ

Coming this holiday, music fans and enthusiasts have a chance to create their own tracks in a variety of popular genres, including Pop, Rock, Hip Hop and Dance with The Sims DJ. Mix and blend pre-recorded music from an extensive collection of tracks built into the game to help take your Sim to DJ superstardom! Conquer the clubs by matching tracks to the musical genres the club-goers in Downtown Pleasantville want to hear. Players can also earn Simoleons, The Sims version of currency, to spend on new music tracks and equipment, such as speakers, turntables, headphones, and shades. Use The Sims DJ to create ringtones from original songs, which can be saved to a phone and shared with friends!

The Sims Bowling is currently available on most wireless carriers in North America and Europe. The Sims DJ will be available on most major wireless carriers beginning in December. For more information on carrier availability and pricing, please visit www.eamobile.com.
