Lil Jon, Ying Yang Twins, E40, Bobby Valentino, Lil Scrappy and more attended one of the first preview parties in the US at Patchwerk Studio in Atlanta .
Atlanta, GA, (September 17, 2007) -- Konsole Kingz made history this past weekend by hosting one of the first previews of Halo 3 in the US. The preview party, held this Saturday, September 15th, was sponsored by Microsoft, who flew in Bungie, the developers of Halo 3.
Konsole Kingz brought some of the top names in hip-hop - Lil' Jon, E-40, Ying Yang Twins, Lil' Scrappy, Fabo of D4L, Bonecrusher, Bobby Valentino, Ike Dirty, Playaz Circle, Rasheeda and Khujo Goodie, to be one of the first to preview the biggest entertainment release of the year, Halo 3, which is expected to reach close to $200 million in FIRST DAY sales when launched on September 25th.
"This is where it's at," said Lil Jon, "We're always playing on tour buses. But it's even better to have something so organized for us to come to check out new games."
"We couldn't be happier with the industry response to the Konsole Kingz - Halo 3 party," says CJ Peters, CEO and founder of Konsole Kingz. "Gaming is a multi-billion dollar industry and growing fast. Our goal is to bring the influential world of hip-hop to the video game space. And, events like this are the start."
The event took place at Patchwerk Studio. It was transformed into a serious game room with nine Xbox 360's systems linked and hooked to nine 46" screens, complete with open bar, gourmet catering and DJ Majestic on the turntables. It was "Game On", with hip-hop celebrities battling each other from each part of the studio.
Bonecrusher shared his excitement of Halo 3 with the attendees, "This is stupendous, it's rare for us all too just come together and play."
During the event, celebs like Fabo and Lil Scrappy were ribbing one another and taking jabs at each other's playing skills. The camaraderie was evident. The event proved the commonality the hip-hop culture has with the gaming industry. When CEO of Konsole Kingz, C.J. Peters tried to hand Lil Scrappy his games and departing gifts courtesy of Microsoft, Scrappy replied "Nah, nah I'm not leaving yet!! I'm chilling. Feels like I'm at home."
With video game launches happening regularly, expect to see more from Konsole Kingz, as they bring the latest in video games to their hip-hop friends.
