Banned rap star to headline major club night in Dublin
Lethal Bizzle, one of the UK's most notorious and popular rap stars is set to headline Dublin's renowned Rap Ireland Bank Holiday Party this October 28 th at Radio City. The rap star, who has been banned from numerous mainstream radio stations in the UK, arrives off the NME UK tour amid rising controversy in Britain over the influence of grime and Hip-Hop music in the recent spate of gun crime.
Never having played an Irish show before, Lethal B joins an all-star line-up for the Rap Ireland party, which have become somewhat of an institution on the Irish Hip-Hop calendar. Recent appearances at these parties have included 50 Cent, P.Diddy, Snoop Dogg and Xzibit, all strongly linked with the Irish brand. Other major attractions at the event include FM104's Frank Jez, DJ Ahmed of Pulse FM and MTV Base fame, Maverick Sabre and Tim Dogg.
Lethal Bizzle has never been one to dodge the limelight, in 2004 entering the UK charts at number 11 despite even then being banned on numerous stations. The success of the "Pow" single propelled Lethal into the public eye from which he was signed to V2 Records and released numerous high profile projects, including the recent hit single with Twista.
In July 2005 Lethal Bizzle was one of the very few black British artists to appear onstage at the Live 8 concert in Edinburgh, a fact that drew large media attention in light of the events cause.
The party promoters in Dublin, Rap Ireland, are very confident of the shows success and look forward to Lethal Bizzle setting a benchmark.
